The Birth of Rekiya:  She's home.

"My King, the leader of the youths has brought you good news," the King's right hand said. Whenever the King was happy, he was happy. Whenever the King was sad, he was sad. And with excitement written all over his face, he delivered to the leader of the youth patiently waiting outside the King's court. "Come in, the King awaits you."

The youth leader of Akugba Kingdom hurried in with smiles all over his fine face, making the chiefs sitting with the King sang his praises with pride for choosing him for the youths. Agbobi acknowledged his presence and told him to speak on.

"My King!" His shoulder raised with pride as he laughed before Agbobi. "Finally, the youths have brought victory to the land. We are happy, that with the extent of our happiness, if horses are ridden in us, never will it break down."

"Hahahaha...." The chiefs laughed. They were the great lords of the Kingdom, that anyone who sees them would know they were well fed with their stomachs shooting out of their clothes. The only Kingdom where not only King lived with fine golds, but his chiefs walking about in them.

Together, they laughed and rejoiced, with the leader of the youths leaving the King's palace with lots of gifts for himself and the rest of the youths in the Kingdom.

Then they realised, today had been nothing but good news.

"My King!"

"Labi my right hand," the King joked, laughing. "Another good news?"

The lords of the Kingdom laughed. Their King has cracked a dry joke, but they had to laugh. "Hahaha...." Even their cheekbones were ready as their faces formed the laughter their hearts never found funny.

Labi smiled. "My King, the Queen's right hand has come. She's full of smiles, and her feet ran from miles away."

Agbobi turned away from Labi. "My chiefs, what could it be this time?"

"Labi, what are you still waiting for!" One of the chiefs said.

The Queen's right hand knelt before the King. She was the trusted one and closest one to the Queen. She knew what the Queen eats, and what the Queen despises. She knew the Queen like the lines of her palm. When the Queen was sad, she was sad. When the Queen was happy, she was happy. When the Queen needed comfort, she was there. When the Queen needed someone to share her secret with, she was the only one the Queen could turn to. "Your Majesty, the Queen has taken in," she announced.

The Queen has what!!!

Shouts of joy went out like songs of praises. While some of the chiefs were genuinely happy for the King, some of the chiefs were tapping themselves. Another weak child. Their hearts spoke, but their lips smiled.

The cry of a baby interrupted the shouts going on left to right. It was then the King remembered Ruki and the baby in her hands. "Haha!!! I have absolutely forgotten you my lady."

The Queen's maid shifted her gaze to the crying baby that troubled her energy. Of course, an ordinary baby wouldn't be the reason why her powers were suddenly draining out of her body.  "Your Majesty, I should get back to the Queen, for her Majesty is waiting earnestly for me."

The moment she left the King's court, the baby stopped crying. Ruki's attention wasn't in the King's court but on how the King was going to accept her niece, now her daughter. What she had prayed for was answered by the gods of Gabatha who knew the only way Rekiya could find acceptance in Agbobi's heart would be if he was happy.

And the moment she stepped into the palace, the first good news came, and kept coming. Now Agbobi's laughter could light up a whole room. He was suddenly excited by the news, promising to reward everyone that fought for his Kingdom.

Agbobi saw how wet Ruki's body was. How tired her face looked. She was almost shivering but maintained her composure. "My lady, where have you found this gorgeous baby girl?" The King asked after he has successfully peeped at the baby wrapped in white shawl.

"My King, I have gone to pray for the health of my Queen, including you and the entire Kingdom as I always do, but today, I found this priceless jewel. A mother has thrown away this beautiful baby by the bush. For I know you my King leave no child behind and love every child as your own. I couldn't pass by neglecting what the King mother has taught us," Ruki lied, but grateful that the heart of the King was filled with joy that he might be able to grant her wish.

"I have brought back this baby to prove that everyone in this Kingdom, either old or young, of age or a new born. The King had not taught us to be unkind or cruel no matter the situation we may have found ourselves."

"Hmm..." Agbobi nodded, and the chiefs chorused theirs too.

"Hmm..." They praised Ruki.

"My King." It was the chief of Justice that spoke up. "Ever since your Highness brought in this baby, there is just this feeling of happiness and confession of good news. You get what I'm saying." He looked at the rest of the chiefs and they nodded.

"Hmm…that's true."

"I said it!"

"I was going to say it too."

They burst into laughter, as they all agreed to what the chief of Justice said. And right there, they all fell in love with the baby Ruki had in her hands.

"My chiefs!" The King praised the lords of the Akugba Kingdom, his voice gone out with a shout of thanks. "The gods have blessed our land. I am surrounded by women of wisdom and great understanding." Agbobi turned towards Ruki's direction. "You have done well my lady. Bring her to me."

As the King reached out to carry Rekiya, it was then they realised the baby was full of dirt and the chiefs almost stopped him, but Rekiya grabbed the King's cloth, and a smile was born upon her face.

The whole chiefs burst into laughter.

"What a smart baby." Agbobi couldn't hold his laughter too.
