Chapter 54
Eleanor's POV
Besides the whole scene with Mabel and my parents, the party went great. Bill told me to worry about them later, so I listened to him. I wasn't going to let them ruin my night. Bill - probably twelve times - offered me champagne but, I reminded him all those twelve times that that'd be 'under aged drinking'. I mean, I was living with a demon, so it didn't matter. But I was determined to stay clear minded when he was around.
Bill spun me around on the dance floor, pretty sure he wasn't in his completely sober state of mind. At least it wasn't like last time. Bill smiled at me. "Having fun?!" He asked for probably the fifth time during the dance.
I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Yes, yes I am. I already told you before."
Bill swung his arm around me and chuckled. "Oh, right. I forgot. Anyways..." Bill steadied himself, blinking a couple times. ".... I forgot what I was going to say."
I shook my head and made sure he didn't topple onto his face. I assumed that Bill's life had always been a constant party and he was trying to make me adjust to that. Eventually, that'd end in flames. Bill made champagne appear in his hand. "Want some?" He asked as he poured another glass and I swiped it away before he could drink anymore.
"For Christ's sake, Bill... I know you didn't promise to not get drunk; but still. Come on." I complained.
Bill nodded and raised his hands up in defense. "I know, I know. But this is what you do at parties, Arrow. You drink and dance and have fun!"
I narrowed my gaze, frowning as I inspected him. "Ok, but you start saying and doing some veeerrrry strange stuff when your tipsy so please, please, think of me and not just you."
Bill took a deep breath and closed his eye. "Ok... Fine." Bill made the glass I had taken teleport to his hand. "Why are you so boring, sometimes? I mean, come on. 'under aged drinking'? Seriously?!" Bill studied the liquid. "What does that even mean?"
I scoffed. "It means, I'm not twenty-one so I can't drink alcohol or any of that stuff."
Bill blinked and made a face. "Whaaaaaat? That's stupid."
I gave an unconvincing nod. "Oh, yes, sooooo stupid. I agree." I replied in a sarcastic tone.
"Thanks for agreeing with me!" Bill exclaimed and hugged me, spilling some champagne on the floor.
I cringed slightly at his awkward and flimsy hug. "Pft, you're welcome. Kay, let go."
Bill released me and steadied himself again. "Ok, one second..." He walked off sorta clumsily and left me alone. He walked up to one of the demons and rested an elbow on their...shoulder? I didn't know exactly what. "Hey." Bill said, wiggling his eyebrows.
I laughed to myself and went up, grabbing his arm, and dragged him away. Bill tripped spilling champagne all over himself. "HEY! Arrow, Arrow?! What are you doing?!"
I face palmed. "Trying to get you away, but you are too stupid. Can you come with me-"
"Yes! Come with me to get a fresh pair of clothes!" Bill just dropped the empty glass on the floor, letting it shatter. "ONWARD!" Bill cried and stumbled out of the room, gripping onto my arm.
I tripped after him lousily and barely made it to his room in one piece. "Bill, Jesus Christ..." I grumbled as Bill unlocked his door and threw it open and proceeded to announce, "I'm home!" to an empty room.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh brother..."
Bill tossed me, unexpectedly, onto his bed. "Ok, uno momento porfavor." Bill said, giggling, before he made his way to his closet.
I reclined on his bed, thinking about how stupid he was. "Make sure to dress in clothes! Not, blankets or something ridiculous."
Bill didn't respond, obviously enveloped in choosing a new suit.
I closed my eyes, waiting....waiting...waiting. I cracked open an eye. He was sure taking his time... "Bill?"
Silence.
I growled and got up with a groan and knocked on his closet door. "Helloooo?"
"Yes? Arrow? Um..." Bill broke off in a pause.
"Yes...?" I said through the door.
"Uh, I'm kind of stuck..."
I blinked in confusion and chuckled to myself. "Stuck, how the heck are you stuck?"
I heard Bill chuckled in embarrassment.
I sighed, opening the closet door. Bill had himself half way into his shirt, but he had messed up the opening for the arms and the head. He was trying to his stick his head up through an arm sleeve and one of his arms up through the opening for his head. He was just wearing his gray boxers and I could see his face squished tightly in the arm sleeve.
I burst out laughing. "Oh my God, Bill, you idiot!" I kept laughing, taking a moment to stopping laughing.
