Chapter 50
Bill's POV
"When he told me the truth." Arrow closed the door before I could reach for her, leaving me alone and shocked in the hallway.
"Arrow...?" I whispered. The truth? I thought. "Then that means-" I broke off as pure joy jolted through me. "HOLY-" I raced back to my room, elated and leapt onto my bed, cheering happily. "WHOO HOO!" I hugged myself. So that meant she liked me?! It had to mean that!
I raced out to the balcony and smiled down at the world. Even Pine Tree admitted that he didn't want to be with her, so it only left me. Perfect. I smirked up at Pine Tree's 'tomb'. He was dead and out my way forever now. He gave up on her. Just perfect...
Eleanor's POV
The next morning I sat cross legged on the floor, rethinking life. Just the norm. Ghost sat calmly in front of me as his yellow gaze studied me. "Had I admitted that I...I-?"
Ghost frowned and blinked.
I covered my face in embarrassment. "God, I'm going to regret that so much."
Ghost licked my arm sympathetically.
It was true that I was embarrassed that I told Bill, Dipper was right. I felt like I was betraying him, but I knew I wasn't since he was the one who told me. I patted Ghost's head gently and rested my chin in my hands. I still had to find a way to save the world and here I was kissing the enemy and having a slightly care-free time.
I got up and walked to the bathroom and turned on the sink and splashed some water on my face to clear up my thoughts. I spent so much time worrying that my head should have worn off by now. I exited the bathroom and opened my clothes chest. The dress still sat in there, with Dipper's pocketknife still in its folds.
I swallowed hard and slammed the chest before I could even think about it. I knew that I wanted to escape, but there was this yearning for Bill and I didn't want to hurt him. God, what had I become? I didn't want to hurt Bill? It should be the other way. Maybe Bill already didn't want to hurt me. I mean, when he was drunk (I know; not that much to rely on) he had told me I was pretty and kissed me and...
I brought my hands to my head and grumbled to myself. I was turning into this obsessed and desperate girl! I slipped a new dress on, a silky, black and flowing dress that had smooth sleeves that went to my wrist and the skirt going down to my knees. I fitted on black heels and brushed out my hair quickly. I picked up Ghost and snuzzled him. "You're too cute for a demon created dog." I kissed his nose and set him back on the ground.
My stomach growled. I hadn't eaten hardly anything in days, and that feast Bill had set up didn't go very well. I prayed that this breakfast would go better than the last meal. I grabbed the handle once it appeared opened my door, shutting it before Ghost could scurry out. I went down the now familiar hallways to Bill's room and knocked my hand against his door.
Bill called from the other side. "O-one second! Let me get my pants on!"
I flinched away from the door. "Ew!"
Bill scoffed. "Ugh, not that way Arrow, yeesh."
I didn't bother laughing at that and stood and waited. "Bill, hurry, I'm starving!" I complained impatiently.
Bill angrily swung the double doors open. His shirt wasn't even buttoned up yet as he fixed in his bow-tie.
I examined him and raised an eyebrow. "Really?" I said sarcastically.
Bill chuckled. "You're the one rushing me!" He fired back.
"Aren't you supposed to be ruling the world or whatever? I didn't know you could sleep in on a job like that." I paused and thought again. "Do demons really need to sleep?"
Bill sighed. "Well I'm human now so I kinda need sleep and whatever humans need for necessities."
I exhaled angrily. "That's a lot of things you need now, Bill."
Bill rolled his eyes. "I don't care." The demon put his shoes on and leaned back up.
I awkwardly pointed at his shirt. "Could you button up your...shirt?" I asked slowly.
Bill smirked at me. "I guess not since it brothers you." He walked off.
I scoffed and stomped my feet before following. "Could you make breakfast?"
Bill answer calmly. "Sure." He took me back to the dining room and waved his hand over the table a few times and all types of breakfast foods: pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon and so much more, appeared on the table. I sat down hungrily and loaded up my plate.
Instead of sitting across from me, Bill sat in the seat right next to me. I put two stacks of pancakes and three links of sausage along with a scoop of scrambled eggs on my plate.
"Do humans normally eat that much food?" Bill queried.
"Only if you've been starving for days." I poured syrup on top of my pancakes.
Bill slowly put one piece sausage on his plate and stared at it.
"What's wrong," I asked with half a mouth full. "You've seen food before."
Bill laughed awkwardly. "Ok...well... I've never actually eaten any..."
"Didn't you a couple days ago?" I swallowed and stared at him confused.
"Ha, no, I only drank the 'beverages.'" He chuckled nervously.
I set my fork down and smirked. "Mhm..."
Bill gave an embarrassed smile, which was honestly adorable! Wait, Eleanor, stop it. I ordered myself.
