A/N: This takes place before Kion became the leader of the Lion guard. The first two chapters will focus on when she was still a young cub.

Lulu's POV

I was running as my feet were carrying me looking for a safe place to leave. Now that my parents were dead

Flashback

"Lulu look out!" My mom and father shouted pushing me out of the way.

I look at them to see that they pushed me out of two falling trees caught on fire. I then saw the trees fall on them.

"Mother! Father!" I screamed.

"Lulu run to safety, " My mother said.

"What about you two?" I asked not wanting to leave them.

"Forget about us your just a cub worry about your own life and run, " My father said.

"Okay goodbye, " I whispered before running off to somewhere I could live safely.

Flashback end.

After snapping out of my memory of what happened almost a week ago. I continue my search for a safe home to live. I then notice a watering hole and went to go take a drink of water.

Once I was done drinking some water. I continue running but didn't know how much longer I could keep going since I was completely exhausted from running for four days.

I stop running as I reached a large field of grass and suddenly felt myself losing consciousness due to exhaustion.

Third person's POV

Zazu was flying through the pride lands on his morning patrol. When he suddenly saw a leopard laying down on the grass.

'What a young leopard doing in the pride land? And does that leopard have black fur? Especially why is it alone?' Zazu thought flying closer to the leopard.

"It is a black leopard and she completely exhausted and her paw looks hurt. I should go tell Simba about this, " Zazu said flying to pride rock to let Simba know about this.

"My majesty, " Zazu said as he arrived at pride rock.

"Zazu what is it?" King Simba asked when he saw Zazu fly inside of pride rock really fast.

"Yeah what is the rush?" Nala asked standing next to her mate.

"I spotted a female black young leopard around the same age as Kion laying on the grass in the pride lands," Zazu replied.

"Are sure that what you saw?" Nala asked.

It was hard to believe that such a young leopard would be here all alone, but even more hard to believe that it was black.

"Yes, I'm positive that what I saw. I even move closer to get a better look. It was definitely a black leopard."

"I find it hard to believe also. No leopard lives in the pride and they have never been black. We will know for sure when we go check it out, " Simba said.

"Alright, what about the cubs?" Nala asked.

"They're playing with there friends but I have Rafiki check on them, " Simba replied.

Zazu then led them to the leopard he found after Simba told Rafiki to check on the cubs. When they arrived at where Zazu spotted the young black leopard. "There she is, majesty!" Zazu said, pointing his wing at a black figure laying on its side near a rock.

Nala then approached the little figure, carefully turning it around with her paw. What Zazu said was true this creature was really a leopard cub with her fur being as black as the midnight sky. She saw what looked like burn marks on one of her paws.
"Hey, are you okay?" She asked gently shaking her. However, the cub didn't respond.

"I cannot remember seeing a single leopard with this fur color in my whole life," Zazu said.

"She's hurt. We must take her to Rafiki so he can take care of her, " Nala urgently said.

"Hum, I must express my objection, my Queen, " Zazu told the lioness. "We don't have any idea where that cub is from. Also, leopards are extremely dangerous and don't live in the pride lands."

"Are you suggesting we leave her alone to starve go death, Zazu?" Simba asked with a frown. "Let's just get her to Rafiki and see what she can tell us when she wakes up."

Zazu sighed in defeat. "As you wish, Majesty."

And so, Nala scooped the unconscious cub on her back and proceeded to follow her mat back home with Zazu flying right above them...

Lulu groaned as she regained consciousness. She blinked her yellow eyes a few times before being able to scan her surroundings. She was in a cave of some sort with a pond of water nearby. A soft material laid beneath him and, gazing down, he saw that it was some sort of moss nest on which she was lying. Where was she?

"She's awake, " was the first thing she heard.

Gazing up, she saw tall figures staring down at her loins. One had cream fur and the other one a red mane and gold fur.

"Are you ok, kid? Does your paw hurt?" The male asked.

Now that he mentioned it her paw did hurt from the flames the fire causes back in her home. However this cream she saw on her paw help ease the pain. Whoever did this will receive an thanks. "I'm okay... I guess, " she responded.

"What were you doing alone close the borders of the border of the Outlands?" Nala asked. "That is a very dangerous place don't you have anyone to watch over you."

Lulu looked down trying to think if she should tell them what happened. They seem nice so she decided to tell them at least tell them her parents are gone. "My mother and father are dead."

"How did they die?" Simba asked. "Also what is your name?"

"Lightning struck the trees and caused a fire. They got killed trying to save me from the falling trees. Also, my name is Lulu, " she said looking down at her paws.

This caused the royal couple to look at the cub sadly. Nala pulled her mate a bit away from the cub. "Simba we can't just abandon her. She has nowhere to go, " she mumbled.

"I know but leopards don't live in the pride lands,  " The king replied. "How are we supposed to help her if don't even have a good place for her to live?"

"Let me take care of it, okay? I will gather up my best lionesses and search for a place for her to live. While you stay here and take care of her with Rafiki."

"That sounds like the best idea," Simba admitted with a nod. "Just hope this doesn't turn out to be a problem and good luck finding her a home."

"Simba I really think this cub will not cause any harm. Yeah, leopards can be aggressive but I believe she won't be a problem." The lioness said.

After a good night's sleep, Nala left in the morning with a crew of lionesses to search for a place for the young cub to live. After a full day of searching, they found a nice place with tons of trees and tons of space in the Northern parts of the pride lands.

Zazu warned them that letting a leopard live in the pride lands. Might cause the other animals to treat her like an outsider. However, Nala refused to make her live in the outlands alone and wanted to give her a home.
