you think i'll be the dark sky so you can be the stars? i'll swallow you whole

RICK, Carol, Daryl, T, and Clarke were getting the cars inside the yard so that they won't be so out of reach.

"Alright, let's get the other cars in. We'll park 'em in the west entry of the yard," Rick demanded, his white shirt stained with sweat the to the hot weather.

Daryl scuffed, "Good. Our vehicles camped out there look like a giant "vacancy"."

Clarke rolled her eyes and nudged him with her elbow due to him being right beside her. He grunted and glared at her, but there was no anger in his eyes, just surprise.

Clarke furrowed her eyebrows before speaking, "After that, we need to load up these corpses so we can burn them."

T-Dog grimaced, "It's gonna be a long day..."

Clarke nodded her head and wrapped an arm around him. "It sure is, T."

"Where's Glenn and Maggie?" Clarke turned to Carol as she asked that question, and smirked. She knew exactly what those two love birds were doing right now. She had saw them sneak out of their cell really early this morning, groping each other. To say she was both amused and disturbed was an understatement. "We could use some help."

Daryl saw Clarke'sclook and they both smirked. She guessed he knew what they were doing, too. "Up in the guard tower."

Rick grew perplexed, "Guard tower? They were just up there last night!"

Theycall looked up at the guard tower, covering their eyes due to the bright ray's that the sun was beaming down on them.

Daryl looked to female Winchester with raised eyebrows, and she nodded. They shaped their hands over their mouths and shouted, "Glenn! Maggie!"

Glenn then came stumbling out of the guard's post, no shirt on and is buttoning his pants. He was clearly flustered. "Hey! What's up guys?"

Thwy all laughed, watching Maggie inside the guard tower, fumbling around. "You comin'?"

Glenn squinted his eyes. "What?"

They continued to laugh and Daryl was the one who shouted, "You comin'? Come on, we could use a hand!"

Glenn furiously nodded his head. "Yeah, we'll be right down!"

Clarke turned to Daryl and raised her hand, he flinched slightly. It wouldn't of been noticable to most people, but coming from someone who was abused by an ex boyfriend, she noticed it. She frowned. "High-five?" He relaxed and slapped the palm of his hand against mine. He cleared his throat and rolled his shoulders back before walking away. "Hey, you okay?" Shevtrailed after him but stopped once she saw the two prisoners off in the distance. "Oh, shit," she cursed, gaining everyone's attention. "Rick!" She gestured with her head towards the prisoners.

Rick turned to them. "Come with me." They all marched up to the prisoners, and Rick said, with authority in his voice, "that's close enough. We had an agreement."

Axel, the one white man, said, "Please, mister. We know that, we made a deal." At that, Maggie and Glenn came out of the guard tower, standing behind them. "But you gotta understand! We can't live in that place another minute, you follow me? All the bodies, people we knew! Blood, brains everywhere! There's ghosts!"

Clarke crossed her arms and rose an eyebrow. "Why don't you move the bodies out?"

"You should be burning them," T commented, not showing any sympathy.

Axel nodded his head. "We tried! We did!"

Oscar, the big colored man, pitched in, "The fence is down on the far side of the prison. Every time we drag a body out, those things just line up. So hump in a body and just running back inside.

"Look!" Axel stepped forward. "We had nothing to do with Thomas and Andrew, nothing! You trying to prove a point? You proved it, bro! We'll do whatever it takes to be a part of your group, just, please, please, don't make us live in that place!"

Rick shook his head, his eyes not leaving them. "Our deal is not negotiable. You either live in your cell block, or you leave."

Oscar turned to Axel, a 'I-told-you-so' look on his face. "I told you this was a waste of time. They ain't no different than the pricks who shot up our boys." He turned to the group, a glare on his face. "You know how many friends' corpses we had to drag out this week? Just threw 'em out like... Those were good guys! Good guys who had our backs against the really bad dudes in the joint like Thomas and Andrew. Now, we've all made mistakes to get in here, chief, and I'm not gonna pretend to be a saint, but believe me... we paid our due. Enough that we would rather hit that road, than to go back into that shithole."

Rick looked to Clarke and she pursed her lips, shrugging her shoulders. These guys seemed a whole lot better than Thomas and Andrew, but she didn't know these guys, they could have a grudge, and kill the. in our sleep. But, then again, she didn't know Rick and the others when she first joined them. So, right now, she was being a total hypocrite.

