That night, Adrien flopped onto his bed, forgetting Plagg was still in his shirt. 

     "Hey- what the heck kid?" Plagg rammed his tiny head into Adrien's shoulder.

     "Sorry, Plagg. Did you know Marinette liked me?" Adrien day up on his elbows, looking at his Kwami intently.

    "Hm? Yea. So?" Plagg munched on the Camambert Adrien tossed to him.

     "And so.. I don't know! But it hurt when she said she didnt anymore. Do you know why?" All Plagg wanted to do was tell Adrien that Marinette was, in fact Ladybug, but he knew he couldn't. He had to prove to Master that he could be responsible. He was honestly surprised he was put into the circulation again after... that.

     "You see, kid? This is why I stick which cheese. Much less complicated, no?" Adrien groaned at his Kwami.

     "Whatever. I'm glad she's over me, my heart belongs to Ladybug." Plagg face palmed.

     "Okay, then why are we having this conversation? I'm hungry."

      "When are you not?"

     "Hey, Marinette," Adrien waved to Marinette. He wondered if she really did like him, and his curiosity got the best of him. Now, just to find a way to ask...

     "H-hi adri-adrien.." Marinette waver shyly at him and walked over.

     "So, a little birdy told me you used to like me," He winked, why the fuck did he wink? Marinette went redder than Nathaniel's hair. (Had to. My bad.) 

     "Oh.. I... who- wha- I'm-" Marinette gaped. Who told him? Why? What was happening? 'Chill, Mari, you can.. you can totally do this. You can, this is a perfect opportunity' she told herself sternly. She gulped, feeling like her veins were made of lead.

  "Y-yea, I like-" 

     "But it's good you don't anymore, right? I mean, we would make a terrible couple, me being a model-" Adrien meant his busy schedule, not his social standing. He realized his mistake immediently. Marinette was starting to tear up. Why did he interrupt her? Because he was scared of what she was going to say.

     Why couldn't he ever think things through? "I-I mean that I wouldn't deserve you-" He stammered, clenching his hands. 'Just keep digging, kid' he imagined Plagg's voice in his head. His own eyes sting when he saw Mari's face. Not because she was crying.

     Because she was trying so hard to smile, and he had a feeling that was for his benefit. He wanted to say he didn't mean it, that he was sorry, and that was true. But no words came to him. Her eyes were red, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. Was what he said really that bad? She did say she USED to like Adrien.. what was happening?

     "O-okay yeah.. yeah. Y-your right!" She quickly turned on her heel and ran home, tears streaming down her face. 'Adrien is right' she thought, 'he's a model and I'm just a bakers daughter.. and he doesn't deserve me! I'm not good enough!' She stormed through the doors of the bakery, glad no a parents were there to ask why she was home so early and why she was crying. She through her coin bag (that's what I call it, idk what you guys do,) against the wall. Tikki squealed in pain.

     "Ouch! What was tha- Mari? What's wrong?" Tikki's voice softened when she saw Marinette collapse onto her bed.

     "I'm an IDIOT, Tikki, an IDIOT. I actually let myself believe it would work! Even if he did, by some miracle, like me, it would be selfish of me to date him!" Marinette cried. Tikki patted her back.

     "It's oka-"

     "No, it's not okay, girl. Your heart was broken, and the boy of your dreams payed no regard to your emotions. He was selfish. But I can give you the power to make your pain go away, you won't feel anything~" a new voice took over her mind. Marinette's eyes widened. (A/N- In this fanfiction, Hawkmoth can only feel the emotions and sense why they are felt, he cannot see them, therefor he did not see Tiki and he does not know she is Ladybug at this time).

     "Wha-" her body started shaking. She was LADYBUG! This couldn't be happening, she had to be strong, she had to be strong, she had to be-

     "I am hawkmoth, Ladyblanc, and you will get me Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous's, or you will feel pain and it will never end."

     'NO!' Marinette screamed in her head. It was no use. She may be Ladybug, but she was also just a girl. "Yes Hawkmoth~"
