I walked through the snowy forest. My long tail dragged in the bone chilling snow. How could I have feelings for Mika? I thought. She was my best friend, I didn't want anything to happen to her.

A blood curling scream echoed through the forest sending birds flying into the grey sky. I lifted my head, fear gripping my heart. That sounded like Mika..

I charged through the trees. "Mika!" I called as I reached the edge of the forest. Panic gripped my heart. I kept running into the snowy meadow. Several small shapes moved in the distance. I ran and ran towards the shapes, my paws numb with panic and visions of Mika being hurt flashed in my eyes. The thought of her being hurt made me run even faster.

I saw a flash of lavender fur and several other pelts. "Mika!" I howled and charged at the wolves. I hit one hard, knocking him to the ground. His eyes blazed with hatred. I pushed my paws on his chest. Letting my lip curl into a snarl. I stared at his muzzle. Several scars lined his body. He had slick black fur like a ravens feathers. He kicked me in my chest, knocking the breath out of me. I fell to the ground, trying to push myself to my paws. Anger made me spin around and leap at the wolf. I latched onto his throat. He growled and shook me as I hung on. He was finally able to throw me off. I layed on the ground, huffing for breath. He grabbed my hindleg and dragged me. I heard a pop and I howled in pain. He dropped my leg. and giving me a clear sight of Mika laying on the ground unmoving. Tears formed in my eyes and I leapt up, ignoring the pain coming from my back leg. I ran, well more like limped quickly to him. I batted him with my paw on the side of his face. He hit the ground, blood welling from the side of his cheek. He snarled and tried getting up. I stepped on his chest, and put pressure on my paw. There was a crack, and his eyes welled with fear. I growled showing my fangs. He limped to his paws. and turned to me. He snarled showing yellow blood covered teeth. He turned and fled, his friends following.

I limped to Mika. My paws feeling numb, tears flowing from my eyes. I nudged her body. Her flank made a small movement. "Mika wake up! Mika I need you!" I wailed. I grabbed her and put her on my back. "I should have realized I loved you a long time ago." I mummered.

I blindly ran back to camp. They turned towards me and gasped. Snowstorm run up to me. I snarled at her to stay back. Her eyes clouded with sadness and she backed up, tripping over her paws. Feather walked towards me, and asked me to put Mika on her back. I obeyed and shifted Mika's weight to her.

Fireball charged towards me, his red eyes blazing showing anger and hostility. "WERE YOU TRYING TO GET HER KILLED?!" He snarled showing his teeth. I snarled back. "Do you not see we are both injured? I fought for her. So step off!" I growled. He got onto his hindlegs and pushed me back.
