The Demon

Link's P.O.V.

A high pitched scream came from no where causing all the lights in the castle to break, making the entire place dark. From a distance, I saw a creature. Its red eyes were the center of everyone's attention.

I walked closer to it. Its red eyes shimmering in the pure darkness. I came to a sudden realization that it was no regular creature; it was a demon. In it's hand was a sword glowing with red flames surrounding it. It was a human demon. Just who was this?

Just then, the demon started slashing its way in the dark. Glass was being shattered left and right. People started to scream and dodge in fear of being hit by the deadly blade.

I ran towards the inside, feeling the walls for a glass case. At last I found it and broke it taking one of the castle's treasured swords in hand. This demon needed to be stopped.

The demon continued to slash at everything and anything that tried to come close.

"Impa!" I heard Zelda yell, "Get your sword while I try to stop this thing," Zelda said as she came to help.

"Yes, Princess," Impa replied as she ran to get her sword.

But before Zelda could lay a finger on the demon, it had completely thrown her back towards a wall.

I charged at the demon, the treasured sword glowing in a white color as I let my magic surge through it. Though it was pretty dark, I knew how to attack and could see the blades of each sword due to the glows.

"Just what are you doing here?" I yelled while jumping to attack the demon.

The demon flawlessly blocked my attack with ease. I kept charging at it, our blades clashing every time. The demon had uncanny skills. It was dangerously familiar, but at the moment, I couldn't think of who it resembled, all I could think of was taking this demon down. The demon made me lose my grip. I caught myself, but not fast enough. I was thrown back.

I charged my way back towards the demon only to be blocked by a large sword, Impa's sword.

"Stay back, Link," Impa said firmly, "I'll take care of this."

"The demon's too strong, Impa!" I warned her.

She began to attack the demon, but Impa's skills were not enough to beat it.

"There's only one person who's skills are as great as this," she mumbled as she continued to attack only to be thrown off balance and against the wall.

I charged again.

"Where's (Y/N) when you need her?"

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Kill. Kill."

It was all I could think of right now. I couldn't stop myself from attacking everyone. I had even hurt Zelda and Impa and was left to battle Link.

I couldn't control my actions. The last thing I remember before this happened was an excruciating pain in my left side and letting out a hellish scream. My eyes became blood-red and slit. I grew fangs and my hair started changing color again. The transformation was a lot quicker than it was the last time. I felt all the anger I kept inside me for all these years consume my entire being. And here I was, slashing at everything that came near.

I blocked that Link's pathetic attacks.

"You're so pathetic," I said mockingly in an unrecognizable demonic tone.

"You're nothing against me."

That wasn't me who was speaking. It was someone else. It wasn't the (Y/N) I had made myself into. It was the (Y/N) I had tried to avoid all these years. It was the (Y/N) who held only anger and was fixated on revenge.

Link's P.O.V.

I had stopped for a brief moment to stop and take a quick glance at the demon's eyes. Its eyes were filled with revenge and darkness.

"Where have I seen that look before?"

"Why'd you stop, boy? Getting tired? Am I too much?" the demon taunted and launched itself at me.

I rolled out of the way making the ghastly demon lose its balance. I took this chance to strike it in the side. It screamed a blood-curling scream as it fell to its knees.

I panted, out of breath. The fighting was starting to take away my stamina.

"Stop what you're doing right now, Demon. You're injured and can't do anything," I said while pointing the tip of my sword near what I assumed was its face. The place was still dark, but my eyes had adjusted a bit.

The demon started to cackle, "Silly boy. The wound has already healed."

The demon moved rapidly out of my sword's target zone and held its flaming red sword towards my neck.

"Sweet revenge..." the demon whispered into my ear.

"Where have I heard that phrase before?"

I quickly moved my sword and flashed the light at the demon's eyes. The demon screamed. I knew the light of the sword on its eyes would do just the trick. The light was only on its face for a split second so I was not able to see the demon's full face.

The demon was slowly vanishing.

In a soft voice, only audible for my ears, the demon spoke, "I will be back for you Link."

The sword and demon vanished into thin air. The emergency lights came on and everyone came out of their hiding places. They looked around, searching for the demon.

By the looks of their faces, they thought I had killed the demon. After all, I was the only one that heard its last words.

They all cheered.

"Link has slayed the demon!"

They cheered even louder.

"Did you see his swordsmanship? Such technique and style," a trainer praised.

"What's all this? I don't want the compliments. Not now. (Y/N)'s still missing."

I tried to tell them that the demon was still out there and that I have yet to find (Y/N), but they kept yelling and cheering my name.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

I woke up with the most painful headache. I found myself on the bathroom floor. Luckily, no one was in here.

"Was it all a dream?"

I headed out the bathroom, holding my head. When I had exited the bathroom, I stood, paralyzed at the site.

The ballroom was a mess. Everything was ruined. Glass shattered, broken furnishings, and broken walls.

"No. It can't be. No way."

I held a look of shock on my face as I saw Zelda and Impa being bandaged up. I remained still.

"Where was (Y/N) during all this?" said a trainer with disappointment, "If you ask me, she doesn't deserve that title after tonight."

The trainer looked over and saw me. He gave me a look of disgust and I could tell he wasn't planning on taking back his words anytime soon.

Everyone seemed to be looking at me at this point. Their stares were piercing my soul. I couldn't take this humiliation.

My chest started to hurt. I felt like I was suffocating. My (e/c) eyes were starting to get blurry. I felt myself starting to tremble.

Whispers were all over the place. All of them were negative things. I wanted to yell at them, but I couldn't.

I saw Link from a distance, and as his blue eyes locked with mine; he ran over.

"(Y/N)! I've been looking all over for you. Where have you been?"

I looked up at him and forced a smile onto my face, "Hey, Link, I think it's about time I leave."

He looked at me with concern.

"Is something wrong?"

Is something wrong? Ha. Don't make me laugh. Everything was wrong at the moment. How did he not hear all the insults going on in the room right now?

"(Y/N), I'm worried for you. Please tell me," he said with his blue eyes holding a look of sadness.

I couldn't take it anymore. I turned my back to him and left the castle. I wasn't going to stay here any longer.

"Who would've thought?" I said while smiling, tears starting to flow down my cheeks, "The person I hate most was the only one truly concerned for me and not turning on me..."
