Night 1: Tyler's Missing!!

Evelyna's POV

My eyes eventually adjusted to the darkness and I saw Tyler holding a flashlight in his hand. He turned it on and shined it around him, testing it out. Then he looked at me. "I'm going to go check out the light switch and see what happened. A little blackout won't ruin this party, not with the king of parties mixing drinks all up in here!"

"I'm going with you, Tyler!" Jonathan remarked. "And don't you dare say anything about it."

"Wasn't planning on it. I was actually going to suggest it!" Tyler laughed, shining the light at his bar partner and earning a stern scolding scowl from the Blackhawk.

"Be careful, Tyler and Jonny, remember you still have to make me a drink," I teased. I watched as Tyler and Jonathan left the bar, shining the flashlight ahead of them. I looked back at Kristin, who shrugged at me. "What do you think happened?" I asked her.

"I don't know. I have a backup generator for this place just in case...it's weird. And it's never happened before."

Something inside me told me there was a problem and it wasn't a happy coincidence. Something was wrong and I didn't need any moonshine to tell me that my non-believer was now a believer. I was about to suggest the 'bigfoot' idea to her, but loud footsteps and heavy breathing took my attention and I looked at the door.

I was even more so swayed by my thoughts, when Jonathan burst back into the room, scared and out of breath. The lights snapped back on randomly and I could see that he was petrified and pale in color. He was sweating and shaking and looked awful. What had happened to him? Also, where was Tyler? I jumped to my feet and darted over to him. He looked like he had seen a ghost...and well, maybe he had.

"Jonny! Are you okay? What happened? Where's Tyler?" I asked him, concerned.

"Tyler...Bigfoot...Kidnapped..." he managed.

"Bigfoot? In Dallas?" Kristin questioned, snorting with laughter. "That's absurd! There aren't any bigfoots in Dallas! Some masked man must've kidnapped him and in that case, we should call the police."

"You didn't see what I saw! It was big and hairy...and black! It looked like a human-like goatman or maybe a sheep or ram or something. It wasn't normal! I saw a monster and it dragged Tyler off!" Jonathan blurted out.

I put an arm around him in comfort, joined by two of my Blackhawk friends, the Adam Burish lover Delia and Jenna. Jenna looped her arm around the other side of Jonathan, hugging him close to her. They looked concerned over the poor centerman. "It's okay Jonny," we whispered soothing to him.

"Yeah, I'm sure it wasn't normal, but then again, I'm not the one who's doped up on moonshine!" Kristin laughed. "That's what you get for trying that strong whiskey, Jonny! It's why Evelyna will NOT be having any of it."

"I know what I saw, moonshine or not! It was real and it was scary and it has Tyler!" Jonathan insisted. "I swear!" His eyes were wild and flashing...no blazing...with a burning fire...it was a new side of Jonathan Toews that no one ever saw. He was always calm and collected, however right now, he was livid and he was scared.

Kristin rolled her eyes. "I want proof Jonny. I can't go on just a silly story and knowing that you have moonshine in your system."

Jonathan frowned and eyed her. "You want proof? Come here and see what the bastard did to me!"

"Whatever." Kristin shrugged, rolled her eyes and walked over.

Jonathan turned to his side and showed her his arm. There were four claw marks etched into his upper arm. My Vancouver friend took a step back in shock. She was speechless now. "That proof enough for you? Doped up on moonshine or not, these are real and you can see 'em! I was attacked! The creature ambushed Tyler and then grabbed me. I managed to pull free in the chaos and escape...Tyler however..."

"Where did it go?" Dani asked. "Do you know?"

Jonathan looked at her with big puppy dog eyes now. The fire and wildness was gone, all that remained was fright and worry. "I don't know...but I'm going to take a wild guess and say the woods."

"You poor poor Blackhawk," Jenna cooed, petting Jonathan's head as he nuzzled against her shoulder.

He was pretty shaken up that was for sure and he had claw marks on his skin. Something had attacked him and we were all believers now. There was a monster lurking in the woods and it was dangerous. We had to find Tyler and rescue him!

