(15) Who am I really?

Author POV

Good evening cuties! I do apologize for late updates but man hasn't the world gone nuts? I do want to just say, I hope your all okay, you guys are safe and not worrying too much about world drama. In Australia, not sure about other countries, but there is panic buying at the moment and I work in a supermarket as a customer service employee. The reason I haven't updated is that I have had to put my time off from work to mentally put myself back together. People can be pretty nasty and since I'm always a positive person, negativity really dampens my vibe. So I've taken the time to retreat and calm my mind for a bit.

Your mental and physical health is important to me, and if you are unwell or feel sick, please go see a doctor or treat yourself. This madness will end soon. The world is filled with mysterious things and we just have to go along with it.

Be safe my little doves, and remember, we'll be here when you need us the most.

Kisses for all ~

Soleil

The bubbling laugh escapes past my lips, finally seeing where Damira's familiarity came from. My laughter echoes through the pack, my eyes welling with happy tears. Damira watches me with silent interest as I watch her, chuckling. I'm guessing I paused her from beating her father to a pulp. The look of excited rage that was dancing in her eyes no longer there. Instead, curiosity and confusion shined through brighter.

"Ah..." I calm down, wiping my eyes. "Now I see. You still have that attitude, Damira. After we were young, I thought that when I kicked your ass made you regret your attitude. Guess not," I shrug innocently, stepping closer to the father, daughter duo. Gregory huffs, crossing his arms.

"Hey, I tried. That attitude is annoying but, she's my daughter. Then again she acts like her mother, more than me." I roll my eyes towards Gregory, examining his exhausted features, the tired lines under his eyes. I frown slightly.

"You've come here, to tell us something bad." Gregory freezes, his eyes catching mine.

"My dear, you're as perceptive as your mother. Yes, I'm here to discuss something with you and Damira." He paused to look around us, towards the crowd of wolves lingering by with opened ears. "In private."

Damira catching on, nodding. "We'll go to my office." Turning away, Damira marches off towards the packhouse, pass all the gaping wolves through town. Sighing softly, I take Jasmine's hand and pull her in for a hug. Shocked beyond comprehension, she slowly wraps her arms around me. I whisper in her ear, smiling.

"Can I trust you to take charge of this, while I'm gone?" She nods mutely and I pull away to follow Damira and her father. I give the pack small smiles as I follow along, Damira and her Father tense as they walk alongside each other. It's like they secretly hate each other.

As we arrive at the golden gates, they open wide to allow us in. I thank the guards in favor of the two Alphas silence, scowling at their poor sense of manners. However, I spoke too soon about hating each other.

As soon as we entered Damira's office, the two were squabbling like teenagers. I sat on the green colored couch beside the window, watching the two go at it.

"She told you to come here, didn't she!?" Damira starts her fists in the air. But Gregory wasn't having it. He mimicked her, growling lowly.

"Your mother has nothing to do with me being here!" Damira rolls her eyes, a snarl slipping past her lips.

"I banned you guys to the end of the Island! You have broken the law! How dare you show up here, with... with her goddamn scent!" Gregory kicks the chair beside him, my heart racing at how angry he began to look. Eyes becoming feral with rage.

"That's my mate you're talking about, pup! And your mother!"

"That woman isn't my fucking mother. Never has been. Never will be!" I flinch as she hits the office table, the pens rattling off the table.

Gregory sighs, rubbing his face. "I didn't come here to argue about your mother. I told you, she's changed. But you never believe me." Ah, so I'm guessing that the mother, Damira's mother is a sore spot between them. Hmm. Who knew I'd be watching a TV drama right now. I giggle silently, causing their attention to waver over to me.

They stare at me as if I have two heads. I smile, leaning into the couch. "Oh hello. Don't mind me, I don't exist apparently." Damira rolls her eyes and sinks into her chair, sighing deeply.

"Let's just discuss what we are meant to be discussing."  Damira murmured, Gregory, agreeing.

"Well, to start off with, Soleil, I wanted to firstly apologize for my disappearance. But, the Moon Goddess told me to leave as it is your fate. And what a fate it is, as it brought you here."

"Yes, yes," I wave. "Already agreed that I should follow my fate. She told me I had to so okay here I am. But what are you doing here?"

"I've come to tell you about your parents. And who you are." Damira huffs, crossing her arms.

"She's a human. What could be so important about her?" I raise a brow at her attitude. Wow, still the same little girl she is. Gregory silently agreeing decides not to snark back, turns his attention to me. He smiles softly.

"Your father, Vince Cyrus was an Alpha to the largest pack known to man. The Island wasn't the only place to home werewolves, Soleil. Where you lived, when you were younger was a forest filled home, a home your father and mother lead for werewolves."

I frown, confused. "But wait, the only wolves that left the human countries were the ones to come here, to the Island." He nodded.

"But not Homer."

"Right, I never found out what happened to him," Damira mutters, interested as to where this is heading. Gregory smiles softly.

"Homer actually found his mate while finding himself alone. However, rage still bloomed inside his heart. When he had found his mate, Viola, he kidnapped her and turned her. She later bore him two children. Kios and Henry. Years later, his family grew and his pack grew. But he fed his pack with anger and rage, telling them that they will never have a true home because their people abandoned them. Left them to rot away with humans."

"But wait, how do my parents fit into this?"

"I'm getting there." Gregory huffs. "Your great grandfather, Lani Cyrus didn't agree with Homer and revolted. Created allies in the pack to take down Homer. In the end, they did. Lani Cyrus and his pack put Homer on the run and he never returned. I don't know what has become of him. He never came back for his mate or children. He just disappeared. So your father is the Alpha of the pack Homer originally started. However, when they died, the pack members were either murdered... or taken." He finishes.

I blink a few times, hesitating to say something. So my family is part of history, I'm a daughter of an Alpha and my pack is pretty much dead. "Who killed them?" I barely mutter, eyes cast towards the carpet.

"I do not know."

"So what is she?" Damira interrupts.

"A hybrid. A human half-wolf, however, her human DNA is stronger than her werewolf genes." Gregory explains, rubbing his temple.

"So my mate is just a plain human? You have to be kidding me, I thought she might be worth it since she is the daughter of an alpha." I scowl at her.

Gregory stands up, eyes wide. "Your mates?!" I nod in confirmation. Suddenly he grins, "Fuck yes!" He points at Damira, grinning. "You'll finally break, Damira! You will finally get the love you deserve!" He does a happy dance. "I'm so glad I asked for your pairing! This is going to be great. Our Island will be the strongest when you guys mate! Woop Woop! Just wait till I tell your mother!"

I watch in stunned silence as he leaves, dancing. Outside the door is the Wolfe brother, watching their father with the same expressions. Badon mutters, jaw slack. "What the heck happened to him?"
