*Author's note*

Later that day as the sun was beginning to set, inside a cavern-like structure the Mirkwood wolves all gathered together for a meeting with their Beta Akela who had some grave news to declare.

"My children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Our 300 summer has passed and I have listened to the trees and to the winter winds and they have said this. The time of the Elven wolves will end". At that statement, all the young elves murmured among themselves worriedly. "For in two days' time, our Alphas will be executed". Everyone stood there in either elf or wolf form shocked and in disbelief that their Alphas will be killed. "If we are to survive, we must return to our homeland".

"This old fool believes the trees and the wind can talk, it is time to realize that our Beta has lost his ability to lead!" Kylo scoffed then decreed. Surprisingly some of the younger elves believed Kylo's words and agreed with him but the older elves did not.

"How dare you say that!" snarled Tauriel as she stepped forward.

"Yes our father has lead us well just like our grandparents have!" Her brother Elros declared. Akela's children and Kylo glared and snarled at each other before Akela declared.

"Stop!" It ceased their snarling and Akela told his children. "Let your cousin speak, it is his right".

"Akela would have us leave the land that has been our safe haven for 3 centuries. So what if we lose our Alphas as well as the rest of the pack? This does not mean we cannot rise again?"

"Kylo does have a point" stated one elf.

"He has no point!" snarled Elros.

"Even if we do rise what will become of the other packs? They rely on the leadership of our Alphas" stated Tauriel as she walked up to her younger brother.

"Simple. We kill the weak packs and leave the strong". Stated Kylo bluntly.

"Kill another wolf pack!" Exclaimed a She-elf.

"It isn't right" said Feren.

"When times are tough, there is no right!" stated one of Kylo's brothers.

"Yes there is a right, our right to prevail!" Kylo decreed. As Akela walked down a stair like structure from where he stood to give his announcement, he asked his nephew.

"And if we have the right to kill another wolf pack, then what will that look like to other packs?"

"That is none of our concern" said Kylo.

"Is not the unity of our bloodline the concern for all packs? If we kill another wolf pack, other packs will see it in their right to do the same. Soon we will all be fighting among ourselves, divided forever". Akela said as he walked among the younger Elven wolves and tried to reason with them.

Jackie turned to Legolas worriedly and whimpered softly. Legolas looked down at her and gently stroked down her head to ease her worry.

"Aniu, our Queen has come to me in dream visions and has told me what we must do. She said the time has come, for the one to fulfil the prophecy has come to us at last". Akela stood before Legolas and bowed his head in respect. Legolas looked at Akela in shock and Jackie said his name in confusion then Legolas said to him.

"Akela I am honored you think it is me. I've gladly given my life to protect the pack but I am not your savior". After Legolas spoke, Kylo let out an arrogant laugh and said as he walked up to Legolas.

"See here? Our wise Beta who visits with our Queen only in his dreams has brought a pussy cat to save us!" Kylo's three younger brothers all began laughing hysterically like hyenas but then stopped as they saw Jackie stare their brother down snarling and baring her teeth.

Kylo turned into his wolf form and back up but still held strong and snarled back at Jackie.

"Easy Jackie". Legolas said to his sister assuringly. Jackie ceased her snarling and turned to her brother in confusion. As Legolas stood beside her he said in a sterner voice, "His blood maybe pure Elvish but he still has much to learn about respect". Jackie looked up at Legolas before turning away being the bigger wolf than Kylo was.

She then walked up a boulder and stood up and announced to everyone so that every single Elven wolf could hear her.

"Kylo is a coward to save Thranduil and Aniu!" Everyone all murmured in shock at the former Snow Queen's bold statement which then made Kylo declare as he walked up another boulder.

"I am not a coward! But returning to Mirkwood is impossible. Spiders now swarm our forests, we would all die before even reaching the palace grounds! So now I, Kylo decrees that Akela must step down and let a true leader take his place". Kylo now stood at the ground of where he once stood and Akela now walked up and stood over his nephew and said to him.

"I will step down Kylo. When a true leader takes my place". Kylo snarled then leaped up as he phased into wolf form to pounce on his uncle but as he landed on the other side, Akela wasn't there.

Confused and angry, Kylo paced around snarling as he declared out.

"Show yourself uncle your magic tricks will not stop me! I will be a leader who does not depend of foolish dreams! Those who will follow me!" Kylo then walked away like an Alpha. Murmurs fell over the pack as those who were once pups during the invasion all followed behind Kylo and surprisingly even some of the older elves followed behind leaving only Legolas, Jackie and Akela's three children.

Once the pack had dispersed and divided, Jackie took notice of something about an old tree that stood a few feet away from her. Her head tilted and soon coming out of the tree was Akela in his wolf form. Her tail softly wagged and as the old Beta walked up to her Jackie asked.

"How did you do that?"

"I simply became one with the tree".

"First time I tried that I had splinters for a week" stated Elros as he, his siblings and Legolas all walked along beside their father. All of them were now in their animal forms and they were walked towards the edge where it overlooked the ocean and the icebergs.

"But now Kylo is right about one thing, we must speak of how you will lead us pass the spiders" Akela stated to Legolas.

"Akela as I told you I am not your savior". Legolas told Akela gently. Unaware to the others, Jackie's eyes suddenly began pure white and she saw in her head the giant spiders that surrounded Mirkwood and saw a vision of the Elven wolves fighting them. The next second it was gone. She shook her head and turned her attention back to her brother and the old Beta wolf.

"I have been having these dreams of me helping the savior but even their picture is not clear to me".

