Night 1: Tyler's Trance
Evelyna's POV
Back inside of the house, Jonathan eventually calmed down but he was angrier than a hockey player getting elbowed up high and the call being missed by the ref. He wanted a piece of the creature who had hurt him and kidnapped Tyler.
"We gotta go after it! If Tyler is still alive, we can find him and save him!" Kristin exclaimed.
"But what if Tyler is the bait...?" Dani questioned. "What if he did want Jonny?"
"Then why would he grab Tyler at all...let alone grab him first?!" Jenna argued. "Why would anyone be after this precious cinnamon roll?"
"Are you sure this isn't apart of the party?" I asked, with hope. Honestly, I liked a good mystery but Tyler getting kidnapped...okay, I liked to hear that he could, but I didn't want him to die.
We continued to argue, until a spiky haired blond caught my eye. I slipped off and raced at the blond and tackled him in a massive embrace, before he could manage to disappear. We tumbled onto a couch from the impact and I pinned him down in place like he was the Simba to my Nala.
"You're not going anywhere Valeri Nichushkin!" I boasted, flipped my hair out of my face with a toss of my head.
"What the--get off! What you want?"
"Just to hear that...that sweet Russian accent..." I sighed and blushed deeply. It was enough so he could shove me backward gently off of him and sit up.
"You like me?" he questioned. "I no need to know English to know you like me!" He finally broke out in a sheepish grin. It was that innocent, clueless one that just drove my mind bananas.
"YES I DO!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, YOU CUTE BABY RUSSIAN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I squealed and flung my arms around him, pinning his own to the sides.
He looked to the side at me, with glittering blue eyes and seemed a little amused. "I have fangirl?!"
"Yes you do!!!!" I nuzzled my head into his shoulder and neck and grinned happily. "And I never let you go!"
Kristin, Dani, Jenna, Delia, Robin, Chris, Shannon, Kristina and even Layna all laughed at my fangirling. They were all amused that I was acting crazy around Val. The blond Russian blinked and looked even more awkward.
"I'm not going to let no bigfoot monster kidnap you!" I cooed, petting his head.
"Uh...okay." His head fell to the side in a curious fashion. He probably didn't know what I had said...I'm sure "bigfoot monster kidnap" were all words too complex for the Baby Russian still. It was fricking adorable.
"Okay, so I think we should all go to the woods and search for this monster and for Tyler. But first, what did this monster look like, other than hairy?" Kristin questioned.
Jonathan sighed heavily and then launched into the description, "It was a tall - like I'm talking at least eight feet tall here - hairy goat man. It was standing up on two hooved feet, but it had hands, which were padded and covered with furry. Then its head was like a sheep or goats and it had two massive ram horns sticking out in the curled loop shape. It was essentially a goat-sheep-ram human creature."
Kristin blinked. "And the hands had claws I take it...not nails."
"Yeah, if he had nails, the injury to by arm would look way different. No, this thing was vicious. And I heard it's call too...it's like a sheep's 'baa' only combined with a bass lion roar." He mimicked the sound for them.
"Interesting," Shannon stated. "Very interesting. However I am not a huge fan of things jumping out at me or horror movies and this sounds creepy enough, I think that I'm going to go though."
"Same here," Kristin said.
Shannon and her sister Kristina all walked off, bidding everyone farewell and said, "Happy half birthday!" to Evelyna. Then they left the house.
"Anyone else not wanting to venture into the woods and possibly come across a monster or a dead Tyler Seguin?" Kristin asked, playfully, earning a hard elbow from Robin.
"I'm not exactly a chicken or nothing, but I do have to get back to my house, so just fill me in on details and if you find Tyler or not," Robin said. "If I didn't have a curfew, I'd totally be helping you all out. Good luck and happy half birthday to Evelyna! Great party and nice to meet you, Val."
Val dipped his head. "Nice meet you too."
I still had my arms wrapped around him tightly but he hadn't made any move or showed that he was uncomfortable. He just sat there and let me hug him. What a Russian!! (I totally just fanned myself with my hand here.)
