Mother Russia

Evelyn

"Damian, I'm begging you, what are you not telling me?" I yelled, demanding an answer.

"Evelyn, Robert put the bounty on Ezra's head," Damian said.

I was shocked by Damian's words. Robert has been kind to Ezra for the two years he has known him. Robert couldn't have done this. "Are you crazy? Robert is my friend, he would never do that!"

"Robert's also the one that shot you at the wedding. Would a friend do that? Would a friend kill a friend and her child?" Damian scoffed.

I laughed softly. "You really need to stop with this crap, Damian,"

"I will when Robert Blossom is dead," Damian smiled.

"His name is not Robert Blossom," I groaned.

"Yes, it is, Evelyn, and he is the leader of The Setaros," Damian said.

"Who the hell are The Setaros?" I asked.

"They're our biggest enemy, and Robert won't stop until you and Ezra are dead," Damian said.

I shook my head. "No, I refuse to believe this,"

"I asked for the truth, Evelyn, and you got it. What you choose to do now is up to you. I hope you will believe everything I've told you for Ezra's sake and that of our unborn child," Damian said. "I don't want you to see Robert again and if you go behind my back, I'll," But before Damian could speak another word, I spoke up.

"You'll what, Damian? What will you do?" I growled.

"I will take Ezra and you will never see him again," Damian threatened.

"You wouldn't?!" I gasped.

"Oh, I would, Evelyn, I will not allow you to put our son's life in danger, and that goes for our child growing in your womb. Make no mistake, Evelyn, I will do whatever it takes to protect our children. Even if it means wiping every memory, Ezra has of you if it keeps him safe," Damian said.

I stepped back, shaking my head at him, and walked out the door. I went to the rooftop of the mansion. I can't believe that Damian threatened to take my children away from me. I hate him so much.

"Evelyn, honey, you need to come down off the roof," I heard Pheonix say. "You're playing havoc with my security sensors and it's setting alarms all over the place," Pheonix paused for a moment and saw that I was crying. "Hey, you okay?"

I wiped my eyes. "I'd be okay if I could get Damian out of my life,"

Pheonix laughed softly. "Damian's your husband now, Evelyn, you're stuck with him,"

"Don't remind me, I hate him," I said.

"What did Damian do this time?" Pheonix asked.

"Damian expects me to believe that Robert is behind the attack at our wedding and the bounty on Ezra's head," I said.

"Evelyn, Damian has told you the truth," Pheonix said. "If Damian told you everything, why are you acting like this? I get that you're pregnant and all, but give the man a break. He's doing all he can to protect you and Ezra, and all this Blossom business is a sore subject for him,"

"I don't need protection from Robert. Damian has got it all wrong, and now he's saying he will take Ezra away from me if I have any contact with Robert," I said.

"Damian, is your husband and the father of your children, and are you really going to side with Robert? The man who killed Damian's parents in cold blood?" Pheonix growled and walked away. "Fuck this,"

Robert killed Damian's parents? Am I the one that has it wrong?

(The Next Morning)

I barely slept a wink after thinking about my talk with Pheonix and what he said. Did Robert kill Damian's parents? That would explain why Damian was so angry that he threatened to take Ezra from me. But why didn't Damian tell me himself?

Damian entered my room abruptly. "Damian!"

"Get dressed; we are leaving for Russia in a few hours," Damian said.

"You could have knocked, Damian, I'm not dressed," I said calmly.

"You're my damn wife; it's nothing I haven't seen before," Damian scoffed.

"Damian, can we talk?" I asked.

"Okay, what's on your mind," Damian leaned on the wall.

"Is it true that Robert killed your parents?" I asked him. Damian face turned pale, but his face quickly turned to anger.

"Who told you that?" Damian stood straight.

"Pheonix, we talked and I've been thinking about some of the stuff he said." I told him.

"Pheonix has a big mouth, but yes, it's true. I never told you because you are pregnant and stress is bad for the baby," Damian answered.

"I'm so sorry," tears started to fall.

"Evelyn, we talked about this crying crap. When women cry, I get very uncomfortable," Damian then hugged me. "It's even worse when the crying woman is my pregnant wife,"

"I cried for the whole pregnancy on Ezra. I cried over everything," I chuckled.

"For you fucking with me?" Damian cracked a smile.

"No, I'm being serious," I laughed. I will try to keep my crying under control." Damian pressed his lips against mine and wrapped my arms around him. I should hate him, but why am I loving this? No, I'm not loving this; I'm craving more of him. "We shouldn't be doing this," I said.

"We're married I think we're allowed. Now let me take take your pajama off so I can fuck you. At least I won't get you pregnant this time," Damian joked. "But let's see if I put another child inside that pregnant belly,"

I giggled as he took off my clothes.

After our quickie, we boarded the jet to the airport. Artem and Phoenix were joining us, "Are we staying in Russia for Christmas?"

"Yeah, it's only a few weeks until Christmas. I'll stay until Christmas is over and then I have to go back," Damian said.

