Chapter 14

Eleanor 2's POV

I still couldn't believe the spell had actually worked! Now my petty feelings that had been getting in my way we're gone forever and I could complete this task flawlessly.

I then teleported back to where Bill left the journals. I picked up journal 1 and journal 3 and- wait.

Where was journal 2?

I screamed. "NO!" That other side of me, that other Eleanor had taken the journal! Where was she now?! Oh, she was going down! I raced off into the forest in a fit of rage.

Well, well, well. Looks like you're back in the game.

"Yes Bill, I need to focus right now. The other Eleanor has journal 2." I explained hastily.

Why'd you do the spell in the first place if your good side would still get in the way.

I rolled my eyes. "Please. I did it for good reason, but I should have killed her instead." I finally found the Mystery Shack.

Pine Tree and Shooting Star were running inside and the other Eleanor was right behind them. As soon as the twins disappeared inside I snatched the other Eleanor with my powers and dragged her back.

She let out a shriek as she dangled in the air. "Let me GO!" She screamed. She swung her fists aimlessly around.

I laughed at her feeble attempts. "Listen up Ella, I just need to kill you for a bit so you're no longer a nuisance."

"NO! Never!" She screamed at me.

I rolled my eyes. "You really think screaming that type of stuff is going to stop me from-"

"Hey you! Drop Eleanor right now!"

I looked down and saw Pine Tree and Shooting Star glaring up at me.

I chuckled. "Oh look, you hired two kindergarteners to do your dirty work."

Eleanor growled at me. "Let me go!" She looked down at the twins. "Guys, please! Think of something!"

Dipper pulled out a book. Journal 2. I gasped as everything narrowed down to that journal. Eleanor slipped from my grip as I raced down to the journal 2.

"DIPPER!" The other Eleanor cried.

Dipper looked up and screamed. He closed the book quickly.

"Dipper! Throw it!" She called out again.

Dipper looked in her direction and then flung the journal with all his might. Eleanor stood to her feet and caught it in mid-air. Mabel then ran up to her and they all began running. I screamed at them.

"NO! GET BACK HERE!"

Eleanor's POV

I raced into the forest with Dipper and Mabel right behind me. I can't believe I had actually been that insane... I held tightly onto the journal as we appeared to be running back to the lake.

"Dipper! Where can we hide?!" I screamed.

Dipper scrunched up his nose as he ran. "Uh, the falls! There's a cave back there! We can steal Thompson's boat!"

I nodded and handed the journal 2 to Dipper to put in his vest. We ran down into the dirt road and soon we were nearing the lake.

A bright flash of white exploded in front of us and Eleanor 2 stood in front of me. I screamed and threw Dipper backwards since he had the journal. Eleanor 2 stalked up to me with a smirk. "Hand me the journal!"

I showed her my hands. "I don't have it! You can have fun searching for it in the forest." I crossed my arms.

Eleanor 2 glared at me. "Oh sure, I know you have it!"

"We threw it in the forest! Have fun looking for it." Mabel said harshly.

Eleanor 2 board her gaze into us. Reluctantly, she teleported back into the forest. I turned to Mabel and Dipper.

"Quick! We gotta go to the falls before she notices we tricked her!" I raced down the road and reached the lake.

Thompson was in a scuba diving suit and his boat was by the dock. "QUICK!" I leapt onto the boat and turned it on. It revved up and Dipper quickly took the steering. We then bursted away from the dock and to the falls. Dipper held desperately onto his hat as we sped across the water frantically.

Mabel gripped onto the side of the boat as Dipper swerved around a corner. I saw the falls up ahead and Dipper pushed it to go faster.

"Whoa DIP!" Mabel cried. "S-slow down!"

Dipper didn't appear to hear her as he crashed through the falls and slammed into the sand. I screamed as I was flung off the boat and landed face first in the sand.

I leaned up and wiped it off my face. "Yuck."

Dipper got up triumphantly. "Yes! We can hide in here!"

I took the journal. "Dipper, we gotta bury this thing somewhere. It's too dangerous."