With that, Robin left the house now.
The remaining guests were Delia, Dani, Chris, Jenna, Kristin, Myself and Layna, who was too drunk to go anywhere anyway and we didn't want her leaving and getting herself hurt either. Chris, Delia and Layna were going to remain here, in case Tyler had escaped and managed to come back to the house.
Meanwhile, Dani, Jenna, Kristin, Val, Jonathan and I were going to go into the woods. (Also, somewhere in this, Jamie vanished. Like literally in my dream, he just disappeared into thin air randomly and was forgotten.)
"Alright, everyone ready? If anything happens call me. If Tyler returns, call me. But remain on your guard at all times," Kristin remarked. "Let's go find Tyler!"
I let Val go and grabbed his arm and yanked him up to his feet. I hugged his arm, happy to be seeing him and for him to be so willing. I couldn't believe he was letting me cling to him like this. But then again...he was a sweet, precious Russian cinnamon roll. We followed Kristin, who was the designated leader. Jonathan and Jenna were with her.
Dani walked beside me and watched me mooning over Val. Kristin soon pulled Jonathan up to her side and he showed her where he had gone and where the attack had happened. Kristin did some sleuthing around the generator and side of the house and she found the damaged area, which Jonathan showed her.
"Damn! Stupid thing bent it and tore into the tin. Geez."
"Yeah, Tyler found it and I went to flip the backup switch, which I managed to do and that's when the dude popped up out of nowhere and grabbed Tyler!" Jonathan explained. "He had Tyler in his hold and had one of his furry hands clamped over Tyler's mouth and then I watched as he lunged forward with one step and grabbed my arm, right where the claw marks are. I was in survival mode and I'm lucky I managed to get free. I took off running into the house. I didn't see where the creature dragged Tyler off to though."
"Obviously he went into the woods, so I think we should go check the tree line and see if there is any kind of trail or footprints. And keep your ears open for Tyler's distress cry." Kristin said. "Or just for Tyler period."
Dani squatted down and picked up the flashlight Tyler had been using. She tapped it in her hand and is blinked on. It still worked and the beam shone brightly on the edge of the woods, perfectly outlining a spot where there were broken branches and flattened brush.
"There! We can start there! Good work Dani!" Kristin exclaimed, pointing at the area in the beam of light.
Dani smiled and pointed the flashlight ahead of her. Kristin, Jenna and Jonathan had flashlights too. Kristin had her phone on her and was using the flashlight on it to see. We all headed to the tree line of the woods and entered, stepping through the broken brush and onto the start of the pathway. We followed the path back into the woods a ways and then it suddenly ended at an open area.
Dani shined the flashlight around the area, looking for Tyler but we saw nothing. Then there was a crackle of leaves and branches to the side of us, like some other person was walking around. I instantly tightened my grip on the Russian and tensed up. I wasn't kidding, that monster wasn't going to get him!
Dani pointed the light in the direction of the noise, but there was nothing there. Then the same noise came behind me and I spun around, slipping from Val's arm a little bit and in that time, I felt him being pulled back from me.
"EVELYNA!" Val screamed.
"VALERI, NO!" I shouted. I grabbed his arm at once and everyone else joined me. We held Val tightly, unwilling to let him go.
Jonathan jumped at whatever was holding Val, but he was released and Jonathan fell to the ground on his face in leaves. The Blackhawk leader recovered rapidly and jumped up to his feet and gazed around him, looking for the monster. Adrenaline was running through us all. I helped Val to brush off leaves and stick debris from his clothes. I held him close to me and patted him.
And now, I was super pissed!
The monster had dared to mess with me and kidnap Val. It was personal and I was planning to beat the bastard into pulp!
We all shook off the encounter and the terror and tried to look around for where the guy had vanished too, but we saw nothing. And all around us, the woods fell deathly silent. And then out of the chilling silence, a loud roar similar to what Jonathan had described to us echoed around the area.
