The Heat is On
Evelyn
I woke up the following day after dinner with Damian; I still couldn't believe I was officially a member of The Black Dragons. Dylan was furious last night; I hope he doesn't try anything. I also remember Damian saying I was his woman; why would he say that? I'll have to ask him why he said that after I shower. Seeing that asshole made me feel dirty.
I went to look for Damian in the kitchen, but he wasn't there. Then I heard something break in the living room. Damian was yelling at someone; the question was, who? "Are you sure they're planning to attack?" Damian said. I couldn't hear what the other guy on the phone was saying, but I knew this was important, so I decided to sit on the couch and wait for him to finish.
"But is the source reliable, Greg? Call off the heist for now, and we'll arrange it another time and tell everyone to stay home today; I want everyone to lie low until I give further instructions." Damian took a deep breath, turned around, and saw me.
Well, there's trouble brewing. "Ah, Evelyn, I was about to call for you,"
"It sounded pretty bad on the phone," I nodded.
"Yeah, all jobs are off today, and everyone is lying low, so is there anything you need to do?" Damian asked me.
"Like what?" I cocked my head to the side.
"You know, girl things," Damian said. Wait, is he blushing?
"Yeah, new pajamas, shampoo, bits and pieces," I said. I also need a new bra and underwear, but I won't tell him.
"Evelyn, move your ass!" Damian yelled.
We both exited the building, got into his car, and drove to the store. "So why is everyone lying low today?" I need to act like I didn't hear a part of his conversation; he might get a little pissed.
"We were tipped off about an attack on us, but we'll be fine," Damian said as he brushed my leg and changed gears. I kept my eyes on the road and hoped he did not notice me jump at his touch. I swear I felt electricity shooting through my body.
"We're here," Damian said, flicking his cigarette out the window.
While we were at the store, Damian was hesitant about letting me enter the pharmacy alone, but when I said women's stuff, he backed down and allowed me to get what I needed. He gave me a card and told me to get whatever I needed.
When we got to the clothes store, Damian instructed me to get all-black clothes and outfits in the warehouse when I needed to get information for him. He then let me on my way to get what I needed for work and waited til I finished.
(One Hour Later)
I returned to Damian, wearing an all-black outfit. "About time!" Damian said while looking at his phone; then he looked at me. "I like it. I also saw the upmarket dress you picked out, and that looked stunning on you; our enemies won't be able to resist you.
I got back in the dressing room and put on my work outfit. "Lose the jacket," Damian said. I had this jacket on because, with it, I feel unexposed, but I took it off as instructed regardless of my mind telling me to keep it on.
"Better," Damian nodded.
"I'll change into my normal clothes and pay," I said.
(Later that Night)
I love my new clothes, and my new shampoo works wonders for my hair. I also need to talk to Damian and see if I can get my phone back. It's been a few hours since I last saw him; maybe Avery knows if he has seen Damian.
I knocked on Avery's door. "Hey, Avery, can I come in?" I asked.
"Sure, what do you need?" Avery said as he opened his door while holding a book.
"Have you seen Damian, Avery? I need to speak with him, but I can't seem to find him," I said.
"You can find him in the gaming room; he is there to play pool or get a drink. It's the floor underneath us; go to the elevator and down.′ Avery explained.
"Thank you so much, Avery," I smiled at him. Teenagers are right; they are so obsessed with technology. He nodded and went straight back to his phone.
When I got to the game room, I noticed that I was dressed in my night clothes and my hair was tied up; why did I not change before trying to talk to him? "Damian, can I talk to you."
"Ah, Evelyn, what's up?" Damian said when he faced me and revealed that he was talking to Jenna, who was staring at me coldly.
"I needed to talk to you. I didn't know anyone was here or I would've gotten dressed." I said.
"That's fine; Jenna was just leaving," Damian said.
"Was I?" Jenna said.
"Yes, you were; now, leave," Damian ordered. Jenna was trying to get a kiss, but Damian stepped back.
"What are you doing?" Damian growled.
"Kissing you goodbye," Jenna cooed. I scoffed softly at her attempt to seduce Damian; it was sad to see this.
"Get out of here, Jenna, and don't pull a stunt like that, or your out. I'll deal with you tomorrow." Damian pointed to the door.
Jenna left us alone, but I was frozen, seeing him yell at her like that. "Don't run off, Evelyn; I wasn't going to hit her. She tried to kiss me first, and I shut her down. She has been trying to get into a relationship with me for as long as I can remember, and still, she won't get the hint that I'm not interested in her. I don't hit women, Evelyn," Damian said.
"But you kill them, right?" I asked.
"I have no problem killing those that are a threat," Damian said proudly. "But I don't hit women, period. Now, what did you want to talk about?"
"I need my phone back," I said, getting to the point.
"I'll get you a new phone," Damian said.
"No, my grandmother lives in the United Kingdom, and she'll be trying to contact me on that number," I said.
"I will have Greg add her number to your phone, and you can tell her that you have a new number when she calls you. Do you need anything else?" Damian said.
"Are you and Jenna in a relationship?" I said nervously.
"As I said before, no. Why do you ask?" Damian tilted his head.
"Jenna doesn't seem to like me very much," I said.
"Jenna doesn't like anyone," Damian said.
"I don't trust her," I said bluntly.
"Jenna knows her place," Damian growled.
"She didn't seem to know her place when she tried to kiss you," I said.
Damian got closer to me. "Am I sensing jealousy?"
"No, she behaves like you're in a relationship," I said.
Damian smiled. "I've tapped her a few times, but they were meaningless ways to relieve stress." Damian touched my shoulders. "You're gorgeous, you know."
"Am I?" I said with doubt.
"I think you know deep down you are beautiful. You have everyone fooled with this shy girl act you've got going on. Also, let your hair down; I like when women let their hair loose." Damian pulled the pin that kept my hair up, placed it on the counter, and kissed me.
Damian smelt incredible, and damn, he kissed me passionately. My brain willed me to resist him, but my body had other ideas. "Do you want to do this?" Damian whispered in my ear. He looked into my eyes, my voice caught in my throat, and all I could manage was a nod. With my response, he started to kiss me again, and we ended up in the bedroom.
"Do you have anything?" I said. "I'm not on birth control,"
"Damn it. I'll be back in a minute." Damian closed the door to his bedroom when he left.
Great, now what do I do? I decided to lie on the bed and wait for him, but my eyes were getting heavy. What the hell is he?