Tyler's POV

The lights went out and I immediately grabbed a flashlight from a basket that was stuffed under the bar counter, under the mixing station. I turned it on and tested it out, making sure it wasn't going to go out on me and that it worked. Luckily it seemed to be working fine. "I'm going to go check out the light switch and see what happened. A little blackout won't ruin this party, not with the king of parties mixing drinks all up in here!" I alerted everyone, but mainly the redhead seated at the bar.

"I'm going with you, Tyler!" Jonathan remarked. "And don't you dare say anything about it."

"Wasn't planning on it. I was actually going to suggest it!" I laughed, shining the light at my bar partner and earning a stern scolding scowl from the Blackhawk.

"Be careful, Tyler and Jonny, remember you still have to make me a drink," Evelyna teased.

Oh, what a smart ass she was! But she was an awesome person and she had a right to be sarcastic on her birthday. We'd try to fix the lights as soon as possible. I walked over to where Jonathan was and we both left the bar, shining the flashlight ahead of us. We made it into a hallway, which led to the side of the house, where the generator was.

"Jonny, stand by the door and keep watch just in case," I told him, shining the beam of light at the generator. I felt my heart skip a beat as I saw a massive dent in the gray tin. Also...were there claw marks in the tin? Something had slashed the generation and purposefully wanted the lights to turn off.

I inspected the damage and tried the switch on the side. Nothing but sparks flew out. So I looked up at Jonathan. "Try the toggle switch for the backup on the wall there, Jonny!" I suggested.

He nodded and turned his back to me and pulled it down. As soon as he touched the handle, I felt something knock the flashlight from my hands and grab my arms, yanking me to my feet. There was a bone-chilling "baaaa" noise, which sounded like it was a sheep roaring like a lion. It was something I'd never heard before.

Out of instinct and terror, I opened my mouth ready to scream and warn Jonathan, when a furry hand clamped over my mouth and muted my efforts. What the hell had me? I could see what I thought were two massive ram horns over my head. Jonathan had spun around and was staring at the creature and at me. He looked spooked...so that wasn't good.

Then after a few seconds, he bolted for the door, but before he could reach it, the ram guy snatched Jonathan's arm, digging his claws into the Blackhawk's skin. I kicked back and tried to free myself, but this monster was huge and knew what he was doing. And he was super strong...like inhumanly strong. He kept the hand firmly in place over my mouth and began to pull Jonathan to him, as he headed in the direction of the woods.

Suddenly Jonathan slipped free, tearing himself from the hold and raced into the house. I could see drops of blood leak from him, before he vanished. Now the creature roared again and gripped me tighter. I watched as I was pulled from the house and into the woods by this ram dude.

What did he want? Was he real or was he just one of those creepy people in disguise? Or worse...was he someone I knew? I was pulled into the thick brush and soon out of sight and I couldn't see the house anymore.

Before I knew it, I was shoved up against a tree and pinned in place. The hand...or whatever it was...was gone from my mouth, but I was too panicked to say anything. I felt my arms get yanked back behind me and then secured in place behind my back. I tried to get my hands free, but I could feel them tightly bound together with some rough, scratchy rope material. The ram guy knew how to tie someone up...okay, that didn't help to reassure me any.

"Don't struggle," the creature grunted.

I felt my blood run ice cold. It could talk too? I was flipped over and forced to sit down at the bottom of the tree. Another rope was wrapped around the trunk and me and then knotted. Then my ankles were bound together with another rope.

As the creature tied me up, I could see the horns and the fur and took in every detail of it. As much as I wanted it not to be real, it was. It was every bit real and it was probably getting me ready for a kill. I mind spiraled and ran wild. And when it finished it's job, it looked up at me with glowing red eyes and spoke again, "Stay put. Don't move." It reached out one of its clawed hands and placed it on Tyler's cheek.

I gulped and nodded at him. "W-what do you w-want w-with m-m-me?" I stammered, unable to hide the fear I felt inside. It let it's hand slide down and I could feel the sharpness of his claws...I was pretty sure that it had drawn blood.

It seemed to laugh at me and then it reached out, holding something in his 'hands' and wrapped some kind of cloth or bandana - or an object meant to gag me - around my head and knotted it in place at the nape of my neck. It stood up and I swore it was eight feet tall. It let out another loud roar, which echoed through the wood and then it bounded away, faster than any animal I'd ever seen, including a cheetah.