"What the--where is the son of a bitch at?" I growled. "Don't you toy with me you bastard! If you wanna fight, fight me!"
"Evelyna, just drop it. Let's try to focus on looking for Tyler!" Kristin stated.
I nodded. She had a point. I kept Val close to me and we headed forward, passing through the open area. We stepped foot into the brush on the other side and then heard scuffling or like someone was being dragged across leaves. On top of that, we heard a muffled grunting sound.
"It came from over there," Dani exclaimed, shining the flashlight to the left side of her. She took off into the brush and we followed after her. She suddenly skidded to a halt and gasped. She had the beam concentrated ahead of her at a big tree.
At the base of the tree, was the struggling Tyler, bound and gagged. I tensed up again and gripped onto my Russian tighter. Jonathan and Jenna padded forward to Tyler and dropped down to him. Jenna lowered the - okay it was obvious now in the light - bandana from Tyler's mouth.
The Dallas Star gulped in air and then choked out, "He-he told me to stay put. He told me not to move!"
"Its okay Tyler," Jenna whispered. "We got you."
The poor forward was terrified and spooked out of his mind. He was having trouble breathing and he began to cough. Jonathan untied his legs and then untied the ropes holding him to the tree. With Jenna's help, the two helped him to his feet and there Jonathan untied his hands. Tyler leaned back against the tree, struggling to calm himself. He glanced around him, absolutely petrified.
"He-he'll find out and he'll get me. You should've just left me there tied up!"
"You're not going to die Tyler," Kristin remarked, gently. "Come on, let's get you back to the house." She reached out and attempted to grab Tyler's hand.
Tyler swatted her hand away and then looked at her with big brown eyes. "No! You don't understand! All of you are in danger!" the Star continued to gasp. "He wants me dead and he'll do whatever he can to achieve that!"
"We won't let it happen!" I stated, still holding tightly to my shaking Russian. "Let's get out of here.
Tyler's head snapped back and forth as Jonathan folded his arms across his chest, holding one of the ropes still in his hand. "Listen Tyler, if you won't leave with us willingly, I'll tie you up and we will force you from here, kicking and screaming and struggling. Come on, man."
Tyler was about to say something when there was a thunderous slashing sound followed by the roaring sheep baa noise. The Dallas Star forward's head was instantly turned in the direction of the noise. He was staring into the red eyes of the monster and he screamed and dropped to his knees.
Jenna and Jonathan grabbed his arms and lifted him back up to his feet. They held him firmly in place as he jerked at their holds.
"NO! NO! HE'LL FIND ME AGAIN AND KILL ME! THERE'S NO ESCAPE!!" Tyler howled.
Dani shone the light in the direction of the noise and had it pointed at another skinnier tree. There were four slash marks were the monster had slashed the tree with an angry swipe of his clawed hand. And the marks had dug into the tree and almost cut halfway through the bark!
"The dude's pissed off we found Tyler. We need to get out of here now!" Kristin exclaimed. "Back to the house!"
We all took off running back into the open area and back down the path, toward the light of the house. We all burst from the woods and tore up to the house, just as another loud roar came. This one was much more furious and louder. We all quickly burst into the house. Dani and Kristin, followed by Val and I and then Jenna, Jonathan and Tyler. Kristin slammed the door shut and locked it. Before she did, she caught sight of two glowing red eyes peering out from the tree line of the woods, before they disappeared and she had the door closed.
Jonathan and Jenna led Tyler over to a chair and forced him into it. Delia, Chris and Layna perked up and Delia brought Tyler some water, which was forced down his throat by Jonathan after he refused. When the bottle was emptied and passed back to Delia, Tyler gasped and coughed and then fell silent. He dropped his head briefly and then gained his breath back and snapped his head up.
"You shouldn't have saved me...that monster will find me and he'll kill all of you and then finally me. There's no escaping him. I looked deep into those red beady eyes of his and I know he knows me. He knows my name...that last roar was no roar, he was pissed off and he said, 'I'll kill you Tyler Seguin!'"