"You're coming back here without us? I'm guessing you don't want Ezra and I home until Robert is dead?" I said.

"I have to track him down for Ezra and your safety," Damian caressed my arm. I nodded and smiled.

I then had to endure the most prolonged 14 hours of my life on a plane to Russia. We landed in Moscow, the Capital of Russia, where Damian's family lives—well, his mother's side of the family. We then drove in black cars outside the city to a large mansion. "Damian, who owns this place?"

Damian smiled at me. "I do. Well, my parents bought it as a holiday home not long before they died. My mother was born in Moscow; she brought me here so I could learn about my Russian heritage. This house will be your home for the next few months."

We entered the house, which looked like a gigantic log cabin. Furs from animals on the floor, large fireplaces, and heads of deer, yaks, and bears decorated the walls. Still, one thing caught my eye: a painting of a handsome man and the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. They were both holding a child who looked no older than three. "That's me and my parents," Damian kissed his fingers and touched the painting.

I smiled and turned my attention to Ezra, looking around the living room. "What do you think, Ezra?" I asked.

"I see a Christmas tree!" Ezra cheered.

"Hey, I'll be back in a few hours. Pheonix will be here if you need anything," Damian said.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm just going to my aunt's house down the road. I won't be long," Damian said.

"Alright, I'll make some dinner," I smiled.

"Good luck; everything here is in Russian," Damian laughed.

Damian

Just down the road is my Uncle Nikolai and Aunt Vera's house; I entered the house with Artem. "Mama? Papa? I'm home," Artem yelled.

"Boys, you made it," Nikolai smiled as he wiped his hands with a towel.

"Where's mom?" Artem asked.

"She's around here somewhere," Artem walked off to look for Aunt Vera. "Damian, son, it's been so long,"

"It has, Uncle, it's good to be back," I smiled.

"Where's the wife and son?" Dimitri asked.

"They're settling in, and must adapt to the new time zone. I'll bring them to meet you soon," I said.

"I'm looking forward to meeting them," Dimitri smiled.

I then heard a female gasp. "Damian?!" I turned to see my aunt. Vera quickly embraced me. "Damian, my favorite boy, I can't believe you're here,"

"Good to see you too, Aunty," I hugged her back.

"Your mother would be so proud of the fine man you grew into," Vera said.

"Thank you," I said.

"Vera, will you please let the poor man breathe," Nikolai scoffed.

Vera laughed and let go of me. "Now, where is that son of yours? Artem has told me so much about him?"

"They're at the house, I'll bring them to meet you soon," I smiled.

"Well, you can bring Evelyn to meet us tonight. We're having a family dinner to celebrate your return. It will be a little late for Ezra, but we can have an actual family dinner another time," Vera said.

"Auntie, you don't need to do that," I shook my head.

"I'm so happy and everyone wants to see you," Vera smiled.

"Okay, thank you, I can get Pheonix to watch over Ezra while I bring Evelyn here," I said

"I'm so sorry that we couldn't come to America for Avery's funeral. I didn't cope well very well with the news," Vera's eyes welled with tears.

"Come on, Vera, don't start working yourself up," Nikolai touched her shoulder.

"You're right, my love, this is a joyous occasion. My beloved sister's son has come home to the motherland. I'll see you at eight pm sharp," Vera said.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world," I smiled as Vera walked away.

"We will talk about Setaros tomorrow, don't want to ruin good night," Nikolai said.

"Sure, anyway I should get back, I'll see you at eight," I said.

When I returned to the house, Evelyn was feeding Ezra. "Damian, I just made dinner. Are you hungry?" Evelyn smiled.

"No, we will be eating at a dinner party that my aunt is throwing for us. I'm going to go shower, and we will head straight there," I explained.

"Dinner party?" Evelyn shook her head. No, it's too soon to meet your side of the family; I don't know how to speak Russian! I can't leave Ezra.

"Relax, my family doesn't bite and Pheonix will look after Ezra," I smiled.

"Yay, Pheonix!" Ezra clapped.

"Pheonix brought our bags upstairs, our room is the first door on the left," I said.

After I took my shower, I was about to dress myself, but Evelyn walked into our room after she got dressed for the dinner party. "You look good," I didn't realize I still had a towel around my waist.

"Thank you. Should you not be ready by now?" Evelyn said nervously while I cracked a smile.

"Are you sure you don't want to spend some time with your husband before I get dressed?" I winked.

"What?!" Evelyn's face flushed red as I put her on the spot.

"Damn, Evelyn, I knocked you up twice, and you're still acting shy around me. But I still find that shyness very sexy," I kissed her cheek. I know she was looking at me as I got dressed. "Like what you see? Now, if your done looking, let's go, pervert," I winked.

"I'm not a pervert!" Evelyn protested.

"Hey, I caught you checking me out. If the shoe were on the other foot, you'd be calling me a pervert. Lucky for you I'm your husband," I smiled.

As I left the bedroom, I heard Evelyn mumbling to herself.

"That arrogant, cocky, sexy asshole," Evelyn groaned. "That man is doing my head in,"
