I slammed to the ground hard as I could see stars. I held my head in my hands as a wave of pain took over. "Adora you need to focus, what's going on with you"? My mother scolded offering her hand to help me up. After a grueling couple of hours of training my mind was somewhere else.

"Nothing mom... I just... can we just call it a day" I say to which she nods with a frown. She pulls me into her arms as we slowly walk back into the house.

"Are you feeling ok? Is your eye acting up again" she slightly panicked lifting my face so she could closely exam it. I gently push her hands away from my face.

"I'm fine mom please stop worrying" I say with a roll of my eyes. Just then a hyper Amelia comes running to me with grabby hands and I instantly lift her in my arms.

"You know how I am about your health Adora. By the way I wanted to speak to you about something. I know you said you wanted to go away for college... to the dance school".

Confused I set Amelia down on the couch then plop down next to her. My mother sits across from us, her golden eyes staring at me intently. "Yeah what about it"? I asked slightly holding my breath.

"Your father and I think it's best you take the first year off. What's the rush anyway? And you can help your father run the family business" my mother said with the cheesiest grin. I frowned deeper suddenly feeling frustrated.

"Mom we've  already talked about this. I'm going away for college and you'll just have to accept it. I don't want to stay here forever and I could care less aboit the family business". I say trying to keep my cool. This was the first time she was bringing up me taking part in dad's business. I knew my father had fought hard for it but I thought I made it clear that I wanted no part at all.

"All I'm saying Adora  is to think about your health! I don't want something happening to you and I'm to far away from you to protect you"! I could see the unshed tears in her eyes. My mother loved hard and I understood her concerns but it was time I made my own decisions.

"Mom I'll always be your little girl no matter how far I am this will always ne my home" I say with a smalll smile. She dabs at her face as teara start to run down her cheeks. She grabbed me and Amelia in her arms squishing us like a pancake.

"My beautiful children" she cooed peppering kisses all over our faces. It was a bitter sweet moment, one that I would always cherish.

The next day started like any other day. I woke up early, got ready for school, had some breakfast, and then off I went. I shifted through classes as per usual but something felt strange today. There was this tense atmosphere going on that I couldn't expain.

Lauren and Nuri had thought I was worried about nothing but I knew in my gut. Something didn't seem right so when school finished me and Nuri decided to pay Lila a visit. She was staying in another pack members basement and it had been a few days since we visited her.

"I just hope she didn't try to escape again" Nuri says as we make our way down the long trail. It us another five minutes to walk down when we saw a large crowd surrounding the house. The familiar pack guards were there as well as Wesley's mother.

Me and Nuri looked at one another before dashing to the front of the circle. To my dismay there Lila sat with a bleeding lip. Her hands we tird behind her back and she was sobbing loudly.

Aunt Arista stood with a menacing look as she glanced the crowd. "It seems we have a rogue among us! We will deal with this issue accordingly as we usually do"! She signaled for the guards to lift her off the ground.

"This is bad... what are we gonna do" ? Nuri asked glancing between me and a hysterical Lila. I was trying to think as the crowd grew antsy with fellow pack members yelling to kill her on the spot.

I knew Wesley was going to be furious once he found out. The only thing I could think of was to stall for time. "I think she deserves a fair trial! I mean it's only right otherwise you could be killing someone whose innocent"! I yell loudly causing for eyes to now be on me. Nuri looked at me with panic and I continued on with my plan.

"Why should we listen to a vampire! This isn't your problem so stay out of it" someone from the crowd yelled. I gulped deeply but stood my ground.

"Is that how you do things around here? Killing innocent people without a fair trial"? I stared the man down who now appeared out of rhe crowd. He stood towering over my small frame and I had to tell myself that I was fine.

But really I was shitting my pants..

"Maybe we should throw you in there with the rogue" ! He screamed getting the others riled up. At this point I was mentally panicking at what to do next. Aunt Arista ordered them tobbe quiet as we all faced her now. A shivering Lila with her head down.

"I will deal with this accordingly. For now, guards please place the rogue into a cell. Adora I'd like to have a word with you" my aunt spoke with a blank expression.

This could not have gone any worse
