Chapter Thirteen
"So, I feel like I don't know enough about my fake boyfriend." Caspar said, leaning on his elbows and putting his head on his two hands. "So I'll ask you a couple of questions, is that alright?" Joe nodded at Caspar's question.
"Okay then, let's start. What's your favourite animal?" Caspar asked.
"Turtles." Joe said without hesitating.
"Favourite TV show?"
"Hmmm," Joe wondered out loud. "Probably How I Met Your Mother, or Spongebob. Who doesn't love Spongebob?" Caspar hummed in agreement.
"Favourite food?"
"Nandos."
"Favourite band?"
This is where Joe paused.
"Oh my god. I could go on for hours. Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Green Day, I quite like Demi Lovato actually. Ooh, don't forget Twenty One Pilots." Joe rambled on, and Caspar smiled.
"I'm gonna have to stop you there, I don't want you passing out from lack of oxygen. I would like to eat my pizza without any paramedics coming in." Joe laughed quietly to himself, his eyelashes fluttering on his cheeks.
"Sorry." He muttered.
"Two pepperoni pizzas are here!" The waitress called as she walked towards their table, with pizzas in her hands. Joe and Caspar sat back so she could put them on the table. "Enjoy." She chirped as she walked away. Caspar stared down at his pizza in awe, it was beautiful. Joe stared at Caspar in awe, he was so beautiful.
Especially when he was looking at someone he loved, he got a small smile on his face and his eyes lit up. Joe knew this because he saw Caspar look at Troye many times, with the same expression.
"What's the worst that could happen?" Joe muttered to himself, a burst of confidence shooting through his veins. And he reached over, and placed his hand on Caspar's. Caspar looked up, sending Joe a confused expression.
Until he smiled, and turned his hand over, and linked it with Joe's. Joe blushed almost instantly, and Caspar released Joe's hand.
Joe was disappointed for a second, until he reliased Caspar was going to eat his pizza. Joe did the same, and dug into his pizza, delighted at the brilliant taste.
"This is really good." Joe said between mouthfuls, and Caspar nodded.
"I agree."
They both sat in silence, enjoying their pizzas. Yet Joe's mind was buzzing around with so many thoughts, but from what Caspar saw, Joe was at ease. Joe may have been, but his mind wasn't.
"So Caspar, you haven't really told me much about yourself." Joe announced, taking another bite of his pizza.
"I'm not that interesting, trust me. I'm actually quite boring, if I say so myself." Caspar explained, and Joe scoffed.
Yeah, right. Joe thought to himself. Caspar could say the most boring thing on the planet, and Joe would think it was the most beautiful thing ever.
"No, I'm sure your not. So, what's your favourite subject at school?" Joe asked, studying Caspar's face as it got lost in thought.
"Hmm, I'm not sure. Probably Art, it's really relaxing I guess." Caspar shrugged.
Joe smiled. "I love that lesson. Are you in my Art class?" He questioned.
"I don't think so." Caspar replied, picking up a slice of his pizza. "What teacher do you have? I have Mrs. Lamprot."
Joe frowned at Caspar's reply, his shoulders dropping a little. "I am in that class. I have that teacher. Why do I never see you?"
Caspar sighed. "Cause I like to sit at the back with Troye, so I won't be seen. I guess I never saw you, I was wrapped up with Troye. And besides, I hate you. I wanted to stay away from you, I guess."
Joe's heart broke a little inside at Caspar's words, but he tried not to look affected by it. I guess I never saw you. He chuckled fakely, trying to make it look like it didn't affect him in the slightest. I was wrapped up with Troye. Caspar didn't notice that he had hurt Joe, and anyways, Caspar thought Joe hated him.
I hate you.
Those three words were the opposite of what he wanted to hear, but still he hang onto them like his life depended on it. Those three words he was sure would hang in his mind for the rest of his life, falling in love with someone who hates you. It hurt. He would know. For the worst pain was not being in love, it was knowing that there could never be love. It could never happen, it was almost like the world was just being cruel.
