The Awakening

Damian

At last, I will have the information that I want. Dylan was ready to talk and said he would tell me everything.

"But first, what's in it for me?" Dylan crossed his arms as he sat in the chair.

"I don't make deals with dogs like you," I huffed.

"That's up to you, but just remember that I know everything," Dylan said.

"Yeah, like what?" I said with doubt.

"I know the who put the bounty on Ezra's head, I know who wants him dead," Dylan smiled. "Like who Robert works for,"

I scoffed. "What do you want?"

"I want to be set free after I tell you everything and one million in cash. I plan on disappearing for good, as I'm sure Robert will hunt me down for betraying everyone to save my own skin," Dylan said. "Do you have a deal?"

Dylan is an idiot; he should know better than he will only leave this place in a body bag, but I need that information. I'm going to kill Dylan anyway. I don't believe it's my fault he doesn't know this. "Fine, we have a deal; who put the bounty on Ezra's head?" I asked.

"The Setaros," Dylan said.

I laughed at this. My mother and father defeated that family years ago. "Are you trying to be funny? My parents took out The Setaros years ago and any of them that they let live pledged allegenece to the Black Dragons," I explained.

"Well, The Setaros are back," Dylan said.

"Bullshit. No one was left with enough loyalty to take over as leader of the Setaros. My father made sure of that," I said.

"Well, your parents didn't do a good job because they missed one," Dylan said.

"Impossible, my parents personally killed every man, woman, and child of the Blossom family," I said.

"Not the illegitimate one, and his name is Robert Blossom," Dylan laughed.

"You're a damn liar! Every member of the Blossom family is dead," I growled. "It's that simple,"

"Look, I'm telling you the truth," Dylan said.

"I don't believe a damn word your saying!" I roared.

"You should because Robert will not stop until Evelyn and Ezra die by his han," Dylan said.

"Where is Robert now?" I asked.

"I don't know where the main base is, but I do know they have a safe house across town in South Bronx," Dylan said.

"Thank you for the information, Dylan. Pheonix, Artem, kill him!" I ordered.

"Wait, I thought we had a deal!"

"Like I said before, I don't make deals with dogs," I walked out of the cell and heard gunshots as I walked up the stairs. Evelyn will never have to worry about that bastard again.

(Few Hours Later)

"Phoenix, is Dylan dead?" I asked.

"Yeah, Dylan is dead and out of our lives forever. Do you think he was telling the truth about Robert?" He asked me.

"I don't know but it's the only thing that makes sense right now," I said.

"How could your parents have missed him all those years ago? Now, it seems that the parents mistakes are now biting the next genartion in the ass and that's us," Pheonix said.

"My parents were fooled, but I'm guessing Robert was kept hidden on purpose. I'm sure Robert pulled the trigger at the wedding; he was trying to kill Evelyn," I said.

"So what's our next move?" Phoenix asked me.

"Find their safe house in the Bronx and put surveillance on it. I want you to do it personally, Pheonix. I can't risk Robert finding out that we're on to him and going to ground," I said.

"Leave it to me," Pheonix nodded quickly.

"Robert is going to die; that's a given," I smiled. "His days are numbered,"

(A Few Days Later)

I called Pheonix to meet me in my dining room and update me on whether he had put the surveillance on it and whether it had yielded any results. "You called for me?" Pheonix said.

"Yeah, sit down," I said while holding Ezra. "Has the surveillance on the safe house showed up anything?"

"There's been a few people coming and going but no sight of Robert yet," Pheonix reported.

"Damn, I want no one to make a move in that place until we have a definite sighting on Robert. Now, I'm going to the hospital to check on Evelyn. I want you to look after Ezra for a while," I said. "They're going to attempt to bring Evelyn out of her coma," Ezra griped on my shirt tightly.

"I hope it all works out," Pheonix smiled.

"I hope so too," I nodded.

I ruffled my son's hair and left him with Phoenix. I drove to the hospital, where Gregory stood guard by her door. "Anything happening?" I asked Greg.

