It's All Over
Damian
Viktoriya screamed in pain as Sookie fired a bullet into Viktoriya's shoulder. "You took your damn time,"
"You never gave the signal, boss. I just got tired of waiting," Sookie blew on the tip of her gun.
"You stupid American bitch, you got me in the shoulder," Viktoriya cried out in pain.
"You're lucky you're the boss's cousin, or this American bitch would have shot you in the damn head," Sookie scoffed.
"That's still a possibility! Pheonix, take her to the warehouse and lock her up," I ordered.
"Glady," Pheonix took a pair of handcuffs from his bag and placed them on Viktoriya. He took her away after that.
"It's over, babe. Eveything is going to be okay," I finally got my wife back. Uncle Nikolai will not like what I'm going to tell him.
(A Few Days Later)
"Good morning, husband," Evelyn's voice woke me up. She was already fully dressed, while I was only wearing sweatpants to bed.
"What has you in such high sprites this morning?" I smiled.
"Life! Always looking at the bright side of it. I'm making that my new motto," Evelyn said.
"And no more giving your husbands headaches?" I joked. "Can that be you new motto too?"
Evelyn giggled. "I'll be on my best behavior from now on," Evelyn winked.
"I'll believe it when I see it," I said.
"How's Parker? Is he doing okay?" Evelyn asked.
"He's doing good. Samson said he should be up and about in a few days. I don't want you to see him until he fully recoveres. You can see him when he comes home," I said.
"Parker got shot because of me, Damian. I want to see him," Evelyn protested.
"You call this being on your best behavior?" I said.
"Stop trying to control me and I'll behave," Evelyn furrowed her eyes.
"You do understand that Viktoriya is at the lock up right?" I said.
"You haven't killed the bitch yet?" Evelyn shook her head. "Unbelievable,"
"Viktoriya is family, Evelyn. Plus, I think Artem's death hit her harder than we realized. She needs professional help," I said.
"You're right. I'm sorry," Evelyn said.
"I called my uncle a few days ago, and I believe he will be arriving later today to take her back to Russia. Hopefully, Nikolai will get her the help she needs. Get ready, I'm going to take you to see Parker," I said.
I took Evelyn to the warehouse and guided her to Parker. I waited outside to spend some time alone with him. I can hear them talking.
"Parker, I'm so sorry for what happened to you, this is all my fault," Evelyn said.
"Hey, don't blame yourself for this. It was my job to protect you and even if it wasn't, I still would. I'm sure I'll get a hefty bonus from your husband for this," Parker laughed softly.
He'll be getting that bonus, alright. "And you have earned every penny of it," I sense Evelyn smiling.
Evelyn said her goodbyes and left the room. Evelyn smiled. "I feel better now, thanks for letting me see him,"
"You're welcome, love. Nikolai is here, so I'm going to take him to Viktoriya. Find Pheonix and he will take you home," I said.
"I want to come with you," Evelyn said.
"I'm not allowing you anywhere here, Viktoriya, and that's final. Don't push me on this," I said.
Pheonix took Evelyn home when I called him, and I met with my uncle. His face filled with shame and guilt over his daughter's actions. We entered the cell I threw my cousin in. "Damian, I'm so sorry about all this," Nikolai said.
"It's not your fault, but if she ever tries anything like this again," I got right in his face. "Family or not, I will kill her," I backed away.
"It will never happen again, you have my word. As soon as I get her back to Russia, I'll get her the help my daughter needs," Nikolai said.
"Hey, don't talk about me like I'm not here," Viktoriya scoffed.
Nikolai approached his daughter and smacked her across the face. "What in God's name has gotten into you?"
"Damian kill Artem. He needs to pay for what's he's done," Viktoriya yelled.
"Your brother's death was an accident. You're lucky to be alive after this little stunt," Nikolai snarled.
"Damian hasn't got the balls to kill me," Viktoriuya snickered.
"Oh I have and I will, if you ever threaten my family again," I growled.
"Go ahead then, Damian, shoot me, I dare you. I will not stop until I have my revenge," Viktoriya screamed.