He could feel his heart disintegrating, and he couldn't, no matter how hard he tried, put it back together.
They had nearly finished their pizzas. "I feel really bad about letting you pay." Joe sighed. Caspar shrugged.
"It's not that much of a big deal and- wait, look at Oli." Caspar laughed, and Joe looked over to Oli's table. He was sat with Katie, and he was trying to show off by showing her his abs. He was holding his shirt up, Katie looked quite disturbed.
They had been dating for nearly two years now, so she was used to it. She looked over to Joe and Caspar with a facial expression that kind of represented 'help me' when people began to stare at Oli. Not because of his abs, but because he was basically shirtless in a restraunt. A waitress came over, and asked them to leave. Katie waved at Caspar and Joe, rolling her eyes.
"Look what you did Oli! You got us kicked out! We hadn't even picked up the menu." Katie complained to Oli, but still held his hand nonetheless.
"Sorry, Katie." Oli said, kissing her cheek. She groaned, but smiled anyways. "We will go to Pizza Hut or something. Just don't, for the love of God, lift up your shirt again in a restaurant. People are trying to eat." And then they left.
Joe looked back at Caspar, who was looking down at a empty plate. "He is always doing stuff like that." Joe laughed, biting the last piece of his pizza. "I don't know why Katie sticks around."
"Do you want to go to a park or something? Ooh, how about we go back to mine? We could watch a movie again like last night." Caspar said, ignoring Joe sentence. Joe nodded, if it was anything like last night then he was up for it. Cuddling with Caspar was probably the best position he had been in, it was so perfect.
"Sure, that sounds good. But I mean-" He stopped when he saw the the waitress coming over.
"Are you two done?" She asked, they both nodded and she picked up their empty plates.
Caspar payed, while Joe apologised over and over for not paying. Caspar just said it was fine, but Joe still felt bad. They got up out of their seats, and left the restaurant.
However when they got outside, it was pouring with rain. They had to walk in the rain, and before they knew it Joe began to shiver. Caspar took off his school blazer, and put it over Joe's shoulders even though Joe already have a blazer on. Joe shook his head, and took it off.
"No, you will be cold!" Joe argued, trying to give it back to Caspar.
"I'm fine Joe, you are shivering. I have an umbrella we can use." Caspar said, reaching into his school bag and bringing out a umbrella. But as he opened it, it turned out to be a Hello Kitty umbrella. They both burst into fits of giggles, and Joe stood close to Caspar so he could get under the umbrella.
They both held the umbrella, their hands inches away from each other.
They began to walk.
The rain got heavier, yet Joe couldn't help feeling like this was a real date. Maybe he just wanted it to be.
"It's only six." Caspar whispered into Joe's ear, and Joe shivered, not just because of the cold. "We could watch two movies." He gulped. "Do you want to go to the shops and get some popcorn or something Jojo?" Caspar paused, and Joe's heart fluttered at the nickname. "You don't mind me calling you Jojo do you? I just think it suits you. Anyways, do you want to get some food or something we can eat while we watch movies?"
Joe nodded, Caspar's face burst into a smile. "That sounds great!" Said Joe.
As they entered Tesco, they took a moment to appreciate the warm. Caspar shook his Hello Kitty umbrella, getting off all the wet and putting it down. They made their way to the sweet isle, when Caspar paused. His eyes were locked on something, someone.
Troye was there. What was Caspar supposed to do?
He quickly grabbed Joe's hand, and ran down the nearest isle, pulling Joe with him.
"Wa-what are you doing?" Joe shouted, and Caspar put a hand over Joe's mouth. Joe jumped, accidentally standing on Caspar's foot. Caspar sweared, and then tripped Joe up.
Joe fell into his arms, their faces inches away from each other...
"Caspar?" Someone said from behind him. It could only be one voice.
"Caspar. Please tell me this isn't what it looks like."
