Chapter 7
Bill's POV
After Pine Tree had his little talk with Arrow, he began to walk away from the back with her. I bolted out and leapt onto the bean bag so it seemed like I hadn't been eavesdropping. I quickly teleported a book of a shelf and made it appear in my hands and opened to a random page.
They walked out, whispering to each other, and Arrow stiffened when she found me.
I looked up, smiling. "Hey!" I looked over to Pine Tree. "Hey, Dipper." I said, lowering my voice.
Pine Tree swallowed and took Arrow's hand. I was thinking some very horrible things towards them right now. "Hi." He said.
Arrow looked from Pine Tree to me. "Hi..." Her voice was very distrusting.
I stood up, throwing the book over my shoulder. "Is it time to go home?"
Shooting Star suddenly shouldered past me and stood next to Pine Tree who seemed immediately reassured by his sister's presence. "Yes. I think we got what we needed." Shooting Star had a bag slung on her shoulder, supposedly filled with books. I walked up, joining their line, but noticed the distance they kept from me. Oh well, who could blame them?
The entire walk back was an awkward silence, I could feel it weighing down on me. But I was fine with it. Arrow was on the other end of the little line we made, making it difficult to communicate with her. When we got back, there were two cars pulled into the drive way. I looked down at Shooting Star and she noticed it too.
"Oh, my parents are home..." She clasped her hands together. "Ok, Bill, you are going to have to sneak through Dipper's window in the back. Just climb over the fence, and sneak in."
I sighed angrily. "I don't really know how to do that." I said, just to be stubborn and annoying.
Shooting Star angrily stomped her foot. "Dipper, can you please go with him?" Her throat was tight.
Pine Tree momentarily hesitated, before sighing and obeying Shooting Star. She lead Arrow away to the front door while Pine Tree took me to the fence along the side of the house. Pine Tree watched them go in before turning to me. "Ok, climb up."
I glanced at myself and then to the wall which was only half a foot taller than me. "I'm afraid I can't. I wasn't one for 'roughing it.'"
Pine Tree exhaled deeply, obviously annoyed. "Can you try?"
I looked at him levelly.
He rolled his eyes. "Fine. Fine." Pine Tree reluctantly walked up to me and put his arms out. "I'm going to try to hoist you up."
I almost laughed, but kept a straight face. "Go ahead, Pine Tree."
He raised an eyebrow at that last part and examined me, like he didn't even want to touch me. He grimaced and wrapped his arms around my waist, and tried to lift me up. My feet barely raised an inch of the ground before Pine Tree set me back down, gasping. "You're so heavy!" He tried to lift me up again, but I rolled my eye and swept him off of his feet.
Pine Tree cried out as I held him in my arms, bridal style, and I did not bother to smirk at how weak he was. He scrunched up, not looking me in the eye. I raised my arms and set him atop the wall. "There." I said.
Pine Tree shook his head, like he was shaking thoughts away, and breathed. "Ok? Now what?"
"Now hoist me up."
Pine Tree stood up and balanced himself on the wall and took my hands and pulled me up. I steadied myself on the cement wall and patted him on the back.
"Thanks." I said, and hopped down.
Pine Tree went to hop, but I just grabbed his wrist and pulled him down so he stumbled on the ground. He brushed himself off, not facing me, and led me to his bedroom window. Thankfully, it was already cracked open so we could step in. I stepped in first and, to my surprise, Pine Tree shoved me in. I let out a yelp as I fell face first onto his carpet.
He stepped in, awfully smug, and walked past me. "That's for yanking me off the wall."
I pouted for a second before getting up and brushing myself off. "Ok. I'm here. Why can't we just go through the front-"
"Because. Bill, you even look like a bad influence," he said, gesturing his hands to me, "and not to add that your seventeen - way way older than us - also we hate you."
I chuckled at that last part and sat on Pine Tree's bed. "Well, you could have just lied."
Pine Tree crossed his arms, still not looking at me. "Well, no, you're obviously not fifteen, let alone fourteen. Besides, why else would a seventeen year old guy come home with me? I have a girlfriend and my parents know you're not my type."
I pouted. "I'm hurt."