Dipper tensed up. He knew I was right. Dipper stared down at the journal. "I-I don't know...what if we need it? We don't have to read it-"

"Dipper! Our lives are at stake here!" I exclaimed. I brought the journal away from him. "We gotta bury it somewhere where the bad Eleanor won't find it."

Dipper sighed and glared at the ground. "Ok, yeah, I know."

I nodded indefinitely. "Ok, let's get digging." I walked farther back in the cave near the stone wall and began to dig with my hands. Mabel and Dipper joined in as we began our little task.

The sand was soft so it was easier to dig up. About ten minutes later we gave up digging as we reached four feet deep. I nodded and Dipper set the journal in. Dipper sprinkled some gravel on top and then we shoved all of the dug up sand back in. We smoothed it out to look like the rest of the small shore.

"I think...we're done." I breathed.

Dipper and Mabel nodded. "I'm just glad we don't have to worry about the end of the world anymore."

I sighed. "We still do, but it's not as drastic."

We all hopped back into the boat and Dipper backed out of the cave and we began the ride back to the dock.

"Do you think she's found out yet?" Mabel asked.

I held myself. "I hope not."

Dipper's grip was tense of the wheel. His gaze fixated on the shore line.

"Dipper...you ok?" I asked carefully.

He lowered his gaze. "I-I don't know..." He held his grip steadily. "It's just weird having you back, I mean after all of what happened. I mean you tried to kill us."

I nodded slowly. "I know, but Bill had tricked me."

Dipper sighed again. "I know, but it's weird 'cause this is and isn't you."

I blinked. "What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that you aren't the same person. You were split in half Eleanor, this is only actually 3/4 of you, that other 4th is lost somewhere in that other Eleanor." Dipper went silent.

I remained silent as well. "Oh...I...I-" I cut myself off. "Oh."

Mabel gazed at me in sympathy. "Hey, it's ok, at least we're friends again. And at least nothing super bad happened while you were going crazy."

I nodded, but I felt like I was forgetting something...

Dipper parked the boat and tied it up. We hopped off and ran back to the shack. Eleanor 2 hadn't come to kill us yet so maybe she was actually still looking for the journals.

"Guys, can we go to my house, I'm not leaving you guys until this is all resolved." I said before they went inside.

They both exchanged a glance and nodded. "Sure."

I turned around and ran to my house with them. As I neared it, a creeping sense of oppressing fell over me... What was I forgetting. Something hot burned on my wrist. I winced and looked down. A thickly outlined triangle was there...why was it there again? I pushed the door open to my house.

The light flooded in and I screamed. I screamed so loud that I thought my throat was going to crack. I fell back against Mabel and Dipper as tears rolled down my face.

"What is it- oh my GOD!" Mabel shrieked and froze.

Dipper's mouth just hung open in absolute shock at the matter. At the matter of my parents lying dead on the floor.

Dipper ran up to them. His face was white. "H-how did this happen?! Did Bill kill them?!"

I shook my head as a sob built in my throat. "No...."

"Then who?!" Mabel exclaimed.

I faced them both. "I-I did."

Mabel's hand recoiled away from me and Dipper took a step backwards.

"You-you-"

"I murdered my parents!" I screamed. I felt the tears of pain and guilt building up.

"How-how could you?!" Mabel cried.

"I didn't know what I was doing! I just-"

Dipper brought his hands to his face. "This can't be happening."

"Oh...but it is."

We all looked up into the shadows of the house and Eleanor 2 stepped out.

I flinched backward as her smile was sharp as a dagger. "Just, leave us alone!" I yelled.

Eleanor 2 laughed. "You really think I'm that stupid! That I wouldn't find you three?! You can't hide forever!"

I felt my powers stinging in my fingers. I didn't want to use them, I loved feeling human again, but I guess I should have known I would have to. The fire erupted from my hands and I shot it at Eleanor 2. She screamed and fell backwards in surprise.

I grabbed Mabel and Dipper's hands and dragged them out of the house.

"You still have your powers?!" Dipper exclaimed.

"Of course I do!" I raced farther and farther away from Eleanor 2.

"I think she's onto us hiding the journal." Mabel said.

I looked back at the house that seemed dark and vile now. "Me too."
