"Well guys we're officially in California!" Jack yelled.

"Woohoo!" Merida and Hiccup shouted

"Can you guys please keep it down my head is pounding." Rapunzel said from the back of the car.

"That's what you get for getting yourself drunk!" Said Merida

"Ugh god I'm never drinking again."

"That's what they all say." Hiccup said from the front.

"Where are we in California?" Merida asked.

"I believe San Diego." Hiccup said looking at the map.

"Well you know what that means?" Merida smiled.

"Beach party!" Jack yelled.

"Dammit jack keep it down." Rapunzel said.

"I like drunk Punz better than hung over Punz she was much nicer." Jack replied

"And man did she sing." Merida laughed.

"You guys are so mean." She replied.

"Relax Rapunzel we'll stop by a Denny's and get you some coffee to cheer you up." Jack said.

"Thank you." She said.

They couldn't find a Denny's but they ended up going to a Starbucks instead.

"Can we go to the beach now?" Merida whined.

"We'll be there soon." Hiccup said making a left turn.

"Ugh it's taking forever!" Jack said already in his swim trunks,

Finally they got to the beach. It was pretty crowded but the waves looked amazing and the sand was hot.

"Race ya!" Merida said to Hiccup both of them running down the beach to the water.

"Really?! They couldn't have taken a chair or a bag!?" Jack complained.

"Come on just help me with this and you can join them." Rapunzel replied.

Finally they got their towels set up and they're chairs and the umbrella.

"Hey uh Rapunzel do you think I could uh?" Jack asked.

"Yeah go ahead I'll see you there soon."

Jack was gone before she finished her sentence. Flinging off his shirt and jumping into the cool water.

"What a nut." She mumbled smiling to herself.

She started opening the umbrella but it was jammed. She pulled and pulled but the umbrella wouldn't budge.

"Oh come on you stupid piece of...."

SPRING!!!

It flew open knocking her down.

"Dang it!" She said

"Woah looks like you could use a little help there blondie?" A tall boy with dark black hair and tan skin said.

"No I'm okay thanks just this umbrella doesn't like to open sometimes." She said.

"Here." He said picking up the umbrella and sticking it into the sand.

"Thanks." She smiled.

"No problem I'm Pete but my friends call me Pitch." He said

"Rapunzel and those are my friends Merida and Hiccup. And there's my boyfriend Jack." She replied pointing to each of them.

"Boyfriend huh? Too bad he's a lucky guy." He said.

"I guess so." She said awkwardly.

"Well if you ever get tired of the boyfriend call me he said handing her his number."

"I don't think she will be calling you." Jack said from behind him. "Because the boyfriend happens to be right here and ready to kick your little fake tan off your...."

"Jack!" Rapunzel said to jack sternly then turned to Pitch. "Thanks but no thanks." She said returning the paper.

"Whatever." Pitch said walking off.

"Really?! Really Jack?!" She said

"What?" He said

"Did you have to be so rude?"

"I was being rude? He's the one hitting on my girlfriend isn't that a bit rude?" He retorted

"I had it handled and excuse me if a guy shows me a little more attention than you!" She shouted.

"Woah woah what the hell are you talking about I give you attention all the time!" He replied.

"Oh sure leaving me to play cards Jack I feel so adored!"

"Um excuse me but who helped you out of the bar and into the car and laid you on your side when you got drunk!"

"It was something you caused!" She said.

"I didn't cause you to pick up a drink Rapunzel!" He yelled.

"Woah woah what's going on here?" Merida asked.

"We can hear you guys from down there." Hiccup replied dripping wet.

"Jack was just being a jerk as usual."

"And Rapunzel was being a conceited flirt!"

"I can't believe you just said that! I was being nice and I had it under controlled." She screamed.

"Sure I could totally tell you had it under control when he was slipping you his number."

"You know what fine! You win! I'm a conceited little flirt who just wants kiss every guy who shows me attention!" She said angrily "I'll be in the car." She said stomping over to the parking lot.

"Really Jack! Now look what you did." Merida said.

"What? It's her fault!" Jack said

"We were so close." Hiccup said to himself "it was going to be a fun day at the beach."

"I'm going to go get her. Hiccup knock some sense into Jack." She said.

"You see Jack this is why we can't do fun things!" Hiccup yelled at him.

"What it's her fault!"

"Oh come on Jack we both know it wasn't. You were being your macho jealous maniac persona....again." He said

"He was giving her his phone number!" Jack replied.

"And did she give him hers? Did she say she would call him? Did she say oh my god I like you so much better than my boyfriend Jack who I've been with for two years." Hiccup said.

"No but...."

"But nothing go apologize so we can have one day of fun! You know there aren't beaches like this on the east coast so please I'm begging you go and teller you were wrong." He pleaded.

Meanwhile.....

"He's a jerk." Rapunzel cried into Merida's shoulder.

"I know he can be sometimes...."

"All the time he's a big headed jerk."

"Okay then yup he totally is." Merida replied nodding her head like she had done with similar conversations with Rapunzel before.

"I mean I'm not a conceited flirt am I?"

"Of course not! You're just friendly and he only said that out of anger he didn't mean it." She replied.

"Yes he did. I think this it Mer I think we're over." Rapunzel sobbed.

"Rapunzel you say that every time you two get in a fight." Merida replied truthfully remembering back in high school how many times She would go over to Rapunzel's house because of a little fight her and jack had they would be together by morning.

"No I'm serious this time I think we're over." She said

"God don't say that Punz" Jack said from outside the car.

"Merida could you give us a minute?" He asked.

"Go ahead." She said getting out of the car and heading towards the beach.

Jack got into the front seat.

"Punz please talk to me I'm sorry okay?" He said.

"For what?"

"For being an insecure jealous jerk and for calling you names because I was angry. Please forgive me. I can't promise it won't happen again because let's face it they're going to be tons of guys at UCLA and I'll have to be there to take them out."

"Shut up" she smiled "how will you even be there you'll be in San Fransisco?"

"Not exactly."

"What?" She asked.

"My mom phoned me last night while we were in the casino. I got into UCLA! I got in with a low income scholarship and an art scholarship!"

"What! That's amazing!!!" She threw her arms around him.

"So do you forgive me now?" He asked.

"Yeah I guess." She said "come on let's tell them the good news.