"Not like that, Jesus." Pine Tree sighed, "and Eleanor is with me. Mabel would never get with a guy like you. So?"
I reclined on his bed, stretching. "I don't know... I just have to hide here forever? Why not send me away?"
"Mabel won't let me..." Pine Tree grumbled.
"Why?"
"Being how you are, I bet you already know." He said tartly.
I closed my eye, getting comfortable. "Yeah, you're right, and I could care less."
Pine Tree let out a long sigh and looked to his door. Arrow and Shooting Star were probably talking to Pine Tree's parents right now. He turned back to me and realization hit him. "Wait- hey! Get off my bed!" Pine Tree took both his hands and grabbed mine and attempted to drag me off.
I cracked my eye open. "Whoa, territorial aren't yah?"
"No. Just this is my bed. Get on the floor." He spat, obviously not pleased.
I smirked again, refusing to move as I stretched out more. "No.... you get on the floor."
"This is my room, Bill." Pine Tree stated firmly.
I opened my eye all the way. "I'm aware of that, Pine Tree."
"Why do you keep calling me that?" He growled, still trying to get me off.
"Because, uh, that hat you have from the girl." I lied.
Pine Tree looked at his hat-less head and then looked over at his closet where the hat was supposedly stored. "Oh, why-"
"I don't know. Don't friends have nicknames?" I asked annoyed.
Pine tree screwed up his face. "We're not friends."
"But I gave you a nickname? What would mine be? Billy? Because that sounds more like a pet name."
Pine Tree ignored me and grabbed my ankles and began to drag me backwards.
I started to get more agitated at Pine Tree's attempts so I looked up, while Pine Tree was distracted, and saw three glass soccer trophies a top a ledge above his bed. I reached up, snatching one, and smashed it against the wall beside me and grabbed another one.
Pine Tree seemed absolutely appalled. "BILL?!" He stepped on the bed and tried to grab the other one from my hand. "What the hell, man?!"
I jerked it away, amused at his anger.
His hands flailed in the air as he tried to get it. He got on his knees and put a hand against my chest to support himself as he tried to corner my hand with the trophy.
I laughed at him.
"Bill, stop! What is your problem?!?!" He looked down at me for a moment, glaring. He tried reaching out and I jerked it to the side. "Bill!" He screamed.
The door to his room opened up and his sister and Arrow ran in. They both halted immediately, confused and concerned and mute.
I dropped the trophy down the side of the bed on purpose and Pine Tree leaned over, pressing himself against me, trying to get it from the side. "My God, Bill..." He grumbled, enraged. He suddenly leaned up without the trophy and looked over his shoulder at Shooting Star and Arrow. His face blushed dark scarlet and he looked down at himself on top of me and then me. "Dear God..." He whispered so only I could hear and slid off of me and stumbled to the other side of the room.
The girls were silent and wide eyed.
"I-uh, Bill smashed my trophy so I-I..." He gave up. "Stop looking at me like that, I hate him and I just met him and-"
"Bro bro, settle down." Shooting Star said quickly, taking Pine Tree by his shoulders. "Go out and say hi to mom and dad. Ella, go with him. I'll be there in a sec."
Arrow shot me a stinging glare that hurt like acid and she followed Pine Tree out. As soon as the door closed behind them, Shooting Star whirled around, furious. "Are you- what's your- UGH!" She was speaking in fragments she was so angry. "I told you about this, I confronted you about it and you just ignored me!" Her arms were shaking with fury. "I told you to not take him to your advantage and now your just torturing him!"
I acted innocent. "I honestly don't understand what you're getting at. I broke his trophy and he was trying to get it back."
She shook her head, deeply disappointed. "No, I know what you're doing. I told you, I'm not an idiot. You stay away from him. I thought I could trust you with him for five minutes, but no! I'm trying to set us on good terms, and look what you're doing! You are mad at Dipper for 'stealing' Eleanor and this is your way of getting him back! Just forget about it; ok? Eleanor will never be with you. She's been avoiding you since then so just accept it." And with that, she whipped around and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
I don't know if I regret writing that sorta of weird subliminal-billdip-ish scene...... Oh well, I did warn you all in the description, haha
