Third Person POV

Back in the kitchen, Gulf prepared himself for a big scolding from Mew. To his pleasant surprise it didn't happen.

"Would you please set the table while I transfer the garlic butter steak and caprese salad into individual plates?" he asked Gulf just before letting go of his wrist.

"Of course, my love!" Gulf responded with the greatest enthusiasm. Suddenly Gulf realized how hungry he was.

He quickly set the table for two and pretty soon Mew was placing the platter containing two thick pieces of garlic butter steak and a large bowl of caprese salad.

Gulf went back to the fridge and opened it and took out two tall cartons, one in each hand. One carton contained orange juice and the other had guava nectar in it.

"Orange or guava?" Gulf asked, raising each one alternately.

"Guava for me," Mew replied.

"Guava for both of us then," Gulf declared, putting the carton of orange juice back inside the fridge.

Mew and Gulf made quick work of the garlic butter steak and the caprese salad and drank their guava nectar to the last drop.

"I'll take care of washing the dishes," Gulf offered.

"We'll wash them together," Mew said, already bringing the empty plates to the kitchen sink.

For some reason the production company had not thought about installing a dishwasher in the training unit.

Just after Gulf turned on the faucet, he felt Mew's arms go around his waist from behind him. He felt Mew's lips against the side of his neck.

"I'm sorry for being rough on you earlier," Mew whispered into Gulf's ear.

"I would never cheat on you, P'Mew," Gulf said, still feeling a bit salty from the accusation of Mew earlier.

"I'm sorry," Mew repeated, "I should learn to control my jealousy. It's just that I love you so much and can't bear the thought of you being with anyone except me."

"You have to work on trusting me more," Gulf remarked as he started rubbing the soapy sponge against one of the plates.

Suddenly they heard footsteps coming into the kitchen.

"Oh, oops, sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your intimate moment," Max said. "Just let me pour myself a glass of orange juice and then I'll be on my merry way."

"Oh, no, no, you're not interrupting anything," Mew declared, "you can start cooking whatever you want to cook. We're finished with lunch. We're just washing the dishes now."

"Oh, I'm not gonna cook," Max informed Mew. "I had ordered Indian food from Mumbai Spices. I just forgot to order a drink to go with it."

While Max was pouring orange juice into a tall glass, Sandy walked into the kitchen. When she noticed all three she started to back away.

"No, no, no, don't go," Max called to Sandy, "I'm leaving just as soon as I put this carton back in the fridge."

"You're not here to cook lunch?" Sandy asked.

"No, my lunch has arrived already. I just came to get myself some orange juice," Max replied.

"Tell you what," said Max, taking a quick glance at Mew and Gulf who seemed to be lost in a world of their own, "I can share my lunch with you. Just get yourself something to drink from the fridge."

"Hey, that's very generous of you," Sandy said with a big smile, already fetching herself a tall glass from one of the cabinets and getting the carton of guava nectar from the fridge.

"This carton is empty now," she remarked as she poured the last drop of it into her glass. There was just enough left for one tall glass.

She discarded the empty carton into the kitchen bin and went to follow Max out of the kitchen.

She hesitated when Max opened the door of his bedroom and stepped aside to let her into his assigned room.

Max noticed the hesitation.

"I'm not a wolf," he chuckled. "I promise."

"I wasn't thinking that," Sandy said. "I was just thinking what the others might think if they saw me walking out of your room."

"Don't let other people's opinions stop you from doing what you want to do," Max stated firmly. "As long as you're not hurting other people just go ahead and do what makes you happy. Right now you want a big piece of my tandoori chicken, so come on in."

Convinced by Max's brief speech, Sandy bravely walked into Max's room. Max followed her inside and then turned around and locked the door with a loud click.

Sandy gasped loudly.

"Ssshhh..." Max said, putting a finger to Sandy's lips. "I just didn't want anyone bursting into our room and interrupting our delicious meal."

Sandy nodded and took the chair that Max indicated for her to sit.

"Mmm... this tastes really good," Sandy said after taking a bite from one of the chicken pieces.

"It would taste even better if you squeezed this slice of lime on to it," said Max, already grabbing one of the slices of lime and squeezing it on the tandoori chicken pieces.

They ate silently for a while and then Sandy broke the silence.

"Are you with anyone?" she asked, and then added "You don't have to answer that" after she noticed Max's silence.

Then she realized that Max was silent because he had just taken a big bite of chicken and was chewing on it, his cheek stretched outward where the big piece of chicken was in his mouth.

Max, not wanting Sandy to have to wait for her answer, shook his head and made a gesture by raising his index finger and then pointing it toward himself to indicate that he was single.

After he had chewed enough to be able to talk, Max looked into Sandy's pretty face and asked, "How about you, are you committed to anyone?"

"No, I'm not," Sandy replied, "but my heart is not free.'

"And what is that supposed to mean?" Max asked before taking a sip from his glass of orange juice.

"I will explain if you promise to keep it a secret," Sandy replied.

"You can trust me," Max declared, running his thumb and index finger from one side of his mouth to the other.

"I have this big incurable crush on Art," Sandy said in a whisper, her cheeks starting to grow pink.

"Oh shit," Max muttered under his breath.