"No, but there have been doctors and nurses going in and out all morning," Greg said.

"They're getting ready to bring Evelyn out of her coma and for everyone's sake, they better succeed," I huffed.

I entered Evelyn's hospital room and saw her nurse working on her. "Everything alright?" I asked.

"Everything is fine, Mr Halliwell. She didn't need life support when she got here, so I'm optimistic that she will wake up with a small dose of Zolpidem. Evelyn's vitals are stable, and everything looks good," the nurse said as she left the room.

I pulled one of the chairs by the window, sat beside Evelyn, and held her hand. "Evelyn, I know you can pull through from this. Ezra needs you, our unborn child needs you, I need you,"

I waited a few hours for any changes, but nothing happened. I decided to leave. "Any news yet?" Greg asked as I walked out of the room.

"No, but the good news is that she's still breathing. I'll take any blessing I can get, big or small. I'm going to get a coffee, you want one?"

"No, I'm good," Greg smiled.

"Alright, I'll be back soon," I walked to the cafeteria, grabbed a coffee, and returned to Evelyn's room. "I'll be happy to see the back of this hospital, Greg," I scoffed.

"While you were gone, a man named Doctor Smith showed up. No identification and was pissed when I wouldn't let him in," Greg told me.

"Weird, I'll ask the nurse about him," I said.

I waited for the nurse to come back and check on Evelyn. She did what she usually did. "Is Evelyn doing okay?" I asked.

"Evelyn was showing signs of distress, but I stopped it before anything serious happened, the nurse said.

"Were you expecting a Doctor Smith to assess Evelyn?" I asked.

"No," she shook her head. "We don't have a Doctor Smith working at this hospital.

So, who the hell did Gregory encounter while I was getting coffee? Unless it was Robert or one of his men!! My eyes widened at this realization, and I quickly ran out of the hospital. This encounter happened not too long ago, so Robert could still be nearby. Now, where the hell is he? I returned to Evelyn's room and called Parker and Artem to come and scout the area around the hospital and search for Robert. I hope they find some trace of him here.

"Time to wake up, Evelyn. We really need to get out of New York for a while," I waited for a response, but nothing.

I called Artem to see if he had found him, but he said he and Parker had found no trace.

"Damian?" I heard a sweet voice, and I turned around, dropped my phone, and met with the most precious sky-blue eyes. Evelyn woke up.

"You're awake!" I smiled. "Are you okay? How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay, where's Ezra? Where's our son?" Evelyn said weakly.

I took her hand. "Ezra's safe; hold on, and I'll get the nurse.

I got the nurse and left the room to let her do her job. "So, Evelyn's awake?" Gregory said.

"Yeah, the nurse is with her now. Evelyn was talking and asking for Ezra," I nodded. "I would feel a lot better if we had Robert in lockup,"

"And we will get him at the soonest opportunity, don't worry, we'll get the bastard," Greg smirked.

After a few minutes, I called Pheonix to bring Ezra to the hospital. The nurse wanted to know if I wanted to tell her about the baby, but I said I would. I want Evelyn to see the joy on my face. I hope that Evelyn will be happy that she's pregnant. "The fact that Evelyn hasn't yet miscarried is a positive sign; she's still in the early stages of pregnancy,"

Is it okay to bring my son in to see his mother?" I asked.

"I don't see why not. But Evelyn will need lots of rest," the nurse said.

"Understood," I said.

The nurse left the room, and I saw Evelyn already sitting up. "Look at you, already sitting up,"

"Damian, what's going on?" Evelyn asked me.

"Nothing, why?" I shrugged.

"Is it Ezra? Did something happen to Ezra?" Evelyn looked into my eyes.

"Evelyn, I swear to you that Ezra is safe," I said.

"Damian, there is something you are not telling me. I know you, what are you hiding from me?" Evelyn softly growled.

I took a deep breath. Evelyn will not like what I'm about to tell her.
