Ultimatum
"So is it true you and that poor boy are together? " Em giggles "yeah it is." I say firmly, I didn't care what people thought he was the best guy I had ever met. Em's face contorted into one of shock "wait seriously?" "Yes seriously...he's a really nice guy!" "Amelia he isa poor good for nothing poor lower classer." I dropped my jaw in shock I never realized how conceded all us rich kids are until now. "You be careful what you say Em...he is nicer that piece of jerk you parade around." I snap back and point towards her boyfriend who was only interested in popularity and money...something I to only once cared about. "Feel free not to sit with us at lunch or in class ever again." She hisses "My pleasure. " I bark back at her anger raging through my body.
I walk over to where Darry stands with his gang. "Oh hey Amelia." He greets me obviously shocked because I said I didn't want to be seen with him at school. What a completely conceded and bitchy thing to say, I know.
I see a lot of people staring at us both poor rich and middle class they gave us looks of curiosity, disgust and confusion. "Everybody's staring." He whispered. "Well then let's give them something to really look at shall we?" I smirk but before he can answer I pull his face to mine and kiss him softly but this kiss was different than any other.
It was a kiss full of both passion and rebellion. I hear a series of wolf whistles and "Go Darry." From a number of his friends around us.
I pull away from Darry and then slip my hand in his "We should get to class." I smile and he smiles back "I'll see you guys later." Darry says to the rest of his gang.
(3 weeks later)
"AMELIA HENRIETTA EDWARDS COME DOWN STAIRS RIGHT NOW!" my mother's voice boomed from down stairs. I was hesitant at first her voice sounded angry. "Coming mother." I reply and hurry out of my room and down stairs into the living room.
"Yes mother?" I ask as innocently as I could. Father was sitting in his arm chair looking very unimpressed and mother looked down right infuriated. "Amelia...we heard that you are dating a poor boy from the bad side of town. Is this true?" I slowly start to shake my head "Yes mama." I say meekly. "Well it's ok it's only in the early stages you can still break it off with him and it won't damage our family's reputation." "But mother..." I start to plead. "No Amelia...your mother is right. You are to break it off with this boy instantly." My father barks slamming down his paper on the table next to him which made me jump in fright.
Tears started to well up in my eyes and threatened to spill "But please...I think I love him." "Don't be ridiculous Amelia...you don't know what love is. You just clung on to the first thing you saw after Matthew." Mother growls at me. "You either break up with him Amelia or we disown you." Mother states simply with no emotion in her voice.
I felt my heart being ripped out of my chest I didn't want to break up with Darry I was serious when I said I thought I loved him. I felt like I couldn't breathe and I didn't know what to do but before I could comprehend what I was doing I was running out the door. Before I knew it I found myself at Darry's house I ran inside knowing he never locked the door and found him on the couch. "Amelia darling what's the matter?" he asked worried racing over to me and embracing me in a hug.
"I love you Darry and I never want to leave you." I sob into his chest. "I-love you too Amelia."
