Chapter Twenty
Caspar just felt guilt.
Guilt from hurting so many people today, and not even trying to fix any of it.
He didn't want to feel this way. The only thing he knew now, was to carry on. Try and make it better, even though he had it set in his mind that they would never forgive him.
He had told Joe that he was coming over to where ever he was, because Caspar wanted to talk to him.
Joe had texted back a minute later, telling Caspar that he was at Katie's house, who was Oli's girlfriend. Apparently he needed to talk to him too, he had 'big news' as he had phrased it. Caspar told him he would be there as soon as possible.
The wind blew across the pavement picking up some leaves on it's way, making the atmosphere feel very relaxed. It was far from that, he knew.
He stepped up to Katie's doorstep, exhaling deeply before knocking. The door opened a few moments later, showing a woman who had oven gloves on her hands.
"Oh!" She gasped happily, taking off the oven gloves and opening the door wider for Caspar to step in. "Aren't you cute? They told me you would be coming. They are upstairs, in Katie's room. You'll know what room it is when you see it. Come in, come in!"
Caspar stepped inside. "Thank you." He mumbled, before taking off his shoes. She sent him a grin, and walked back into what looked like the kitchen. He ran up the stairs, and looked around the hallway before seeing a door open. He could see Oli threw the gap in the door. Caspar walked inside the room.
"Hello everybody." He greeted, waving awkwardly. Katie, Joe, and Oli were sat there staring up at him. Their faces were welcoming, but mostly they were blank.
It was almost like they didn't know how to react.
"Uh, so hi. I have some things I need to tell you." Joe started, fiddling with his fingers anxiously. Caspar sat down on Katie's bed, his eyes set on Joe. Joe took this as a signal to continue. "Right, so basically I've been talking to the hacker. And before you freak out- there's some information you must know." Caspar nodded, taking it all in. "There's more than one. There's all different hackers for different things, and well, we found one."
Caspar's eyes grew wide, and his mouth opened slightly. "Firstly, wow. And secondly, who is it?"
"It was Katie." Joe said. "But not as you think. She is innocent, she had been tricked into doing it all. She was the 'picture person' as the hacker had called it. So that got us all thinking, what if all of the hackers had been tricked?"
"Oh my god," Caspar whispered. "This is way to much to handle." Joe hummed in agreement.
"But before we do anything else, I just want to really apologise for leaving you alone earlier." Caspar told him.
"It's fine." Joe muttered in response. It wasn't fine.
"Me and Troye broke up, just in case you were wondering about any of that." Caspar explained, Joe could have screamed in happiness.
And once again, in that moment, he messed up. He couldn't control himself.
He leant forward, and pressed his lips against Caspar's. It was a shock to everybody in the room, he could hear Katie's and Oli's gasps. He could have swore also that he heard a little cheer from Katie. And then something out of the blue, something he didn't expect at all happened...
Caspar started to kiss him back.
Joe felt like he was flying, it was magical. The tingling feeling in his chest was making him smile in the kiss, and he was so nervous his heart could have burst out of his chest. Their lips moving together felt like heaven, and when Caspar put his hand on Joe's cheek to deepen the kiss Joe knew he should stop.
He wanted to continue, but it wasn't fair on Katie and Oli.
He pulled away, seeing Caspar's face in complete shock. Before a smile spread across Caspar's face. Joe knew his cheeks were burning bright red, but then again so were Caspar's.
"So, do me and Oli have to leave?" Katie asked, breaking the silence. They both looked at her.
"Why?" They questioned at the same time. Katie rolled her eyes.
"Well, I don't know about you. But I don't exactly want to watch you guys having sex so-" Oli cut her off, placing his hand over her mouth.
"We will give you some time to talk." Oli said with a smile.
"Don't have sex! New bedsheets!" Katie muffled through Oli's hand over her mouth, and he let out a laugh. Soon they closed the door, and Joe and Caspar were alone.
"So," Caspar said. "What do we do now?"
Joe looked down, and took a deep breath. It's now or never, he thought.
"I like you." He blurted out. "And I've been wanting to tell you, but you were with Troye and I'm pretty sure you hate me and I don't know what to do. Because I'm kind of torn whether to tell you or not, but it aches and it aches and I just want it to stop. But then again I don't, I kind of like the fact that I like you for some reason? But to be honest, even if you told me that you liked me I would never believe you. And I'm telling you now... and looks like I don't have to worry about that anymore I guess. Just please don't hate me."
Caspar looked up from the floor. "Well, I haven't felt any feelings for you before." Joe's heart dropped. "But when you kissed me, I felt all these emotions. And I think all this hate that we have had for years, was really just love. We just didn't know it." Joe stayed in silence. "So my question again, is, what do you want to do now?"
"I kind of want to be with you." Joe whispered.
Caspar bit his bottom lip. "Okay. I think I maybe do too, but I don't know. How about we figure out who this hacker is, and sort all of this out. And then decide. You might get bored of me!" Caspar joked, and Joe laughed. It was a fake laugh.
"I could never get bored of you."
Katie burst in with a hand over her eyes. "Yo bitches, if you are having sex please stop. I'm only young."
"We aren't having sex, Katie." Katie sighed in relief. Oli came running in.
"I'm sorry! I tried to restrain her!" He laughed, and everybody else did too.
Joe looked at Caspar. "So, friends until we sort things out?" Caspar agreed.
"Friends until we sort things out."
Oli sent Joe a look once him and Caspar had looked away from each other. The look made Joe's stomach turn, it was a look of pity. He hated pity, he didn't need someone's pity.
Katie walked over to the laptop. "Well while we were out when you guys were having sex, me and Oli came up with a good idea to find out another hacker." Caspar threw his hands up in annoyance as a joke.
"We weren't having sex, Katie."
Katie typed something on the computer, before looking up and smiling proudly at them.
"What did you do?" Joe asked.
"I sent the hacker a message saying that we know who the 'information' person is, so they should hopefully just think we know and talk about them. It's worth a shot."
Time passed by, and suddenly the laptop made a noise. The noise it does when you get a notification.
"She's replied," Oli said. "I'll read it out loud."
Dear Joseph Sugg,
I knew this would happen. He's sneaky, that one. Told him I needed something from his house. Can you believe he has a diary? So suprise, he writes everything down there. So I know everything.
But to be honest with you, I expected more from Troye. He seemed like the kind of person who could pull off things like this.
From THE LOVELY HACKER WHICH YOU LOVE SO MUCH.