"That's enough, Viktoriya! Damian, thank you, I owe you," Nikolai smiled.
"You don't owe me anything, uncle, we're family. I will stop come to Russia sometime in the future to visit, but not for a while. It will take some time to forgive," I said. "Maybe I'll come after the baby is born,"
"Please do, your aunt would love to see you again," Nikolai smiled.
"Have a safe flight home," I said.
"Look after yourself, son," my uncle and I shook hands, and he left with Viktoriya.
When I saw my cousin and uncle leave, I asked Sookie to meet with me. "Boss, you wanted to speak with me?" Sookie said as she poured herself a glass of gin.
"I wanted to say thank you for the other day," I said.
"For saving your ass? My pleasure, boss, it's what you pay me for," Sookie gave me a laugh. She took her drink and went to talk with the others. I saw Phoenix approaching me.
"Pheonix, did Evelyn return home okay?" I asked.
"She did, how did things go with your uncle?" Pheonix said.
"Good, my uncle has gone back to Russia with Viktoriya. She was never this crazy when Artem was alive. Hopefully, with the proper treatment, she can return to the Viktoriya I know and love," I said.
"Well, I'm happy to see the back side of that crazy bitch," Pheonix said, pouring me a glass of scotch.
"You and me both. Here's to a few months of peace before the baby arrives and the real fun will start," We clicked our glasses and drank.
(A Few Months Later)
It's almost time for the baby to arrive, and Evelyn has been getting moodier and moodier as the months have dragged on. She was less than pleased when I said that I wouldn't be able to be there for the last ultrasound before the baby arrived. I have to get everything in order before I take time off to spend time with Evelyn and our newborn daughter when she comes.
Coop took Evelyn to the hospital while I went to the warehouse to get everything in order. Ugh, the sooner the baby leaves Evelyn's womb, the better.
I slammed the door behind me, and Pheonix looked at my annoyed face. "What's up with you bro?"
"Evelyn was giving me an earache. She was mad that I couldn't go to the hospital appointment today. But the way she's behaving you would think I tapped her sister," I said.
"But Evelyn doesn't have a sister," Pheonix said.
"It's an example, you idiot!" I grunted.
"Hey, Parker, the boss is in the dog house," Pheonix yelled over to Parker.
Parker laughed. "Again? What the hell did you do this time?"
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not in the damn dog house,"
"Damian is not taking Evelyn to her hospital appointment today," Pheonix said.
"I'm fucking busy, Coop's taking her," I said.
"Coop isn't the baby daddy," Parker said. "Do you want to be sleeping on the couch for a month?"
"Come on, it's a damn hospital appointment. I can't drop everything every time Evelyn decides to throw a tantrum," I scoffed.
"You can still fix this; just take her to the hospital, Pheonix, and I will cover things here. You can count on us to handle anything related to the Black Dragons; just focus on Evelyn. Can get pretty cold on the couch," Pheonix said.
"What the fuck would you know about it, Pheonix? You never hold on to a woman long enough to have to on it," I growled. "Fuck sake!"
I drove to the hospital and went to the waiting room, where Evelyn awaited her appointment. Thank God I didn't miss it. "Coop, I got things here. Go back home and watch Ezra," I said.
Coop nodded and left. "What are you doing here, I thought you had more importent things to attend too," Evelyn scoffed at me.
"I changed my mind and told Parker and Pheonix to handle it. Now, let's see our daughter through the ultrasound shall we?" I smiled.
The nurse called us to her and guided us to the exam room. "Everything is as it should be. The baby should arrive any day now," the nurse said.
"Isn't there anything you can do to move it along?" I asked. "If the baby is ready, can't you take her out now?" Before my wife drives me crazy!
The nurse laughed. "That's not how it works, Mr. Halliwell. But nice one,"
"Ignore him. AH." Evelyn winced in pain.
"Honey, what's wrong?" I said.
"I think my water broke. The baby, it's coming!" Evelyn said.
I'll get the doctor," the nurse said as she ran out of the exam room.
Evelyn has gone into labor. Our daughter is coming.
