Chapter Twenty Nine: Who is the Enemy?
You are reading The Birth of Rekiya ❤️
Your enemies are always smiling with you😊
Her brows were at alert the moment she saw the man she had been waiting for hurried into her chamber. When he came before her, she was quiet. Their eyes spoke quietly to each other. She looked up at him, eye to eye, their eyes not moving for a second. The man before her nodded and immediately a light boring smile appeared on her face, suddenly showing how old she looked.
The one sided smile slowly faded off as she returned to her gigantic chair almost reaching the roof of her room. She rested her back and crossed her legs, looking down at the tall man who had become shorter for going on his knees.
"My Queen, they messed with you."
In a twinkle of an eye, a sharp knife that could slit the throat of a cow in a second was sitting on the young man's neck. The Queen, face to face to him, tightening her hand on the short knife. Her very long black hair that was messy fell to the side of her face, covering the scar on her neck. She rolled her eyes at her messenger, her face completely in a deep frown that preached eye for an eye. She brought the sharp knife down to the side of his chest and play around the area of his heart with the knife. "That name is forbidden in your mouth." She slit the skin slowly and blood came out. Pain could have followed that type of cut but the young man made no sound.
"I will not remind you again," she warned. Immediately, the knife went back to where it came from. The thong underneath her cloth. The young man was losing his breath and the Queen could tell he wasn't ready to heal himself. Her index finger came up and instantly the blood dried up and the wound closed.
Knowing fully well all her maids were not around, the Queen still looked around because it had been a while she used her powers.
The young man prostrated flat on the Queen's floor for mercy, his voice coming out very low just like the Queen. "I have done what you ask of me. Even her body will be decayed by now my lord. I have used my powers and the poison is the type that kills in one second," he said, saying exactly what had happened. "Truly Barbra had gone to visit Reba, and as you told me, Ruki by now would think Barbra killed her sister."
A smile of victory escaped the Queen's lips. It was just the way she wanted it. The two fighting each other and that probably wouldn't give Barbra time or space to carry out her evil plans. For someone who was proud and always wanted to be seen as someone no one can mess with, the Queen was sure that Barbra would divert her attention since Ruki would never let Barbra have peace of mind too. The Queen reached for her cold tea, her hand gesturing to his messenger who had done a good job to take a seat. "Are you sure no one saw you there?" She looked up at him again.
"Yes, my lord," the young man said, confidence bursting from his eyes. It wasn't his first time. He was never caught and he was proud that the Queen trusted him. He continued, expressing his mind before the Queen. "I still find it hard to believe Ruki thought no one knows she had brought her sister's daughter and had lied to the King." A confused look written on the young man's face."I know you don't hate her but you knew Barbra will take any advantage to draw Ruki to her side and if she says no, Ruki will die because Barbra will not hesitate to get on the King's side. And the King only wants to be seen as a fair King who loves his Kingdom and obey his people dearly," the young man paused. "Now that I look at it, you knew Ruki would do anything to save her sister and that girl, and eventually she might join hands with Barbra."
The Queen's smile widened, but disappeared immediately, tossing her cold tea back into the jug on her table. "I didn't expect her to come back alive when she travelled to Gabatha to save her sister. I would have loved it if she never came back to the palace, but it's still in my favour. The young girl has powers that can protect my son. I will use her for as long as I can. And her mother will fight Barbra for me without having to join hands with her. I just have to sit and watch. But I have no choice, to use Rekiya, I must protect Ruki. To fight Barbra, I must protect Ruki. To save Ruki, someone must die. To achieve all I desire, Reba, her sister needed to die. She should have stayed in her Kingdom."
"Hmm...my lord, are you not afraid to have that young girl near the Crown Prince?"
The Queen laughed. "My son hates the sight of her,' she said with confidence. Her assurance made her comfortable and relaxed. The Queen looked straight at her messenger. "She can protect Min with her powers. Why do you think have been keeping Ruki's secret? Or why do you think have been very nice to Ruki? I need that girl beside my son. When it is time to take her out, you know that is the easiest."
The young man smiled. His smile must have been the reason why the Queen's cup fell and broke into pieces. He was better frowning than smiling. Even the Queen rolled her eyes at him, frowning at the sight before her. He got it and gave his face the perfect frown it was used to. "I understand you, my lord. She's the reason Barbra's evil intention to kill the Crown Prince was exposed. For someone raised by Ruki, she would be nothing but nice with a good heart. If not because of her, Barbra would have succeeded. It's the audacity for me, my lord."
The Queen's laughter was very loud. "They must think I'm a fool. Barbra had the audacity to plant someone under my nose. She's gonna pay for that anyways."
"But you did nothing to those who tried to hurt the Crown Prince under your nose, my lord. Infact I heard you allowed half of your maids to visit their families with lots of gifts when they should have been investigated."
The Queen gave her messenger a bombastic side eye, then laughed. "I'm not Barbra," she responded. "They will never come back."
Suddenly, an heavy noise interrupted the conversation going on. The Queen jumped to her feet, her hair falling behind her back as she hurried out of her chamber to see what it was. When she heard footsteps running, she stopped, turned around, and immediately her hand landed heavily on her messenger's face. "Someone clearly saw you and followed you here, Oma!" she whispered, but yelling each word to his face, finally calling the young man by his name. "Out!" She pointed to the door. "Go now and find who that person is. Now!" The Queen shouted.
She was sure she heard footsteps running so fast the moment she came out. Whatever time he or she came in, the Queen was certain this person knew one of her secrets already.

Finally 😊🥰
The Queen isn't who I wanted her to be in this book 😂
I tried my best to make her a nice person, but she would never allowed her position to be threatened or taken. And this is the only way she can fight for what belongs to her. Being wicked, but portraying a nice woman.
Who do you think was in the room listening to what they discussed? 😁😁😁😁
