Unexpected Disturbance

Damian

Parker told me that the remnants of Hotch's men were about to attack the bar. I told Parker to get Evelyn out before things went to hell. I only hope that he got her out in time. Gregory burst through the door, entering my office while I was doing paperwork with Parker. "What the hell happened?" I said.

"Hotch's men attacked; it was all over when I returned to the bar," Gregory explained.

"Where's Evelyn?" I growled.

"Evelyn was shot. I took her to the hospital, but it didn't look good. She was shot twice in the back," Gregory said.

"You left her in the hospital ALONE?!" I said.

"The police were swarming the place; I couldn't hang around," Gregory tried to make an excuse.

"Evelyn is a Black Dragon; she is one of us. You should have stayed with her," I was furious.

"I couldn't stay, Damian, I shot Rodge. The cops will be looking for me. As for Vinnie, he got away. The bullets that hit Evelyn were meant for him. He used her as a shield," Gregory explained.

"That bastard," My fists clenched. I have to get Evelyn out of the hospital. "I'll go to the hospital, I'll pretend I'm her husband," I said.

"The hospital is going to be filled with police," Parker said.

"My face is unknown to the cops. They might have my name but need my face to put on it," I said.

"It's a big risk to take for a chick you barely know," Parker said.

"Just set me up with a fake I.D. and fast. Passports, birth certificates, and even driver's licenses, and same for Evelyn, and collect me at the penthouse in an hour.

(One Hour Later)

Parker picked up at the penthouse as I told him to; I'm just surprised he is on time for once. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Parker asked me.

"Positive, what name am I using?" I said.

"Andrew Lyons and Evelyn is Anna Lyons," Parker handed me the fake I.D.

"If she's okay, I'll get her out of there so you have the car ready," I said.

I left the car when we got to the hospital. As expected, nursing staff were around, but I saw no cops. "Excuse me. I believe my wife was brought in earlier tonight? Possible gunshot injury?" I said.

"What's you name?" The nurse asked me.

"Andrew Lyons, my wife's name is Anna," I said.

"Yes, there was a woman brought in. She's just out of surgery, she didn't have any I.D. on her," The nurse explained.

"Is my wife okay?" I said.

"She's fortunate; both bullets missed her vital organs," The nurse said.

"Thank god, can I see her?" I smiled.

"The police are waiting to speak to her when she wakes up, but they got called away. I'm sure they'll need to talk to you, too. I don't see why you can't sit with her while waiting. Follow me," The nurse led me to Evelyn's room. She was sleeping.

"You're sure she's going to be okay?" I asked.

"She'll be fine. She won't wake for a few hours because of the anesthetic, but she'll make a full recovery. We need to keep her here for a few days for observation and to keep her wounds clean. After that, you can take your wife home, and the police stationed here will be here soon to talk to you," the nurse said.

"Thank you," I said as the nurse left. I looked at Evelyn again, and she didn't look good. Thank god we are on the ground floor, now or never. I pulled out my phone and called Parker. "Parker, it's me, listen very carefully.

(The Next Morning)

"So how is she now?" Parker asked.

"Not sure she's still sleeping. At least I got her out of there before the cops got back. I didn't want to deal with the mess that would come afterward. Any word on Rodge?" I said, pouring myself a glass of scotch.

"Dead; Gregory shot him in the back of the head, as it said on the news," Parker said.

"Good, saves me the trouble of doing it. Vinnie is next, and I want him personally," I smiled at the thought of killing him.

"Do you need anything from the pharmacy?" Parker said.

"Gauze pads, bandaid wraps, and antiseptics for cleaning wounds. The last thing we need is for her injuries to become infected," I said.

"I'll be back soon," Parker nodded and walked out the door.

I wanted to see how Evelyn was doing, so I entered her room and saw her trying to walk. "Whoa, don't try to move," I walked up to her and helped her return to bed. "How are you feeling?"

"Sore. What the hell happened? The last thing I remember is being with Vinnie, and I got shot!" Evelyn gasped.

"Relax," I placed my hand on her shoulder.

"What happened?" Evelyn asked.

"Yeah, you were shot. Someone tried to kill Vinnie, and you were caught in the crossfire. He also used you as a shield," I explained.

"This is all your fault! You sent me there," Evelyn growled as she looked at me with disdain and anger.

"Let me check your wounds," I said.

"Don't touch me!" Evelyn smacked my hand away from her. She got back up from the bed and walked quickly to the bathroom.

"Evelyn, I need to clean your wounds. Please, if they are not cleaned, they will get infected, and trust me, that is the last thing you want right now," I said, acting reasonably.

"I was shot because of you," Evelyn said.

"Fine, you were shot because of me. Now quit fucking sulking and let me clean your wounds," I grunted, having enough of Evelyn's nonsense.

"You're not cleaning my wounds," Evelyn said.

"Fine, suits me, babe. Take off your top, and I'll go and get Parker to clean them," I smiled.

"I'm not taking my top off in front of Parker?" Evelyn stepped back.

"It's either me or Parker, so make up your damn mind," I scoffed.

"I hate you!" Evelyn spat out.

"I'm sure I'll survive. Now, what will it be? I'm a busy man," I said, then I had to wait a few seconds for Evelyn to respond.

"Just do it, you asshole," Evelyn groaned.

I rolled my eyes and got some medical supplies already in the medicine cabinet for emergencies. "This might sting a bit,"

When I placed my hands on Evelyn's skin while I was cleaning her wounds, she shivered. I gently cleaned each wound while I felt a weird connection, but I brushed it off. I'm sure Evelyn felt it but didn't show it. I can think that Evelyn wanted me and hated herself for it. "All done," I said.

"I'll be at the warehouse. If you need anything, call Parker," I said.

"Okay," Evelyn nodded, and I left the bathroom.

Evelyn

I felt well enough to stand in the penthouse living room. I looked at my phone and saw over fifty texts from Dylan; maybe I should text him back. Before I could open my phone, I received another message from Dylan. I opened it with fear on my face.

This is your last chance, Evelyn. Do you remember those pictures I took of you? They will be on the Internet if I don't hear from you soon.

Oh no! I have to make sure he doesn't post those horrible pictures. Don't you dare, Dylan, I will go to the cops.

Like, I give a shit about the cops. I'll see you soon, my dear.

What am I going to do? I have to go and meet him now. I dialed Dylan's number, and he immediately picked up. "It's me Dylan,"

"You're lucky you called; you were just about out of time," I heard Dylan laugh.

"Where do you want to meet?" I asked him.

"At my house," Dylan said.

"I think a cafe or somewhere public would be better, Dylan," I protested.

"I said my house, you have one hour," Dylan then hung up.

I had to go to his house and get those photos. Dylan may be dangerous, but I must obey his rules to get what I need. I hope everything goes well.
