Invitation: (Part 1)
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I woke up the next day and looked at the plain box next to my night stand. I opened it and looked at the ghastly jewel.
"I will find you...whoever you are."
My thoughts suddenly averted to Link and the events that happened.
"Dang that Link. What the hell was he even doing there? What a stalker, but..." I sighed, "I guess I do I owe him a thank you and an apology."
I got up from bed and put on some jeans and a (f/c) v-neck. I made my way towards the courtyard only to be greeted by the one and only, Lana.
"(Y/NNNN)!!!" she literally screeched across from me. I covered my ears as she ran towards me to give me one of her bear hugs.
"Lana," I squeaked, "Air please."
She let go of me and gave me a goofy grin.
"I'm just so happy to see you, (Y/N). How've you been?"
She was jumping up and down. Did this girl have way too much coffee again?
"Lana," I said while laughing at her behavior, "It's only been like three days."
She gasped, "ONLY??? Well the three days was a pretty long time to me, you know," she said as she pretended to fake cry.
I laughed again.
"So how are you and that trainee, hmm?" she gave me a mischievous smile and nudged my side.
"Stop, Lana," I said irritably.
Wanting to change the subject, I brought up a more serious topic.
"Lana, I think I found something that will help me to find the murderers of my family."
She stopped joking around and put a stern look on her face, "What'd you find?"
I took the gem out of my pocket and held it up to her curious eyes.
"I found this gem when I went back to Ikana Canyon--"
She interrupted me.
"But, (Y/N), that could've been any old gem and it's prob--"
It was now my turn to cut off the teal-haired female.
"No, Lana, listen. I had an encounter with someone. I don't have any idea whatsoever who they were or where they came from, but they were the ones who gave me the hint to find this and this gem was the exact same one that was on their cloak."
She remained silent while taking in all the information I had just given her. She had motioned for me to give me the blood-red jewel to her so that she could take a look at it. I gave it to her and she observed it intently.
"This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. If you want, (Y/N), I can take it to my place and examine it."
I nodded, "Do that please," I said.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," a voice said.
We both turned around to see that it was Princess Zelda.
"Oh no, it's fine," I said as casually as I could.
"Just making sure," Zelda said as she smiled. She walked over to me and handed me an envelope.
"That, (Y/N), is for tonight's ball. It's a ball for trainers and their trainees, "Think of it as a bonding thing."
I mentally threw myself against a wall. A ball?!? No way. For trainers and their trainees??? Nuh uh. No way am I asking him to come with me.
Zelda handed me another envelope, "That's for Link. I hope you two can make it," she said as she smiled and walked away.
Lana looked at me with an evil glint in her eyes, "Oooo, a ball? That means (Y/N) in a beautiful dress!" she started to squeal and jump around again as if she forgot everything else.
I sighed at her.
"And that means..." she looked at me and wriggled her eye brows, "You'll have to dance with him."
"Okaaay," I said sternly, "You can go now, Lana," I said as I did a sweeping motion with my hand telling her to go away.
"Fine," she huffed, "The dress will be at your room by tonight."
"Wha--"
"Byeeee," she sang as she frolicked away.
At least I don't have to buy one. I looked down at the envelopes and took a deep breath.
"Time to go find the idiot."

Link's P.O.V.
I was outside the Stock Pot Inn just chilling by the door looking up at the sun. I saw the little green man in red underwear hanging on a red balloon from a distance. How great it would be to pop that balloon right now. It's too bad I didn't have my arrows on me.
I was about to take a nice nap when I heard some foot steps approaching me. I looked up to see none other than (Y/N). What was she even doing here?
"I see my trainer has come to see me. How'd you even find me in the first place?"
"I have connections," she said a bit uneasy.
Something was bothering her and I could tell. She was fidgeting a bit way too much if you ask me.
"Here," she said while throwing an envelope towards me, "It's an invitation to tonight's ball back at the castle. It's for trainers and their trainees. Come dressed formally."
She walked away quickly, obviously to avoid anymore talk.
I yelled at her, "You can count on me being there."
She gave me a thumbs up and continued walking.
"A ball huh? This should be interesting."
*****
I had arrived at Hyrule Castle. I looked at all the decorations put up. Red banners, bright balloons, colored streamers, and newly planted flowers. Ballroom music could be heard from where I was standing. I had worn a white top and black pants. I wore a black, cape-like cover for my top. I had only closed a few buttons down the middle and left all the others open. I took off my green cap for once to let my awesome hair flow out.
I walked into the castle ballroom looking for my trainer. There were many people conversing and dancing with each other. It seems those trainers were actually friendly with their trainees. Too bad it wasn't like that with me. I honestly didn't mind, but it would've been nice. I can't really blame her though, I did come off a bit rude at first.
I continued walking until I reached an area that lead to a balcony. I saw a girl there, leaning against the railing white railing. She had dark silver hair and was wearing a red and black dress.
(S/N)'s P.O.V.
"Excuse me, miss?" I turned around to see Link, my sister's trainee. This is just perfect. He had made my job so much easier. Now I don't have to look for him since he came to me.
"Yes?" I asked while making myself sound as innocent as possible. I had to make myself sound normal. Being without emotions, it was hard to not make my voice demonic and monotonous.
"I'm looking for my trainer, her name is (Y/N). Have you seen her?"
I shook my head, "I'm sorry, but I haven't. But when you do find her, give her this rose."
He gave me a questioning look.
"Look," I said as I pointed, "Everyone else has a rose." Before he turned around, I used my powers to make roses magically appear out of nowhere on everyone inside."
"Oh, you're right," he said.
I handed him the flower.
"Thanks for giving me the flower, and thank you for your help, even if you didn't know where she was."
I nodded and waved as he walked off. That rose was part of Ganzon's plan.
Flashback
"(S/N)," Ganzon said.
"What is it, my liege?"
He got up from his seat holding a rose in his hand.
"Tonight, there is a ball at Hyrule Castle," he started, "I want you to go there and give that Link boy this rose and tell him to give it to (Y/N)."
"But sir," I said, "If I may ask, can't I just give it to her myself?"
He shook his head and tsked, "You never know, (S/N), even with your new appearance, she may recognize you and now is not the time for that."
I remained quiet as he started pouring a liquid onto the rose.
He held it up, "This rose, (S/N), will make it even harder for (Y/N) to revert back to her original self once she starts changing. She needs to prick her finger for that to happen."
I asked another question, "How will we be sure she will prick herself?"
He laughed evilly, "Trust me, (S/N), with that idiot as (Y/N)'s trainee, he's bound to do something dumb."
