At first you see the giant Great White Shark as a monster, but it's not. The Great White Shark is a great species that is going extinct rapidly. People in Asia catch this big shark and carve off their fins for a special soup recipe called shark fin soup. After taking off the fins they throw them back into the water and let them sink to their death. This is how many of the sharks are going extinct.

Another way they're going extinct when people kill them for sport. This is just another way to get rid of this animal they think is a monster. Sadly, the Great White Shark accidentely kill or injure people when they are hunting. This leads to people killing sharks for absolutely no reason. Sharks are so important just like every other animal small or big. They are a very important part of the food chain which helps maintain nature. Without sharks the whole chain would go crazy.

The other major way sharks are going extinct is when sharks attack humans and humans want revenge. So they start killing off the sharks. Sharks don't mean to attack humans. They can not see very well so they use echolocation. Echolocation is a way for some animals to locate food. Sharks like bats use echolocation.

When sharks see people they sometimes mistake them for seals, one of the sharks favorite prey. They use special echolocation and if an animal is near, the waves bounce off and go towards the shark. Sharks maintain the population of ocean animals. Without sharks there would be too many fish and other prey of the shark. The shark plays a very important part in the food chain. Don't kill sharks, the world's ocean population maintainer.
