The Black Recovery
I groan as I sit up, the bed I'm isn't exactly comfortably. Cheap infirmary beds, I must be in Beacon academy. Which is good. It means I haven't been reported to the police, feeling in my pockets I realise that Blake's wallet is gone along with my crossbow. Someone clears their throat and I look up to see the woman of the hour. If that hour was seven years ago. "Y/n what happened to you?" She asks taking a step across the pristine tiled floor, her shoes tapping.
"No." I growl "You don't get to ask that question. You know why I left. But last I heard you were personal housecat of Adam Taurus. Word spreads quickly in my area of work." I cough loudly into my hand, speckles of blood stain my flesh. Furrowing my brow in displeasure I glare madly at Blake, she looks at me with innocence and I keep the same venomous glare. "I-I thought."
"You thought you were in love. Well let me tell you, that love doesn't exist. You think you loved him, the only people you can truly love are family. Do you know what I would've given to be as lucky as you? All I ever had was Kara, now even she is gone." I cough again even louder and more blood spurts out my mouth. Wiping my lips I look at Blake, "I'll get the nur-"
"NO! Answer me! Why Blake? You stayed with them after all they did. I even left the thieves guild after I realised that they were involved with the white fang. We were friends for five years, five fucking years. You were with them the whole time. You helped in their attacks. You made a bad name for faunus like me. You-"
"I thought you were dead!" She screams catching me off guard. "You didn't tell me you would leave. You just did. Adam and Alex said you'd been killed because you were faunus. That's why I stayed and that's why I thought. Because of those five long fucking years!" I sit in silence dumbfounded by her shouting, and the truth that had never occurred to me. Another coughing fit takes hold and a puddle of blood forms on the floor at my incessant choking. "Nurse!" Blake shouts, "No!" I retaliate. "I don't need a nurse. I'm leaving." as I try to get up a sharp pain digs into my ribs and I realise it's my own ribs. Lifting up my shirt I see the blood stained bandages that cover my wounds. "Shit." I cry out in pain before lowering my shirt. To my surprise, Blake hugs me. I'm dumbfounded, confused, bewildered, gobsmacked, shocked; I feel every variant of the word right now. Her head nestled against my shoulder, I sit there like an idiot for a good few minutes before returning the hug. My arms wrap around her and hers around me, I gently rub her back. Regardless of what happens here I still need to leave soon. The guild is only in Vale for two more months then I will have to wait another six for this opportunity. "Promise me you won't leave until you've recovered." Blake's muffled voice speaks.
"I can't I need to kill- ah" She squeezes my ribs.
"Promise me." She half screams into my shoulder, thank god it's my good shoulder.
"I-I promise" I say finally, her grip loosens and she walks to the door.
"Do you really have nothing left to lose?" She asks me with her big kitten eyes, I look up at her then at the picture of Kara conveniently placed on the table beside me. "I have nothing left Blake." I force out, knowing it's not the answer she would want. But if I admit to it she'll only find it all that much harder when I die. I don't expect to beat Kresh, I expect to take him with me. "Have a good sleep Y/N" she says sourly with tears in her eyes and a lump in her throat. It's better this way. I lay my head back unto the pillow and look once again at the picture of me and Kara, in the picture we're only about six. Twins for better and for worse, we stole so much on that day and just so we could take this picture. I sigh, "I'll be with you soon sis." On my wrist I see the tattoo with her initials on them. A bond deeper then anyone could ever have. A bond deeper then any I will have again. Now that she's dead I will kill Kresh and myself. We will go down in one great glorious ball of flame. I miss you Kara...

"Come on Y/N" Kara squeals in her young and lively voice. "You promised that we could get the picture." She drags me through the crowd, I can feel the lien in my pocket, so many people would waste this. They don't realise the harsh lives that go on right beneath their noses. She takes me into a store with a large model camera next to the sign 'Z's Photos'. Inside there are various picture frames and examples of filters on the pictures. Some even had backgrounds so you could imagine you were anywhere. So this is what the rich waste their lien on. And now so are we, but I'd do anything for my sister. The man at the counter has a pair of insect antenna twitching on his head. Obviously a faunus of some sort. "How can I be of assistance today young lady?" The man says in a low soft voice as my sister approaches the counter.
"Bro, give him the money." I oblige and hand him the money, he looks at the two of us with a piercing stare, his eyes seem strange and empty. "Stand here" He orders pointing to a corner of the room that was pure white and blocky. "What kind of background would you like?" The man waits holding a tablet in his hands.
"The blue sky." My sister answers and he flicks the tablet, the white surfaces shiver then become a beautiful blue sky. We stand where he asked and the flash goes off.

"If only he would see how arrogant he's being. How can he not see all that he has? He is blinded by grief for his sister." I shout at my teammates.
"You know you're sounding a lot like Weiss right now." Ruby says quietly.
"Hey" Weiss moans in a high pitched tone.
"She's not wrong you know." Yang starts speaking, "People always act this way around the people they care about. Remember how Weiss acted when she found out you were part of the white fang? At first she was mad, then she realised that she only cares about who you are now, not who you were." Yang carries on.
"You're not helping Yang" I tell her.
"You just need to give him time. I'm sure he can't be any more stubborn then you." Yang snarks causing Ruby to release a light laugh. "Goodnight." Ruby says turning the light off and we each reply individually. I lie there with my head against my pillow. If only he'd see reason. A single tear drops onto my pillow and I fall asleep.
Author's Notes - So I thought I'd try making this new series actually contain emotion, and so far I think I'm doing pretty well. Let me know how well you think I actually captured each character's emotions. And tell me how I could improve. None of you are allowed to give me that 'I don't feel emotion crap' capeesh? Good we all feel emotion, even emos that's why it's called EMOtion. At least I found that funny. I should spend less time writing fanfiction that involves Yang in it. Lucky for me the next colourblind story is whith Yang. Yaaay, the puns will hopefully be real. Zenith Out...
