Aelin who was walking through the halls of Driftmark by herself uses her other senses to help guide her. When she hears a commotion, she goes towards it until she hears her brother Aemond yell "Come at me again and I'll feed you to my dragon!"

Aelin gets closer just as Jace, Luke, Rhaena and Baela attack "Ah!" Aelin's eyes widen hearing Aemond hurt and a bubbling rage burns in her that she screams, fire unleashed from her and the power not hot enough to burn but it did blast away the kids who were on top of Aemond.

"Aemond!" Aelin calls out walking forward, only to stumble since she didn't know she was on top of stairs.

"Witch!" Rhaena yells as Aemond blocks the kids from Aelin.

"Stay away from Aelin!" Aelin's yells

"She's a witch!" Jace yells

"Stay away from us!" Aemond yells "you bastards! You'll die in flames just as your father did!"

"Our father is alive!" Luke yells

Aemond looks at Jace "He doesn't know, does he Lord Strong?" Jace pulls out a knife and goes to kill Aemond for that.

"Jace!" Baela yells

Jace attacks, Aemond dodges it but Jace goes to stab Aelin for the fire. Aelin who turned cries out when Jace slashes her arm "You hurt Aelin!" Aemond yells shoving Jace aside, the blade falls out of his hand and Jace throws dust into Aemond's eyes blinding him until Luke picked it up and slashed Aemond's eye.

Guards soon arrive and Ser Criston goes to Aelin, he rips his cloak to bandage her bleeding arm "What is going on?" Aelin cries touching Ser Criston's face.

"Dear gods" Ser Harrold breathed out seeing Aemond's eye.

The children are taken into the throne room of Driftmark where Maesters are looking over Aemond and Aelin. One is stitching up Aemond's eye while Aelin's arm is being stitched up "Mommy" Aelin cries "where's mommy?"

Viserys and Alicent soon enter with everyone "Aelin" Helaena and Aegon run to Aelin "what happened?"

"I couldn't sleep" she says "I went for a walk hearing commotion"

"What happened?" Viserys demands, Aelin warily walks over to Aemond taking his hand.

"She's a witch!" Luke yells pointing at Aelin

"I will have your tongue" Alicent warns "if you call my daughter a witch again" looking at the Maester since Viserys isn't letting Aemond be given milk with poppy for the pain since he wants answers.

"Hi could you allow such a thing to happen?" Viserys demands "I will have answers"

"The princes were supposed to be abed, my king" Ser Harrold speaks "as was Princess Aelin"

"Who had the watch?" Viserys demands

Ser Harrold looks at Ser Criston "the young prince and princess were attacked by their owns cousins" Viserys looks at Ser Criston "Your Grace"

"You swore oaths!" Viserys tells "to protect and defend my blood!"

"I'm very sorry your Grace" Ser Harrold apologizes

"It will heal" Alicent asks as the king goes on a rant "will it not, Maester?"

"The princess's arm will forever have a scar" The Maester tells Alicent "as for the prince...the flesh will heal but the eye is lost your grace"

Alicent gasps standing up then hits Aegon "What was that for?" He complains

"That was nothing" Alicent seethes in anger "compared to the abuse your brother and sister who is blind—need I remind you—had to endure while you drowned yourself in cups!"

"What is the meaning of this?!" Corlys demands as he and Rhaenys go to Rhaena and Baela. Rhaenyra appears with Daemon, she goes to her children hearing what happened. A commotion soon goes out through the children.

"Enough!" The king slams his cane against the floor, Aelin covers her ears crying as Aegon holds her since Aemond's getting his eye stitches up.

"He called us bastards" Jace tells Rhaenyra who stands up trying to think of something to say. Aelin who isn't hearing anymore yelling puts her ears down.

"Aemond" Viserys demands going down to him "Aelin, I will have the truth of what happened"

"What else is there to hear?" Alicent demands "your son has just been maimed, her son responsible"

"They attacked Aelin for no reason" Aemond tells everyone.

"She's a witch!" The kids start to yell and Aelin starts to cry.

"Enough!" Viserys yells, the hall is silent "why do you believe she is a witch?"

"She is blind" Jace says "and she threw us back"

"So that make her a witch?" Aemond demands, none of the adults understand why that would make her a witch.

"It was a regrettable accident" Rhaenyra speaks up

"An accident?" Alicent demands "since the day my daughter was born your sons have been nothing but bullies to her! For what? Because she cannot see? The prince Lucerys brought a blade to the fight, he meant to kill my son and daughter"

"It were my sons who were attacked" Rhaenyra yells "and forced to defend themselves, vile insults were levied against them"

"What insults?" Viserys demands as Alicent can't believe what she's hearing.

"The legitimacy of my sons birth" Rhaenyra "was put into question"

"What?" Viserys asks

"He called us bastards" Jace tells him

"My sons" Rhaenyra says "are in line to inherit the Iron Throne, Your Grace. This is the highest of treasons"

"Over some words?" Aelin yells, everyone looks to her "I can't see but what I know is that when I heard the commotion, I heard Aemond being beaten up by four others!"

"My son" Alicent says "lost his eye over an insult"

"You tell me boy" Viserys demands "where did you hear this lie?"

"Is it?" Aelin asks, Helaena went to cover her mouth but it was too late. The king heard it as did everyone else.

"Aelin?" Viserys asks "you speak treason, unless you have proof"

"I heard" Aelin pulls away "one night where I was walking away by myself, I heard Rhaenyra speaking with Ser Harwin Strong" the place is silent "they were talking of a baby and how they loved one another"

"Lies" Rhaenyra exclaims "she must have heard me tell Ser Laenor for she cannot see"

"I" Aelin turns to Rhaenyra angry, the fire from before threatens to spill "am many things, blind is the most I hear people say but I do not lie. I know the difference between peoples voices and yours was clear as day"

"Father" Aegon speaks up "we know, everyone knows" Viserys looks at him "just look at them" the hall is silent as Rhaenyra holds her sons.

"This interminable infighting" Viserys yells "must cease! All of you! We are a family, now make your apologies and show good will to one another—your father, your grandsire, your king demands it!"

"We hear is insufficient" Alicent says as Viserys walks past her "our daughter nearly died because she is blind—Aemond has been damaged permanently" Aelin holds her hands up to walk over to Aemond, takes his arm. Aemond looks over and smiles taking her hand knowing that she is alive "my king. 'Good will' cannot make him whole"

"I know, Alicent" the king agrees "but what do you wish for me to do? I cannot restore his eye just as I cannot give Aelin her sight"

"Aemond's has been taken" Alicent begs "there is a debt that must be paid, I shall have one of her sons eyes in return"

"My dear wife" Viserys speaks

"Your eye" Aelin asks Aemond "it is lost?"

"It is" he confirms, as her parents were arguing the rage inside of Aelin burns so hot that she screams. Because she was facing Rhaenyra and her family they had to duck when Aelin released a fire in their direction.

"See!" Jace points at Aelin as everyone stares at her shocked "she's a witch!"

"I" Aelin stands tall "am a dragon!" She throws more fire at them and Rhaenyra screams when her back that was facing Aelin is burned to protect her sons. Everyone stares shocked at the fire burns on her back.

"I want her dead!" Rhaenyra yells

"I will kill you for what you did to Aemond!" Aelin yells as fire surrounds the two.

"It is alright" Aemond tells Aelin since he sees everyone going away from the fire, not wanting to be burned "I may have lost an eye, but I gained a dragon—and it seems you gained powers"
