Behavior

It's time to learn about some Flizzard behavior. This will help you understand your Flizzard a little better, hopefully.

Hissing
When a Flizzard is threatened by a predator or enemy, it will bare it's teeth (or show it's fangs if it's a venomous snake) and his violently, a sound similar to a cat hissing. The mouth is usually wide open, producing a very loud hiss, or closed with the forked tongue sticking out. The second example is usually a sign of mild displeasure or annoyance.

Slitted pupils
A Flizzard's eyes usually have round pupils, but when irritated or threatened, they will constrict to tight slits, usually paired with hissing (above).

Shedding behavior
Like most reptiles, Flizzards annually shed their skin. When a Flizzard is nearing the shedding period, it will become excessively cranky and irritable. This is partly because of the extreme itching the Flizzard will experience, keeping it up at night and driving it nearly out of it's mind. In Flizzard society, a Flizzard displaying this behavior is said to have "pre shed syndrome".

Fighting
If you see two males fighting, it must be mating season! Male Flizzards will only fight over females in mating season, other skirmishes being settled in bets or trades. Mating season is in spring.

Mating behavior
A female looking for a mate will usually set her sights on a particular male, stalking him around and watching to see how well he takes care of himself. If she is dissatisfied, she will move on to another male until she finds her perfect match. Flizzards mate for life, and this behavior is usually in juveniles. Flizzards with mates produce young every year, usually in spring.

Tail dropping self consciousness
Flizzards based on skinks and other similar reptiles can drop their tails and regrow them. However, in young Flizzards, the dropping of one's tail is extremely embarrassing. It takes usually 1-2 weeks for a tail to regrow, and during this period, a half grown tail is anything but attractive. Adult Flizzards have usually learned not to care, but in juveniles it can be a stressful emotional experience (like braces or freckles in humans, just not permanent). If you encounter a Flizzard currently regrowing their tail, don't say anything about it. Ignore it and talk about something else. Most likely, this Flizzard is very self conscious about it's tail.

Foxy behavior
Flizzards share a few behavioral characteristics with red foxes! This includes play fighting in Cubs, hunting similarities, and other basic things.

I might add stuff later, if I think of something else :)

But maybe not...

We'll see.

Lol