"Stop what, Arrow?" Bill asked as he closely inspected the piece of unbitten sausage on his fork end.
I waved my hand. "Oh, nothing, nothing."
Bill's adorable - I mean - Bill's smile turned into a smirk as he seemed to decode what I was thinking on his own. "Sure sure."
I cleared my throat. "Aren't you cold?" I asked.
Bill gave me a baffle glance. "Cold? Why?"
"'Cause you're shirt isn't buttoned up." I growled.
Bill let out a hardy laugh. "Is your mind seriously constantly drawn to my amazingly muscular chest?"
I could not help, but burst out laughing in embarrassment. "I-I, noooo!" Blush rushed to my cheeks.
Bill was laughing at how flustered I was. "Well your main topic seems to be revolving around that!"
I covered my face as it turned red. "I- no..."
Bill had the smirkiest grin on his face and he turned the fork in his fingers to examine each side of the sausage.
I pointed at the other side of the table. "Can't you sit there?"
Bill set the fork down. "Huh! How rude of you, Arrow!"
I clenched my teeth together. "Well you're embarrassing me." My voice shook nervously.
Bill sighed. "Yes, I am, it's my specialty."
I picked at my food with my fork and ate a piece of the scrambled egg on my plate.
Bill laughed quietly. "Ok, I'll button up my shirt, jeez."
I sat up straight with a triumphant look in my gaze. "Thank you."
"Do you want to see the view from my balcony?" Bill asked suddenly.
I finished up my plate. "Why...?"
Bill shrugged. "I don't know, come on." He took my hand and yanked me out of my chair.
"What, are we gonna do the famous Titanic scene up there?" I joked.
"I have no idea what the Titanic is, but sure." Bill continued to pull me along.
I scoffed. "Pft, I hope not."
Bill pushed open his doors again and walked to the left where the door to the balcony was. He twisted the handle and lead me out. It would have been absolutely gorgeous, besides the fact that the world was being destroyed. The ground was churned up by different monsters that had lumbered through and it seemed to be worse than before.
"Isn't it-"
"Horrifying?" I interrupted him. "Yup."
"That wasn't what I was going to stay..." Bill sighed as he held my hand, standing by the edge of the balcony
"Then what was it Bill? Gorgeous? Amazing? Phenomenal?" I questioned him.
"I was going to say 'different', but ok." We both lapsed into silence and just stood there, staring at the chaos. I barely noticed him actually holding my hand. Bill broke the silence first. "So what's this Titanic scene you're talking about?"
I smiled. "Well, in the movie Rose is standing at the edge of the Titanic, a giant cruise ship, and she feels like she's on top of the world. The guy she's in love with, Jack, he is holding her waist to make sure she doesn't fall and it's a pretty famous scene and so on so forth."
Bill blinked in confusion. "And you expected me to do that?" Bill asked.
I pondered on that for a bit and shrugged. "I don't know, it is your specialty to embarrass me as you said."
Bill picked me up by the waist and set me a top a bar running across the middle of the balcony fence.
I let out a shriek and flailed my arms. "BILL!" My stomach dropped to the floor as I found myself staring thousands of feet down to the ground.
Bill was holding me tightly. "What? Isn't this it?"
I trembled as my legs turned to jelly at the sight of this height. "Well, kind of." I tried to focus on telling him about the movie. "Rose - she begins to trust him, and he lets go of her waist and raises his arms up along hers and she feels like she's flying..."
Bill chuckled behind me. "You seem to really like this movie..." He breathed.
I smiled sheepishly. "It was always my kind of favorite movie of all time. My mom loved movies like Pride and Prejudice and all those types of movies, but Titanic was always my favorite..."
Bill took a moment to think and smiled. "Hm..." He stared at my arms. "Are you going to do whatever the arm thing is?"
I giggled. "I don't know if I trust you..." I teased.
Bill scoffed. "What?! Why not?!"
I blew my hair back out of my face. "Well, there's a number of reasons-"
Bill interrupted. "Just do it."
I sighed deeply and raised my arms up slowly like they were wings. The wind whipped by and felt Bill raise his arms up along mine. I could feel my entire body trembling at the fear of falling. Bill suddenly enter laced his finger with mine. My heart thumped loudly in my chest to the point it wasn't just the fear of heights that made me shake.
"Is this like the movie?" Bill asked.
I grinned. "Almost." I could almost sense Bill's smile. "Do you even know what a movie is?"
Bill chuckled. "Nope."
I laughed. "Oh well, you've matched the scene pretty well."
"Good."
I smiled, pushing aside the horrifying scenery and I could almost feel like I was flying.
Aw, the cutsie scene with Eleanor and Bill awwwwwww I liked writing this chappie :3
