Chapter 28

Dipper's POV

It had been a day since Bill had come into the orb and I had ran away like a coward. At least, I thought it had been a day. The concept of time had been jumbled up a while ago. Now, I was hiding in a giant cluster of boulders that formed a small cave, barely big enough to fit me. I coward inside of it as I looked up at the chaotic colors of our sky.

I felt guilty that I had all the food and water while Eleanor was up there all chained up. Not a second passed that I didn't feel guilty. If I still had the journals...I would have eventually found a way to defeat Bill, but now I was just a regular kid on summer vacation that got ruined, because a Dream demon brought Weirdmageddon upon us and is making the world go insane.

I scooted out of my hiding place and walked into town. I had to find somebody. I passed the bowling store from when I did 'Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained: Lefty'. As I walked farther down, I neared the mall and decide to enter it. There was possible civilization in there. I reached it without a problem and pried the doors open so I squeeze in.

"Hello?" I called, hoping for a voice to answer, but it was silent. I walked farther down. The second floor was completely covered in debris and on the right, the second floor had collapsed all together. I began to climb up the remnants of the second floor and reached the top.

I walked into a candy store and ran inside. "Hello." I whispered even quieter. Good. I began shoving the candy in my backpack eagerly. Something suddenly whistle by my ear. I shot up, startled as I saw an arrow stick into the wall.

I dove out of the way and hid behind a candy rack. "Please! I'm not a monster! I'm just a kid trying to get candy!" I blurted out pretty inanely.

"Dipper?"

I peered around the candy rack and saw Wendy. She was holding a cross bow in one hand and had here flannel jacket tied around her waisted. One of the sleeves was ripped off and tied around her head. "Wendy!" I exclaimed and ran up and hugged her. "I thought everyone was-"

"No dude, it's fine. I've been hiding in here since it happened." Wendy quickly interrupted. "What are you doing here? I thought for sure you'd be taken, no offense."

I sighed. "I've been dodging around town this whole time, trying to save my friends."

"Where's Mabel? Was she captured?" Wendy asked.

I held in my sob as I pulled out her statue.

Wendy gasped in horror. "Oh God...she did get captured." Wendy then flinched. "How did you get her?" She asked.

I looked down to the ground. "I found her statue in..this place where my other friend is captured."

Wendy blew a piece of hair out of her face. "I can't believe that triangle guy or the bats haven't found you yet. Were you just running around in the open?"

"I wouldn't say that I wasn't found..." I lightly touched the shackle unknowingly as I said that, but Wendy noticed.

"What's that?" She backed away one step.

"I-um..Bill put this tracking device on me. I've tried to get it off, but-"

"Tracking device?!" Wendy exclaimed. "Dude! He knows you're here! He'll find you-both of us!"

"I'm sorry! I have no where to go!" I cried.

Wendy's gaze softened. "Here, come with me, I'll show you my hide out so we can talk."

Wendy took my hand and pulled me away.

Eleanor's POV

I sat on the black tile, still chained up, as I braided my hair in a bored fashion. It actually wasn't too bad in here. I wasn't being attacked or in the middle of chaos, I was simply chained up.

The only bad side about that was Bill's frequent visits that I couldn't out run. I was worried about Dipper... It wasn't always reassuring for the last thing you see of a person is them running away in terror at the sight of a triangle.

I muttered to myself the alphabet when suddenly my breathing cut off. I looked around wildly in a panic. What was happening?! I suddenly realized I was having an asthma attack. I whipped out my inhaler and breathed in the air. Dang, it had been a while since that had happened. I slipped it back in my pocket.

"Having breathing troubles?" Bills voice drifted out from behind me.

I didn't turn around. "Who says I am."

"It's the air," Bill continued uncaringly, "that's why."

"I kind of figured that out." I muttered.

"You know, all your troubles-literally everything-could be dismissed if you do just one thing." Bill said mysteriously.

I turned around at that. "Oh yeah?" I asked. "What's that?"

"If you join me in this dimensional attack you will have no problems at all! You will be worshiped and feared!" Bill said happily.

