Chapter fifteen: The Crown Prince

You are reading The Birth of Rekiya ❤️

"Come over," Yasmine said to Rekiya.

"Clean his back with it," she added.

What! Rekiya's expression was enough for Yasmine to understand. The Prince hated anyone touching him. Rekiya heard enough stories about the Crown Prince to know him so well. None of his maids had ever gotten to touch him. His bare body. They said he hated anyone coming near him. They said they never knew how he looked without his clothes on. They had never mistakenly or caught a glimpse of him. Unlike the other Princes who flaunt their gorgeous bodies around.

Prince Dermin. His eyes only expressed anger. Irritated by the sight of anyone coming closer to him. He never accepted anyone's plea. So you better not offend him.

The only time they were allowed in the room was after he had put on some clothes, and only needed his maids to clean his feet, wear him his sandals, comb his hair, wear him his belt and take them off when needed. Also to serve him his food, clean his room, prepare his bath, and arrange his clothes.

Every maid that mistakenly touched his body were sent to the lowest place in the palace. The least place where maids with lowest ranks were kept to do all forms of dirty palace works. All these, Rekiya knew. Reason why she didn't want to follow Prince Dermin into the room, but Yasmine dragged her in.

Rekiya finally took the last step to Dermin. His back, his back was damaged with scars. Scars that failed to heal. Rekiya wondered how the back would have looked like without the burden of pain. His wounds looked fresh. They seemed never to have healed, and the sight almost clutched Rekiya's heart that she could barely breathe. The pain, almost brought her to tears.

No!

She wasn't supposed to feel this way. Not even for someone like him. Someone who referred to her mother as an ordinary concubine. He was the Crown Prince, and he had no respect for anyone.

He wouldn't even acknowledge himself as her brother. She just needs to find a way to stop serving him.

She wasn't supposed, and should never feel bad or sorry for him.

Would she agree that he deserved that? No! That was too cruel of their father. Why was his Mother, the Queen not even doing anything about it? Rekiya thought, knowing her Mother, Ruki would never allow a single scratch on her body. The only wound she had around her leg was her fault, and that was because she fell while running.

Rekiya squeezed the towel she had dipped into the hot water, placing it gently on Prince Dermin's back. She guided her hands so as not to be too hard and provoked his wounds. She wouldn't listen to the evil thoughts in her heart. If she wanted revenge for her mother, not this way. With care, Rekiya cleaned his wounds, sincerely hoping the pain would be reduced.

Dermin who was taken away from his study room which was messed up with water, was now resting on his stomach in one of his chambers. He wouldn't close his eyes, fighting so hard to lock those tears up. Just where they belonged. In his head, as imaginations. He had come to that realization, that as long as he was the Crown Prince, the pain would never come to an end. The beating would never stop. The wounds would never heal. His opinions would never make sense. His choices have no room for expression. His decisions would never count. His voice has no power.

Therefore, he couldn't let his voice be heard.

He hated his life more. Only because he was the Crown Prince.

Then he hated everyone around him, because all they ever did was speak ill of him. So, what was the point of being nice to people who hated his gut already?

What he feared the most, those tears, they fell, because he closed his eyes eventually, unable to hold the burning pain he felt in his heart, and not on his back. Then slowly, as always, with tears rolling down his cheeks, Prince Dermin turned his head to appreciate Yasmine.

Rekiya watched those tears fall. Her heart tightened, As if it was thrown to the ground, and was stepped on till it couldn't function anymore. Her heart. Why was she feeling so much pain? Yes, she knew the answer to that. It was because she couldn't imagine someone experiencing such pain. That was the reason. The reason her heart almost exploded. She felt for Prince Dermin, as if his pain was hers.

"Yasmine, thank you."

"I feel much–" Prince Dermin paused. The rest of the words he was about to say died the moment his eyes popped open. Who he saw only made him angry.

Rekiya saw it.

His features changed.

But she stared at him still.

"How dare you touch me." His voice was full of so much disdain. It was as if his rage increased in a thousand folds. "Never touch me with those hands. Get the hell out of my room. Now!" He pushed Rekiya.

"Your Highness, she was only looking out for you," Yasmine said, but hurried to Rekiya's side. "My Princess, are you okay?"

Was she okay? Rekiya's eyes could not hide the embarrassment she felt. Though there were only Yasmine and Thopar with them, her eyes were instantly full of tears she stubbornly held back. A whole Rekiya crying! She wasn't going to allow that. Not even in his presence. "Go to him," Rekiya said to Yasmine. "Mother and Rekima are always there for me. He trusts only you. I am fine Yasmine."

Truly, shutting the tears up from expressing the weak side of her Instantly made her care less of what the Crown Prince did. Rekiya got up. When she looked towards Prince Dermin's direction, he was already in a long, very light, long sleeve black material that covered the whole of his body except his chest area. His short black hair fell over his face, instructing all the maids at the door to leave. Immediately, he walked out, and behind him was Thopar, his right hand man.

It was obvious…

He hated being seen broken.

He hated it.

Not when everyone called him weak.