Bill whimpered. "Arrow! D-don't laugh! Come on!"
I walked up, not knowing what to do. "Ok, don't move, I'm going-"
Bill tried to walk towards me.
"Bill! That's the opposite of what I told you to do!" I growled, trying to stop him.
Bill sighed, his arms awkwardly held up in the air by the openings he had stuck them through. "Where are you?"
"I'm trying to take it off, but you keep moving." I grumbled and walked up, grabbing the hem of the shirt, making to sure focus on the shirt and not anything else.
Bill flinched, teetering backwards. "Whoa, there."
I rolled my eyes and walked back up to him. "I'm trying to help you!" I said through clenched teeth.
Bill turned around. "I know! I'm trying to help too!"
"Well, for the record, you're not helping!" I spat.
Bill turned back around and tripped on his clothes on the ground. Bill, his arms restrained, fell straight on top of me, crushing me.
I gasped and Bill let out a scream.
"I just fell!" Bill declared.
I glared at him. "I. Can. Tell."
"Did I fall on you?" He asked after a brief pause.
I continued to glare. "Yes."
"On top of you?" Bill continued to ask questions.
I growled. "Yesss."
Bill laughed. "In other circumstances this would be considered nice, but-"
"BILL!" I cried out in embarrassment.
Bill chuckled. "W-what?"
"You're so nasty!" I screamed and smacked him on the head, well, the shirt covering his head.
"Ow." Bill grumbled. "Can you get this shirt off of me?" He asked.
"That's what I'm- UGH! JUST-" I grabbed the top of the shirt and yanked it off, tossing it behind my head.
Bill blinked in shock and looked up at me, not bothering to be gentleman like and get up immediately. "Well, well, well. Here we are again, Arrow."
I tried to shove him off, but he refused stubbornly. "Jesus- Bill... I hate you!"
Bill laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up closer to him and I couldn't meet his gaze, my face could have been confirmed at the color of fuchsia. Curse my pale skin. "You are so squirmy." Bill stated.
I growled. "And you are such a jerk."
Bill frowned. "But we're married."
I rolled my eyes. "Please, not exactly and you know that."
Bill rested his chin against me and my arms dangled at my sides awkwardly. "Aw.....but Arrow-"
"But nothing! I could give you a number of reasons why, lets say one - a true classic of my excuses. I'm. Fourteen!!!" I ended up screaming that last part.
Bill glared at me. "Right. That excuse is getting on my nerves."
I gave him a fake pouting look. "Aw, too bad so sad."
Bill made an angry face, not letting go.
"You need to get dressed so you can return to your party." I informed him, trying to stay calm.
Bill smirked slightly. "They wouldn't mind if I was gone for a few hours..."
"EW! BILL!!!" I tried to push him away by shoving my hands in his face.
Bill began laughing hysterically and finally let me go.
"You are disgusting!" I shouted.
"I'm a trillion year old demon - honestly - what do you expect?" Bill sat up on his stomach and observed me from the ground.
I opened my mouth to argue and clamped my mouth shut. "Ok...honestly I should have expected this. But I'm pretty sure you should have expected me to turn you down."
Bill dropped his face onto the floor, groaning in frustration.
"Now get dressed, you messed up little man." I slammed the door and I heard him groan angrily again.
Bill stepped out literally the next instant dressed.
"How'd you-"
"Magic!" Bill said mysteriously, sending blue sparks from his fingers.
"You mean you could have gotten yourself out of that shirt the whole time!" I said, my face heating up.
Bill smiled sheepishly. "Well,"
I shoved him. "Ugh, you're jacked up."
Bill mouthed my words in an annoying manor. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who cares. Whatever." Bill took my hand. "What matters, is that I can and will do this 'embarrassing' stuff to you whenever I want 'cause I just can."
I prepared to argue back, but realized that he was right. "Well-"
"Come ooooon," Bill teased, "you know I'm right."
I gave up and Bill scooped me up once again.
"Time for us to return." Bill announced.
"And it's time for you to give up drinking." I added under my breath, but he heard me.
"Oh, one could hope, dream, pray; but we all know that's not happening." Bill said matter-of-factly.
I sighed. "I guess I should start excepting that."
Bill patted my head, making me blink. "Great that you are, Arrow. Great that you are."
*runs* DONT KILL MEH!
