Chapter 4

The carriage that we rode in carried six , were jet black with brass fittings. The leather of the horses tack was well polished, smooth and supple and the horses were bays one with three stockings, the other had only one stocking.

There did not appear to be a driver though and Arryon kept staring at the spot where the reins were held in mid-air with such intrigue he didn't even respond when I called his name and eventually Rayva and I grabbed his arms and dragged him away into the carriage where Shila was already and was introducing herself to the carriages two other passengers Brothers Jaxom and Kasin.

Jaxom had beautiful white blonde shoulder length hair that lay tousled as if he had just run his fingers through it. He had eyes that were grey as heavy storm clouds, his mouth was the softest shade of rose, he had a slim body line despite not yet having grown out of his puppy fat, slim delicate fingers creased and hardened from days on the plough. He wore a sky blue tunic belted over a silver shirt with blue embroidery over steel grey trousers altogether looking like a cold ice prince. I noticed Shila’s eyes travelling up and down him not in a gesture of attraction but more like she was sizing him up!

I could not believe that Shila would ever feel threatened by anyone but everyone’s wrong occasionally.

The other boy Kasin was well, if Jaxom was an ice prince, he was a golden prince with silky honey brown hair that swept across his forehead in a careless manner, the tips just brushing his eyebrows. His eyes were a liquid gold full of laughter he had almost perfect rose lips which lay over the only imperfection I could see, slightly bucked rabbit teeth. He had broad strong shoulder’s and strong slightly gangly fingers and legs he was well browned I noticed as I skimmed over him and both Jaxom and Kasin had dirt under their fingernails with muddy work boots upon their feet and although their tunics were clean they were also well worn. I deduced that they were farmer’s boys as I had never seen them in Farja before.
