Chapter 14
A/N: Sorry for the late update, the holidays have been extremely busy for me.

Cassandra's POV
I knew Xavier had turned into a man whore but I thought he would at least have the decency to do that else where.
I rushed into my room opening the closet. I was leaving this hell-hole.
I took my suitcase throwing all my clothes onto the bed.
I heard a soft knock on the door. I turned to see who it was, my door was already opened.
"What?" I yelled in frustration at Benjamin who was looking at me confused.
"What did I do now?" He said stepping in.
"I'm sorry, I'm just really angry." I replied taking deep breaths.
I continued to unpack.
"What are you doing with those clothes?" he asked.
"I'm leaving this house," I said throwing my suitcase on the bed.
"What? Why? What did Xavier do this time?" He said sitting on the edge of my bed.
"For as long as I'm in this house I'm danmed. I can't keep risking the lives of my children, this environment isn't good for me." I said.
I threw my clothes into my suitcase without folding it.
"Tell you what, why don't we do something fun today. I'll help you pack when we get back, then you can leave." He suggested.
"No, I want to leave now." I insisted.
"Come on, just for today. My grandmother wants to meet you. Besides, it's my birthday." he said.
I continued packing ignoring him. He just sat there giving me puppy dog eyes trying to guilt trip me.
"Fine," I said throwing my dress into my suitcase defeatedly. "Happy birthday," I muttered.
He smiled at me victoriously.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"We always have dinner or lunch together on someone's birthday as a family, it's a family tradition. We having lunch at my house." He said.
"Why didn't you tell me at least a week before that today was your birthday?"I asked.
"You never asked," he answered.
"Just give me..." I said but was interrupted by the sound of my phone.
I looked at the caller ID to see that it was from Elizabeth.
"Hello," I answered cheerfully.
"Hi," the caller said. I realised it was Ellie on the phone.
"How are you sweetheart? Why are you on your Mom's phone?" I asked.
"Mom let me borrow it, I missed you." she said sweetly.
"I miss you too," I said.
"When are you and Uncle Xavvy coming to visit?" She asked
"Soon sweetheart," I said down heartedly. "So what were you doing?" I asked.
"I was watching Aladdin." She answered cheerfuly.
"So what was the lesson in the movie?" I asked.
"Guys can be gold diggers too," she answered.
I busted out laughing. What did she know about gold diggers? Where did she hear that?
"Bye aunty Cassie, mom's coming." She said quickly before hanging up.
I thought she said her mother allowed her to use the phone.
Benjamin looked at me eyebrow raised.
"I'll be back in ten minutes," I said, a huge smile on my face.
I took a shower replaying the past events.
I came out of the shower frustrated, mostly at Xavier and myself. I shouldn't have moved back into this place.
After drying myself I wiped a towel around myself.
Benjamin was still on my bed staring down at his phone.
I started unpacking looking for a dress to wear. I had stuffed everything in my bag without folding it first making it a lot harder to find anything.
I settled on a white floral dress with a sharp v-neck. I went back into the bathroom to dress.
Benjamin looked at me stunned as I walked into the room.
"What?" I asked putting my ear rings on.
"Nothing," he answered then turned to look back to his phone.
I shook my head at him.
After putting my hair into a neat bum I added a few accessories.
"Let's go," I said pulling Benjamin's hand. He followed after me.
I was glad I didn't see Xavier not wanting to explain my whereabouts. It would only make me frustrated.
Benjamin opened the car door for me.
I settled myself in before he began driving.
"So what are your parents like?" I asked frantically.
"Why are you so anxious?" He asked, his eyes never leaving the road.
"Because I'm meeting your family," I said sarcastically.
"Relax, they will love you." He said.
I felt like Benjamin and I were in a relationship. I just couldn't help but wonder what his family was like.
Soon we came to a stop.
"We here," he announced.
I got out of the car looking at my surrounding. It was a middle-class house with a hip roof. Flowers were planted outside of the house. The grass green and the sprinkler sprinkling water onto the grass. It looked very homey and welcoming.
"Come on," Benjamin said pulling my hand.
This felt like the first time Xavier took me to meet his mother.
I just hope it doesn't end the same way.
Benjamin pressed the door bell.
Soon a woman who looked like she was in her late seventies opened the door for us.
"Hi," I said, a smile forming on my face.
She stared at me for a while before shutting the door again.
I turn to look at Benjamin who looked just as confused.
"Mark!" I heard a yell on the other side of the door. "Your son brought a girl! She's pregnant! Turns out your son isn't ball-less after all!" She continued to yell.
Benjamin facepalmed himself in embarrassment.
She opened the door for us again, this time a wide grin on her face.
"Please come in," she said.
She pulled me into a hug as soon as I stepped inside.
"Welcome," she said.
She pulled my hand as we walked into the sitting room where the rest of the family was seated. They all stood up from their seats, each one giving me a hug after the other.
"Cassie, this is my mom." Benjamin said gesturing to a middle-aged blonde woman. She smiled back at me.
