Soleil

I woke up in a daze, feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Finding the feel of something soft, I couldn't help but caress my hand over the nice feeling. However, I wasn't sure soft and fuzzy things purr. Cracking my lids open, I find myself lying on colorful flowers, the sky bright blue, and the sun warm against my skin. Beside me, a wolf with golden fur sat watching me with its curious blue wolf eyes. I stare back in slight awe, finding the wolf very comforting.

"Hello, Soleil," A soft voice whispers against my ears. Weirdly, I knew the voice belonged to the wolf. I wonder why. I caress its head, the golden wolf leaning into the palm of my hand.

"You are beautiful," I murmur. Damira's wolf is very much beautiful as well. My heart stings with sadness at the thought of my werewolf mate. Suddenly, I jolt with realization. I'm not in the cell and I'm not shifting in pain. Noticing my panic state, the golden wolf rubs her snout into my cheek.

"Soleil, please do not panic. I will explain what is happening, but you need to calm." She purrs softly as I wrap my arms around her in comfort. I feel like a little girl, afraid, and seeking comfort from her little stuffie.

"What's going on, Goldie?" I whisper into her fur.

"It's true, you are turning. For years I've stayed dormant inside you, waiting for the time your mate marks you. However, it seems your shift is early. And not even by your mate." she says, her voice deepening with sadness. I caress her fur to comfort her, frowning.

"You're my wolf? That's why I feel so connected to you?"

"Yes. I'm Neoma, your wolf. Now Soleil, when you wake things will be different but you need to embrace your new form. You were born to be the Luna King, a leader, and your fate awaits you outside this dream."

Outside, my mate could be suffering. That poor faery could be getting hurt. Jasmine and Jack, their pups. Clara. I've been here for over a month and things have been skyrocketing. Learning that my werewolf father and human mother had a pack. Learning that I have a beautiful and wonderful mate. I even learn that I'm a leader of a whole damn island!

So much has happened and within that time, I've really forgotten about my past. About my adoptive family and about that man. The man I was practically about to chain myself too. And I have become more confident. In myself. So much growth. And now... Apparently I'm a werewolf now too. Sighing softly, I close my eyes and rest back into the grassy hill.

"I've decided, Neoma," I murmur, covering my eyes with my arm.

"What's that, Soleil? We all know you decided to be gay," she replies jokingly. I roll my eyes and wave a hand at her.

"I'm trying to be serious here!" I laugh, looking at the golden wolf. She huffs through her nose, leaning down next to me. "Anyways, I've decided to embrace all the crazy and kick butt so I can return to my mate."

"I like that plan, Soleil. I'm with you," I scratch her ear, smiling widely.

"Take me back now, please Neoma," Neoma stood back and braced herself on her legs, a loud howl escaping her. Her loud howl caused the scene to blur out, my vision darkening.

With a small gasp, the world set back to normal, I open my eyes. However, my vision better than never. Inside the cell, I could see without the light, now able to see what contents sat inside. And see the shivering scared Faery cry beside my furry figure. My eyes widen slightly, I'm a werewolf!

You sure are, Soleil. And beautiful.

I let out a huff, catching the faeries attention. "Miss Soleil! Your okay!" Her little figure buries herself into my golden fur. "Can you transform back? I don't know how to communicate with you," she trails off, the door rattling open. I release a low growl, pushing Flora away from sight. The pain from earlier was gone and replaced with fury.

Homer stepped inside, his creepy smile still plastered on his stupid face. "My, my, you take after your grandfather. Your family always have the golden fur. It's quite unfair really," shrugging, he tries to come closer, however the warning growl I give him makes him take a few steps back. "Now now, you need to obey me now. Your to be my Lun-" I didn't give him time to finish as I lunge for him, snapping my jaws over his outstretched hand. The crunch of bone against my jaw was satisfying as much as his painfilled scream. Flora screeched, her small war cry came after as she shot like a bullet. Whatever shiny thing Flora attacked him with sent him sprawling towards the ground.

I watch his limp body, stamping on his balls to make sure he was completely limp. Huffing in satisfaction, I grin at Flora. She squeals in happiness, hugging my fur. "That. Was. Awesome!"

You definitely kicked butt, Soleil.

I sure did, didn't I. Hey, how do I communicate with Flora? I ask, looking around the space we currently find ourselves in. So a basement sort of. Cement walls and the ground covered in dirt and also made of cement. Kind of reminds me of a horror film. I shiver, finding the staircase.

Like your talking to me. Just imagine a thread and tug at it.

I do what she says, squinting with concentration. Flora?

"Oh my! You can speak with me! That's so cool!" Flora dances around in happiness. I roll my eyes and smile at her.

Come, we need to find your father and sister. Then find an exit. Before Homer wakes up. Flora nods, her smile saddening.

Flora takes a seat upon my head and I lead the way outside. And ladies and gents, we find ourselves in a complete dump. And completely empty. The room completely empty of furniture and of people. The latter a good thing. However, Flora's family is a no show. I trot over to another door, letting Flora open it for me as I'm... wolfed out.

Oh my god. Can't believe you just said that. I could imagine Neoma slapping her forehead, fed up with that poor excuse of a joke. I laugh softly, eyeing the hallway.

"I can sense them, Soleil. Go down the hall, towards the last door." I follow Flora's instruction. nosing the door quietly. I couldn't hear any voices bar small sniffles. No rogues to be seen or heard. Before I could enter, Flora flew off and into the room.

Growling lowly, I trail after the little thing, finding her chatting excitedly into a small cage sat on a bedside table. I scrunch my nose up at the rotten smell of fish and stand beside Flora, nosing her small side.

Flora? I take a look towards the cage and my eyes widen. Inside are two little faeries, their wings deflated and tears running down their faces. The small man, the crown on his head almost lopsided. I bow my head slightly. King of Spring Court.

"Dad! Fauna! This is the Luna King! Come we must get back to the castle of wolves! Soleil is here to save us!" The two didn't mutter a word, exhausted to the bone. They were probably been hurt by that crazy. Flora uses her magic and the click of the lock opens, King of Spring Court and Fauna of Spring Court flutter out, giving Flora a comforting hug. I smile sadly.

Sorry to cut short, but we need to get out of here before Homer wakes. Who knows how many friends he has.

The three nod, tugging on my fur and settling down. As they situated, I readied to pounce anytime. Running towards another set of stairs, we make our way down. Neoma helps use her senses to find any trace of rogues scattered about.

I think that they have a separated hideout.

Neoma mutters. Probably. As I find a cabin like area and the exit to freedom, a roar of fury rattles the place. Homer is awake and ready for revenge. Shit. Shit. Growling, I smash through the door, splitting the door in half. My paws beating against the dirt, my harsh breathing battling against my lungs.

Damira... I'm coming home Damira!

I release a loud howl, longing and happiness, hoping it will reach Damira. The Faeries on my back cry in joy as the wind whips past us, wolves now on our tail. I grin a wolfy grin, Neoma grinning with me. She loves a chase. Bring it, Homer. You may have murmured my ancestors and my parents, but this time, you will not succeed!

I am the Luna King, and this is MY Island!