"Each of us has a unique gift, perhaps your dreams show us the way". And with that Akela and his children left the snow leopard and the former Snow Queen alone. Legolas phased back into his elf form and walked away from Jackie and as Jackie stared into the direction Akela took, she thought to herself.

'Akela's right'. She then walked up to Legolas who was now tense and smelled of anger.

"This has gone too far Jackie, it is not our fight".

"But Legolas I saw the Elves fighting the Spiders" Jackie said. Legolas shook his head and said.

"Listen Jackie I was there when it happened, and despite my dreams or anything else, I will not put you in that type of danger a day after you were reborn".

"But this isn't just about us anymore Legolas. This is about the fate of all wolf packs. Don't you see? This is what Manny told me about, I'm sorry but from here on out whether I stay or go should be my decision". A cold wind suddenly began to howl through Jackie's fur as well as Legolas' hair.

"That wind is a sign that your father's coming. He's worried sick that I didn't bring you back already, we both leave at first light". Legolas then walked towards one of the caves and proceeded to get ready for bed.

Jackie narrowed her eyes but followed behind her brother and lay down on her stomach before resting her head between her front paws and she fell asleep to the crackling embers of the fire that Legolas had now built. Soon Jackie began to have a dream.

In her dream she saw herself running across a forest she didn't know why she was running but she felt something pulling her to run as fast as she could.

She suddenly stopped and saw coming from out beyond the meadow an army of warg stalking their way towards the forest. Her vision suddenly went farther as she saw the ocean and what looked like an ice bridge made from hundreds of ice pieces big enough to walk across. Suddenly the dream flashed at her showing her all the events that Mirkwood endured and now as time fast forward, the bridge began forming yet again but this time it ended right where the Mirkwood wolf pack was currently at.

At that moment, Jackie shot up gasping and panting softly. She turned to see Legolas fast asleep in elf form, the fire long out and noticed that it was just starting to get darker outside. Jackie left the cave and walked towards the beach and noticed a figure sitting along the rocks this time.

She tilted her head and noticed that the figure was Tauriel and began to trot towards her. As she got closer, she approached her like a subordinate wolf would do an Alpha with her ears bent backward and tail tucked in.

She remembered from her time with the Elves during the great war with Pitch Black that Tauriel was one of the most skilled fighters, she was not one to push around nor would you wish to be an orc because she would cut your throat off before you could even blink. Not to mention that she was the first born daughter of Akela which makes her next in line for the Beta crown.

As Jackie got closer, she sat down beside Tauriel who was looking up at the sky to see the stars beginning to shine and she stated out loud.

"A star dies and another is born in its place. For my father's time is almost up in this world". She smiled softly before looking down at Jackie said continued, "You have questions I can tell".

"Why is your cousin Kylo so against returning to Mirkwood? What's he afraid of?"

"My cousin is not a coward, he's not afraid to die for what he believes in, but he is afraid of change. He would rather face extinction than leave the land he believes can keep us safe" said Tauriel. Storm clouds began to form and thunder began to softly rumble in the sky as Tauriel softly spoke to Jackie.

*Tauriel*

This world through which we wander

Is wonderful yet strange

The only truth we Elves really know

Is that everything will change

Rain then began to softly pour down and shake the pine trees nearby. Tauriel then spoke again as Jackie could almost hear the Great Spirits sing out to her.

*Great Spirits*

Like the rain that fills the ocean

Like the storm that shakes the pine

*Tauriel and Great Spirits*

We are all a part of the grand design

Back at the refuge den, Kylo stood on top of Akela's rock and decreed to all the elves as the rain continued to pour and lighting flashed. The Elves soon joined in and howled for their decree on what they must do to rebuild themselves and start a new life.

*Kylo*

This has been our home forever

This is where the pack can rebuild

*Elven wolves*

We were raised beside this river

And we fill the nights with songs

We must fight for what belongs to us

What is yours and what is mine

*Kylo*

We are all the masters of our own design

Tauriel and Jackie stood together and watched as a bald eagle soared around them before returning up into the skies. Back with the pack, as some of them slept and rested, others were fighting among themselves for scraps of food.

*Great Spirits*

The land no more belongs to us

Than the eagle own the sky

*Elven wolves*

We must fight for our survival

If we don't, we'll surely die

Kylo came in and made his mark as an Alpha by biting any wolf that passed him before clamping his jaws on his brother's tail making him howl which then made the rest of the pack howl.

Tauriel's voice then rang out the words she had been told her whole life from her grandparents to her parents before her and one day she would pass that knowledge to her own children.

*Tauriel*

We are one with what surrounds us

Brothers to all we see

Kylo then stole a bone from his other brother's mouth and proclaimed proudly and soon the pack all let out a unity howl just as the rain now turned into a light snowfall.

*Kylo*

We are wolves; we take what we need

To stay alive and free

Back with Jackie and Tauriel, Jackie stood up and stood at the edge of the rocks as the wind blew through her fur. She stood tall and proudly as she could hear the spirits singing to her.

*Great Spirits*

The one thing you will surely learn

As you walk with the wolves

The strength of the pack is the wolf

*Kylo*

We are wolves, the masters of

*Tauriel and Great Spirits*

And strength of the wolf, is the pack!

Jackie knew at that moment she knew where she had to be, she had to help the young elves understand that them turning away from who they are, will only seal their deaths.

At the same spot where he had once left her and after starting the snow, Jack Frost landed and looked around worriedly wondering where his daughter and snow leopard guide were at.

While at the Tree of Life, Mother Nature and Father Time stood together and looked at each other knowing fully well of what became of their former Snow Queen and knew that they wouldn't see her as much anymore.
