Eight
The car hit a bump and I was jerked awake. I looked out the window, sun shining bright in my face. My eyes adjusted to the blinding sunlight as I sat up. I noticed palm trees decorated along the road. Blue water crashed on a active beach. Waves hit at the shore. The white foam looking too perfect to be real. I turned my head over to the front windshield to see what was ahead of me. Cars scattered along the wide freeway. Some had their windows rolled down and were enjoying the breeze. I looked up to the sky and saw no clouds; clear blue sky streaked far until I couldn't see. I was loving every bit of the scenery before me.
"Oh my wolfbane!" Trinity exclaimed.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh! You're up! Morning sunshine," she said.
I rolled my eyes. "It's like 1pm."
"Whatever," Trinity said. I could feel her rolling her eyes.
"What were you so excited about?" Kiera asked.
"I just saw a car full of hot guys," Trinity said with a smile. She looked back at me. I giggled.
"Trin!" Kiera exclaimed. She gave Trinity a light hit on the arm. "You have a boyfriend!"
"Hey! I thought this was a 'no boys' trip! Only girls!"
"Except for Tyler," I remarked.
"We can just kick him out," Trinity responded. "This is a girls trip. Last time I checked guys weren't part of the name."
I laughed at that. Kiera got off the road and made her way down to a light. She made a right and continued down a thin road. I could still see the ocean as we traveled along.
About 10 minutes after we got had gotten off the freeway, Kiera suddening squealed.
"What is it?" I asked in a concerning voice.
"I saw the cutest puppy ever!" she said with another squeal.
"Oh my gosh." Trinity mumbled. I rolled my eyes and I could tell Trinity was doing it too.
We continued down the road. A few small conversations hear and there, but we remained silent most of the time.
Finally, we reached Tyler and Sydney's house. The house was huge! It was a nice brick with a modern feel to it. The garage looked like a giant barn door. It looked like it could house 20 people. You could probably use it to have a party. The Stone's House was much bigger, but this one looked more modern and much nicer. If it were me, I would love to live here.
"I'm so excited!" Kiera said. She parked the car. She quickly jumped out the car and made her way to the door. She only had her carry-on that you would bring on an airplane.
"Shouldn't we get our stuff?" I asked as I slid out the car.
"She's too excited to do that," Trinity whispered loudly to me. "She just wants to see Ashley."
I nodded. Of course Kiera wants to see Ashley. She loves little kids as much as she loves Nate. And that's a lot of love.
The door opened and Sydney walked out. Last time I saw her she had lost a ton of weight from her pregnancy with Ashley. Now, she was very much pregnant.
"Oh my gosh! You guys made it!" Sydney gave Kiera a big hug. It was a little tough with the pregant belly but she made it work. Trinity came over and gave her a hug. I hugged her as well.
"Wow! You girls look so grown up!" Sydney looked at us like we were her kids. "Come in! Ashley is so excited to see you!"
Kiera smiled and looked at me. She looked ready to burst with joy.
"Calm down, Kiera," Trinity said. "Kinda want to keep this kid alive."
Kiera rolled her eyes. "She'll live, I promise." Kiera bounded in the house, the double oak doors pulled back to reveal a goregous inside.
A huge grand staircase wrapped around the side of the wall. Wonderful modern furniture filled the area. It felt open and homey at the same time. I wanted to jump onto the couch and just lay there while at the same time I wanted to invite as many people as possible ans throw the biggest party ever. I probably would only do the first one.
The three of us followed Sydney to the kitchen where Tyler was. He was sitting on the ground playing a tea party game with Ashley.
"Mommy! Tea!" Ashley ran up to Sydney and held out a pink plasic teacup.
"Thank you sweetheart! And look! It's Aunt Kiera and her friends!"
Ashley looked at us. I expected her to hide behind her mom and give us scared looks. Instead, she ran up to us and offered us some tea from the same plastic cup.
"Tea!" she said.
Trinity bent down and took the cup. She pretended to take a sip. "Yum! This is my favorite!"
Ashley laughed and clapped her hands. She ran back to her little tea party set and grabbed another cup. She ran over to me and handed me the teacup.
I took the cup from her small hands. "Why thank you!" I said with a smile.
Ashley laughed. She turned back to Trinity and smiled at her. "Pretty!" she said.
"I think Ashley thinks you're pretty," Tyler said. He sat up from sitting on the ground and walked over to Sydney.
"Well, I think she's pretty too." Trinity tapped Ashley's tiny nose. Ashley gigged and ran over to her tea party set. She began to play again, talking in baby talk to her stuffed bear and fox that were placed across from each other.
"I didn't know you were good with kids," I said to Trinity.
"I have my secrets," she said with a smirk.
"Need any help with your things?" Tyler asked.
"Yes!" Kiera said. "We need lots of help!"
Tyler looked over at Sydney. "Of course they do."
Tyler followed us out to the car and began to help us with our things that were packed in the back. He grabbed a suitcase and a few bags and walked inside.
"I'll bring these upstairs and put them outside the rooms that you'll be staying in. Your rooms will be right next to each other near the staircase."
"Thanks Tyler," I said.
"No problem." He walked inside. I grabbed a bag and trailed behind him. I still got an exciting feeling as I re-entered the home. I loved their house so much.
After all our things had been brought up, all three of us went to our rooms to put our stuff away and change. Sydney told us that she wanted to take us to this park by the beach. From what she said it had a nice boardwalk to hike that was along the beach and some nice ice creams shops and gift shops along the way.
I walked inside my room and closed the door. I dropped my bags and suitcase on the queen sized bed. The bedspread was a beautiful white with colorful pastel throw pillows to make the bed pop. A tall dresser sat on the right with a big bathroom to the left. A TV stood on a nightstand. It looked about a 50 inch screen TV. I wasn't sure how they could afford this, but somehow werwolves have enough money to afford anything.
I cleaned myself up and slipped on my favorite swimsuit; a black bikini top with pink bottoms. They were the high-waisted ones. Kiera once told me that high-waisted shorts and swimsuit bottoms always felt uncomfortable to her. I'll never understand why.
I slipped on a nice swimsuit cover and slipped on some black flip flops. I grabbed a pair of sunglasses and walked out the door. Trinity and Kiera came out of their rooms as well.
"Ready to start this girls' trip?" Kiera asked.
I grinned, "Let's get this party started."