I gasped angrily. "Like I would even think of considering that!"

"If you do, I would spare your friends and their family. The Pines family will be safe, maybe even a little resurrection for the deceased parents of yours."

I went white.

Bill smirked. "So, you wouldn't even think of considering it?" He asked.

I swallowed hard. Oh God... "You're saying...if I join you...that you'll spare the Pines family and my parents?"

Bill nodded.

I clenched my teeth. "NO! You're a trickster! You'd turn it around somehow, just for you!" I screamed. "I don't think so!"

Bill shrugged. "I guess your parents will remain dead and the Pines can be hurt, how ever I please." Bill thought for a moment. "Let's see, Shooting Star is already turned to stone, her Great Uncle isn't any bother... Oh!" Bill turned to me. "There's only. One. Pines. Left."

I cringed away.

"Do you know which one?" He asked.

I looked over at the crushed walkie-talkie. Dipper...

Dipper's POV

I sat in Wendy's secret hide out. It was nice and comfy-warm in here with a barrel fire in the middle that Wendy had set up.

"So, what's been happening to you since he took over?" Wendy asked as she sat down.

I fiddled with my shirt. "Well...I kinda know how this all started." I murmured.

"You do?" Said Wendy shocked.

I took a deep breath. "Yeah...it's kind of a long story."

Wendy got in a more comfortable sitting position, indicating that she was ready to listen.

"Ok, it started out when my friend, Eleanor, first arrive in Gravity Falls. She had came down to the Mystery Shack, since she was new, to make more some new friends. I met up with her and then...I guess she liked me." I smiled at the thought of that. "I had treated her pretty badly at first, I had hurt her feelings, so she was desperate for me and Mabel's approval. She made a deal with Bill, that if she gave him her blood, he would make us be friends..."

Wendy lowered her gaze. "Oh...and that's where it began."

I nodded. "Yeah, it quickly went south. He could control her and made her work on this project and when she finished, Bill came into the real world. He was...human."

Wendy paled as she listened to me. It wasn't pretty having to retell everything that happened.

"Eleanor hated him at first, and was mad at me for keeping the journals a secret. She befriended Bill and one day she came to me, and we agreed to tell each other what our secrets were." That horrifying moment was approaching... "I told her everything, and I had known about Bill then, I was mad at her. I tried to tell her to not trust him! But I had hurt her too much. She-she..." I broke off as the memories began to replay through my head. I don't want to say it... "She kissed him to prove it."

Wendy looked mortified when I finally said it. "You're joking...right?"

I shook my head. "No. Everything went down hill. She trusted Bill and then, Bill turned her into a demon. She tried to kill us, she murdered her parents and she was spiraling out of our control." Even though I was sitting by a fire, I felt a chill go through my body. "I finally got a hold of her, and she split her personality. The journals, if they were burnt, would bring about Bill being in a physical form. They ended up being burnt later on by the other 'Evil Eleanor.' After that...well Bill was released."

Wendy was holding her head in her hands. "Dang...all because she came to Gravity Falls..."

I bit my bottom lip lightly. "It-it's not exactly her fault for this happening. Bill tricked her." I said defensively.

"But you wouldn't give a strange floating triangle your blood, would or that seem a little...off." Wendy asked.

"It's doesn't matter! That's the past! She already regrets half the stuff she's done in life." I said angrily.

"She murder her own parents." Wendy murmured.

"Yes...she did." I sighed. "Look, I've been trying my hardest to rescue Eleanor-that's the girl-from the orb prison."

"Is that what the giant bubble is by the tracks?" Wendy questioned.

I nodded. "Yeah. She's chained up there, unable to leave or do anything. Bill frequently comes there and taunts her and tries to scramble her thoughts up, but I've snuck in a couple times to reassure her."

Wendy put an arm around me, which made me blush embarrassingly. "Hey, I'll help you get her out. Even if I get turned to stone or even killed, at least I'll know that I got you some of the way."

I smiled at her brightly. "Really?"

Wendy nodded and smiled back. "Of course. I'll be with you for as long as I can."

I hugged her happily. "Thanks Wendy..."
