Part of the Family

Evelyn

I woke up the following day feeling refreshed; the bed was so comfortable that I never wanted to leave it. It's a shame that I can't stay here forever. Now, what should I do? Can I leave this room to get some food? What if I meet Damian again? Isn't this his home? Whatever, I'm too hungry to care about this fact right now.

I entered the kitchen and saw Damian's backside. Oh my god, why is he hot? I can only imagine what he looks like on the front.

Damian then turned around and saw me eyeing him. "Something wrong?" He said.

Damian snapped me out of my daze. "I'm sorry,"

"Spit it out. I don't have all day!" Damian scoffed.

"I was in a world of my own; I'm sorry," I said.

"Sit; I made breakfast," Damian asked politely.

I wanted to know if I should accept what he gave me. I bet he poisoned it. "I'm not hungry,"

"I don't recall asking you if you were hungry. Now sit!" He demanded.

"You're not the boss of me," I said. My mind was screaming at me. What are you doing, Evelyn? Do you have a death wish?

"What did you say to me? I'm sure I didn't hear you right," Damian growled.

"I said I'm not sure who owns this shirt, but I had to borrow it last night," I said. I knew he was giving me a chance to change what I said.

"It's fine; now sit and eat," Damian said as he gave me a plate of pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs.

"Thank you," I said as I took the plate and sat at the table. Everything tasted delicious, but I won't tell him that. He is such a control freak, and after the slight confrontation with him, I feel like I need another shower, but should I ask permission first? I stared at him, wanting to ask a question, but couldn't get a word out.

"What is it?" Damian said. "You look like you have something to say, so say it,"

"I wanted to use the shower if that's okay with you," I said

"Knock yourself out, and Tala brought some clothes over; they're in the closet," Damian said

"Thank you," I nodded. Is Tala his girlfriend?

"Do you need anything else?" Damian asked.

"No," I smiled as I returned to my room and took another shower. After I got out, I put one on one of the outfits Tala got me. I wonder what this girl is and what she looks like. But this yellow dress looks like the best of the bed.

I'd be in so much trouble if Dylan could see me now. I was staring at the fogged-up mirror and hearing the scream I made when he hit me or beat me against the wall. Get it together, Evelyn. I exited the bedroom and heard yelling from the living room. I soon discovered it was Damian and another man who looked like him.

"I'm warning you, Avery. If you keep this shit up, I'll put you in a boarding school." Damian yelled.

"Oh fuck off, Damian, you can't tell me what to do. I'm 18 years old; I'm not a child." The boy named Avery said.

"I don't give a fuck; if any of Hotch's men see you, they'll kill you," Damian said.

"Then you shouldn't have killed their leader," Avery said.

"I did what I had to do. It was him or us, and I chose us," Damian shouted.

"We have a visitor," Avery said. Damian turned around, and Avery took the chance to run away.

"Avery, get the fuck back here now!" Damian growled, but he didn't follow him. "I see that you got the clothes."

"Yeah, thank you." I smiled.

"Evelyn, we need to talk about what you've seen and what you plan on doing with the information," Damian said.

"They killed a man," I said, shaking.

"He deserved to die, and don't say that no one deserves to die bullshit; he was the leader of the Blood Rose Cartel," Damian said.

"Aren't you a leader of a group as well?" I asked.

"I am, but I don't kill innocent people," Damian explained.

"Do the Blood Roses kill innocent people?" I asked him.

"They do, and they tried to kill Avery, my little brother," Damian said. "Look, I can't let you put my people at risk; whether you live or die depends on you. I know you are homeless and don't have any family."

"Wait! How do you know that?" I gasped.

"I have my sources, Evelyn. You can choose to go to the police, but I promise you that you won't get there alive, or you can join The Black Dragons and always have a roof over your head and a family."

"What are The Black Dragons?" I cocked my head

"I'm the leader of The Black Dragons, and I'm going to throw a party tonight so you can have some time to meet some of the members before making a decision," Damian said

"That will help, thank you." I smiled.

"Okay, I'll set it up. Get some rest." Damian said.

"Why do you want me to join your gang?" I said before walking off.

"It will save me the trouble of having to kill you myself. You do know that there is no way out of here. I own this entire building, and you're on the top floor." Damian smirked.

"I won't try to escape. I tell it like it is." I walked back to my room to rest for a while. A few hours passed, and I saw a dress on the bed. I wanted to try it on, but Damian walked in when I was fully undressed.

"Fuck me!" Damian said with shock.

"Get out of here, you pervert," I said as I put my bra and underwear on."

"I didn't know you had a habit of walking around naked. Do you need any help?" Damian said seductively as he winked.

"NO, GET OUT!" I yelled.

"Okay, chill, babe." Damian laughed, and he walked out.

"Asshole!" After taking a few deep breaths, I put on the black dress with silver jewelry. Damn, this is amazing. Everything looks and feels expensive, but this dress is low-cut. Get a grip, Evelyn. You're not with Dylan anymore. He can't hurt you anymore. I can wear whatever the hell I want.

I entered the room and felt like everyone was staring at me. Damian approached me and gave me a reassuring smile. "You okay?" He asked me.

I nodded. "Yeah, let's get this done."

Damian nodded. "Everyone, this is Evelyn Jones, and she's considering joining the Dragons. You are all here tonight for some introductions and to let Evelyn see how things work. First, I would like you to meet Tala; she joined us five years ago. She handles any undercover work that we need to be done,"

"Hey girl, welcome to the Dragons." Tala gave a warm smile.

"Next up is my brother, Avery. Avery is in his last year of school, so he isn't involved much with the Dragons yet." Damian said.

"I have an essay due tomorrow, Damian, are we done yet?" Avery said with annoyance.

"Then go do it," Damian rolled his eyes at him. "Moving on, meet Jenna,"

Jenna was staring at me coldly and rolled her eyes. "Is there a problem, Jenna?" Damian sneered

"No, boss." Jenna whimpered.

"Good, keep it that way. Jenna has been with us for two years and mainly deals with the drug side of the business." Damian explained.

I shuddered when he mentioned drugs, but I guess that is used to keep the money flowing for guns and ammunition. Also, everyone can bring home a fair wage if things go smoothly.

"Now, you already met Parker and Gregory, who you've already had the bad fortune of meeting. But these two have been with me from the start, and they deal with everything, but mainly hits. We have a few more members that I want you to meet, but they are on the job tonight; you'll meet them soon." Damian said.

"I'll give you my answer in the morning," I said.

"I hope you'll make the right choice Evelyn; goodnight," Damian said.