"Nice to meet you," I said to her bowing my head a little.
"This is dad," he said. "And Sofia," he continued.
"Hi," the little girl said shyly.
"Nice to meet you Sofia," I said.
Benjamin's grandmother pulled me over to take a seat next to her.
"So, how far off are you?" She asked.
"I'm seven months, ma'am." I answered.
"You can call me Helen, you are family now." She said.
That was when I understood what she was implying. She thought I was his girlfriend and pregnant with his child.
"Benjamin, you didn't bother telling us for seven months. If I'm going to be a great-grandmother again, I need a minimum of eight months notice to adjust." She said in a matter of fact tone.
"No grandma." Benjamin said. "Cassie and I are just friends. Those aren't my children."
Everyone looked speechless.
They all turned to look at me disappointed.
"Oh," his grandmother said. "So Benjamin, you are still ball-less."
"Mother!" Benjamin's father Mark exclaimed. "Sofia is here!"
"I've heard worse," Sofia said.
We all laughed.
"You the only decent girl his ever brought home." Helen said. "He once brought a hooker here. I don't know what he finds attractive in women who wear children's clothes." She scolded.
Now I knew what Benjamin was taking about. His grandmother was a handful.
After that we had lunch which later on lead to dinner.
I ended up staying longer than intended. They welcomed me in with so much love. It felt amazing being with other people and just laughing and talking. It was something I hadn't experienced in a while, something I wanted.
"Your family is amazing," I said to Benjamin as he drove me home.
It was already nine p.m.
"That's them," he said letting out a laugh.
Suddenly the memory of my cold reality hit me like a bucket of ice cold water. Since I couldn't leave today, I was definitely leaving tomorrow. Nothing was stopping me.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked.
"Nothing," I answered resting my head on my seat.
Benjamin opened the gate to the mansion with a remote.
Only the outside lights were on.
I just hope Xavier was asleep or not at home. I don't feel like dealing with him.
"Safe and sound," Benjamin said pulling into the driveway.
He got out of the car first then opened the car door for me.
"You know, I still feel bad about not getting you a present." I said getting out of the car.
"There is one thing I want." He said, a finger on his lip as if he was thinking.
"What?" I asked playfully.
"Nothing," he answered. A smirk on his face.
His eyes held so much mischief in them.
He walked me to the door, my hand in his.
We stopped at the door steps.
"Tonight was amazing, thank you." I said.
"My pleasure," he answered.
He pulled me into a hug.
"You look gorgeous tonight," he whispered.
I could feel his breath brush against my neck.
"Thank you," I whispered back.
He slowly pulled away from the hug, his eyes staring into mine.
I stared at him as he looked down at my lips licking his. He started leaning in.
That's when it hit me. Benjamin was about to kiss me!
I leaned back pulling away from him.
"Bye," I said frantically rushing for the door knob.
I could feel my heart beat faster as anxiety washed over me.
I didn't see Benjamin as anything more than a brother. Being involved with him would only make my already complicated life even more complicated.
I opened the door quickly then closed it. I looked through the window to see that he was still staring at the door. Pressing my back against the door I exhaled deeply.
I looked through the window again to see him walking away.
I exhaled in relief ready to sleep the awkwardness away.
What made him think he could kiss me. Had I unknowingly given him any signs.
I heard foot steps echoing towards me. Soon my eyes were met by Xavier's cold ones.
"I didn't know you were still awake." I said nervously.
"So this is the time you finally decide to show up?" He glared at me as he walked down the stairs.
I didn't know how to answer him. Say sorry? Because I wasn't.
By the way he walked and the look in his eyes I could tell he was drunk.
Drunk Xavier was the worst.
"I knew you would be whoring around but I didn't think you would in my house and while pregnant." He said.
I looked at him stunned. What was he accusing me of this time?
If any was 'whoring' around it was him.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I saw you and your lover from the balcony. Have you stood that low? Your driver?" He said.
He must have seen Benjamin and I from the balcony. It wasn't what it might have looked like, but there was no use explaining to him.
"Me! I'm whoring around?" I yelled. "I'm not the one having threesome's with random people!" I snapped.
"What I do is none of your business. If you were so jealous, you could have just joined in." He said.
"You disgusting!" I spat at him walking past him.
He was a bigger asshole than I thought. He had the nerve.
"You don't deserve to be a mother!" He yelled.
His words stopped me in my tracks.
"You open your legs for every guy that walks past you." He continued. "How many guys did you cheat on me with? Was Antonio the first?" He said.
I raised my hand to slap him but he caught my hand with his strong one.
"You are a bastard Xavier!" I yelled, tears whelming up in my eyes.
"So are those children!" He said. "I bet you don't even know the father."
He threw my hand out of his.
"I want you out of my house by tommorow evening." He said.
He glared at me before walking pass me.
As if I didn't have enough reasons to leave, he just gave me another.
I was sick of putting up with everything, including him. I hope I never see him again after this.
He doesn't deserve my children, neither do they deserve a father like him.
