Dakota's POV

"Call a pack meeting" Jared informed me, I nodded,

"I'm going to tell Kayla first, Piper was her friend" I told him, he nodded before heading to the main entrance of the pack house to talk with Kyle and Trace. I ran a hand through my hair as I started to walk towards Kayla and Landon's room. As I came to their door I knocked and Landon opened the door, he gave me a smile but when he saw my defeated expression the smile turned into a look of worry.

"What is it?" Landon asked, looking around me, probably for Piper, the thought of her was heartbreaking and I was struggling to keep myself together.

"Piper was taken" I say quietly, biting the inside of my cheek to keep from crying in front of him, I am his Beta, I can't be weak.

"Oh my god, I'm sorry," he told me apologetically, "I'll go tell Kayla..." he said, I nodded,

"There's a pack meeting at the pack house's entrance about it" I informed him, trying to stand a little taller.

"Alright, hope we find her" Landon said, I nodded,

"I hope so too..." I mumbled to myself as he closed the door. I ran both of my hands through my hair and took calming breaths, I don't know if I can make it the whole day.

Piper's POV

I sniffed, getting up from the grass and looking around before my eyes landed on two men, they didn't glance my way but stood, backs straight, I think they were guards, but I couldn't be sure. If I didn't know Dakota though, I would be probably be drooling, they are pretty good looking. One had blonde hair that was in one of those odd hair cuts were their hair swooped or whatever, I always called them fwooshy hair cuts. The other had dark red hair, he seemed to be the more serious of the two. I shook my head to rid myself of those thoughts before putting on a more determined look.

How can I get out of here?

I thought, looking around before far off in the distance I saw woods, knowing it would be a very long walk, maybe a day or two seeing the distance between me and the trees.

Better start now

I thought with a sigh, starting my long, tiring walk to the forest's edge.

Maybe I can shift?

I asked myself, I attempted shifting before I doubled over in pain, trying only caused me this pain, falling on my knees I waited for the pain to subside before I groaned and started walking once again.

Dakota's POV

Call it a hunch, but I felt a slight pain in my body and knew Piper was in pain. I picked up the pace as I went to the entrance of the pack house, stopping when I saw Jared, I had informed many people of the pack meeting and they had all gathered around, most nervous and confused. No one really knew Piper was my mate, so this would be shocking to some, but I headed to where Jared was and stood next to him.

"Well, Everyone should be here" Jared said, I nodded,

"I got everyone" I said, and Jared patted my back as I smiled weakly at him.

"I promised you we will find her, I'm not breaking that promise" he told me, straight faced before turning to the gathering crowd, as did I, Kyle and Trace among them, as I searched the crowd I found Kayla, her eyes were red and puffy, Landon was holding her close in an embrace, trying to soothe her. I turned away to look at Jared as he spoke,

"In case you didn't know, we have been receiving a lot of rogues attacks" the crowds started murmuring, but when Jared spoke next they hushed. "And they got one of our packs future members, Beta Dakota's mate, Piper" many in the crowd gasped, while one brave soul spoke out.

"Who cares? She isn't worth it!" The devil herself spoke out, I turned to Linda with a glare, my wolf growled, and I gritted my teeth. Before I could speak, Jared spoke up,

"Mind repeating those words?" Jared snarled, she opened her mouth to respond before closing it again with a whimper. "Step out of line again and the Omega title is yours!" Jared growled, she silently nodded. "Anyone else?" Jared dared and the crowd was silent. "Good, as I was saying... Piper is Dakota's mate, we need to get her back as soon as possible." He said, "Wolves of the Sunset Mountain pack!" Jared announced, raising his voice, "We are going to war!" And the crowd cheered, I was too depressed to even smile, and when Jared dismissed us I dragged myself to my room, I blocked out the comforting words from my Pack mates, I was just gone.

I finally got into my room, locking the door I went to the bed, taking Piper's pillow, which still held her scent and hugging it to my chest, nearly inhaling it's scent.

Then I lost control as I silently sobbed, My true love, my mate, I lost her and it's all my fault.

Piper's POV

These guards were creepy with a capital C, they just kept following me! I never saw them move a muscle, but yet there they were always. Staring at me like the stalkers they are and blank faced.

Creepy

I shuddered as I turned to see them staring at me now, one of the guards, the one with the blonde hair, seemed to catch my stare and his eyes met mine, and fear coursed through me.

"Um, Are you guys like, robots or something?" I ask, breaking the silence, and the blonde one snorts before the guy with the red hair elbows him in the ribs.

Woah! They ARE human!

I try to cover my laughter as I watch them, the red one frowns while the blonde one seems to pout, I can't really tell because they are very good at hiding their emotions.

"Well? Are you gonna answer me?" I ask impatiently and the red haired dude sighs, smacking the blondie on the back of the head.

"Trevor you Idiot!" The red head growls, his voice is deep and goes well with his manly frame, and I snicker as Trevor, who I assume is the blonde, speaks up.

"What?! You made a big deal out of it! She thought we were freaking robots!" Trevor exploded, and I burst out laughing, who would have thought these two knuckle heads scared me!

"And?! You didn't have to snort like a freaking pig!" The red head exclaimed, growling.

"Whatever..." Trevor said, defeated,

"Hello?! Hi! Someone over here!" I waved at them and they finally seemed to realize I was there.

"Oh yeah" Trevor seemed to remember, his facials turning to one of recognition, he smiled sheepishly at me. "Whoops..." Then he was smacked in the back of the head yet again by the red head. "Stop Mason!" Trevor exclaimed, swatting at the red head, Mason.

"Only when you stop being an idiot!" Mason frowned, "But sadly, you can't stop being yourself" he added, and I laughed.

"Well, since you two are no longer being creepy" I said, walking up I them, "I want to know something" they glanced at each other hesitantly before seeming to mind link each other and then turning back to me.

"What do you want to know?" Mason asked, and Trevor silently nodded with Mason.

"Why is she doing this to me?" I ask, gesturing to the miles and miles of grassland around me.

"Well..." They glanced at each other again before Mason finally spoke, "She has a... history... with your mate Dakota" he told me and I frowned, confused.

"What do you mean by history?" I ask,

"Well, you might want to sit down..." he sighed and I sat on the grass and they followed, Mason sat in front of me and Trevor sat next to him, I made myself comfortable as I listened. "Ready?"

"Ready"