Rick nodded to Daryl who locked them up in a fenced guard tower. Daryl then joined the rest of the group who were debating on it.

Rick was glaring at T-Dog because he was the one who said they should be able to join them. "Are you serious? You want them living in a cell next to you? They'll just be waiting for a chance to grab our weapons, you want to go back to sleeping with one eye open?"

"Rick?" Clarke clicked her tongue angrily. "I'm speaking to all of us, we never stopped." She sighed. "To me, not bringing them in makes me a hypocrite, even the Greene's hypocrites. Actually, all of us are hypocrites." Maggie scoffed and looked at her, confused. "You took us in when you didn't know us, Rick and the group took me in without knowing me, I joined them without knowing anything about them."

She turned to Rick who had his face scrunched up in thought. "Bring them into the group. If we send them off packing, we might as well execute them ourselves. And even though they are prisoners, they seem like nice guys, and if they end up being phycotic, I'll put them down myself. But, from what I can tell, those two might actually have less blood on their hands than we do."

Daryl nodded his head in agreement, "I get guys like this. Hell, I grew up with them. They're degenerates, but they ain't psychos. I could have been with them just as easy as I'm out here with you guys."

"So you with us?" T asked Daryl, smiling slightly.

Daryl scoffed, "Hell no! Let 'em take their chances out on the road, just like we did!"

"Daryl," Clarke said, getting a little impatient now.

Rick spoke up abruptly, "When I was a rookie, I arrested this kid. Nineteen years old, wanted for stabbing his girlfriend. The kid blubbered like a baby during the interrogation, during the trial, suckered the jury. He was acquitted due to insufficient evidence, and in 2 weeks later shot another girl." He gave Clarke and T a look, "We've been through too much. Our deal with them stands."

Clarke nodded, biting down on her lips, looking down at the ground. She then scoffed and walked away, walking to where the prisoners were locked in. Their eyes followed her with curiosity. "Sorry, guys. I tried."

THEY were now trying to clean and organize the surroundings of the prison in order to be more comfortable living there.

Glenn pointed at a walker that was on the other side of the small pond. "Should I take her out?"

"No." Clarke shook her head, speaking for the first time in like five minutes, "If that armory hadn't been picked clean, we could spare the ammo."

Daryl nodded. "I'll start making runs, the sooner, the better."

Rick cleared his throat. "We'll throw as much wood as we can in the dog run."

"Won't the fire attract walkers? Maybe we should bury 'em."

"We're behind a fence. It's worth a one-time risk to get rid of the bodies for good. I don't want to be planting crops in walker-rotted soil."

"I agree with Rick." Clarke pursed her lips, nodding. She bent down and picked up some wood until her arms were full.

"Give me," Daryl grunted, moving the pieces of woods in his arms, to make room for more. He then reached out his free hand and tried to grab some of her's. She shook her head and moved her arms away from him just as they walked through the fence to go inside the walk way.

"I'm good, Daryl." He went to protest, but she spoke up abruptly due to seeing something amazing. Hershel was out walking, with crutches, but he was still walking. "Rick," she called out, gesturing to Hershel. Beth, Carl, Sophia, Jess, Mary and Lori were helping him. "He is one tough son-of-a-bitch."

Glenn cheered, "Alright Hershel!"

Daryl shushed Glenn, "Keep your cheers down." He nodded his head to the woods where a couple of walkers were walking out of.

Glenn's face contorted into anger and frustration. "Oh, man, can't we just have one good day?"

They continued to watch Hershel who looked around the prison as if it was his first time seeing it all.

"Walkers!" Clarke jumped, startled upon hearing Carl's scream. "Look out!"

Her smile dropped from her face as she saw the many walkers making their way towards them. She dropped the pieces of wood in her arms and ran towards the courtyard, the others behind her.

"No!"

Gunshots were going off in every direction, piercing through the air.

"Get out! Get out of there!"

Clarke skidded to a stop in front of the entrance of the courtyard -- it's locked and Glenn has the key. She turned around to see Glenn in the far back. "Glenn! The fucking keys!" Glenn scrambled, grabbing the keys out of his pocket. He threw the keys to Daryl who through the keys to Rick. Rick then scrambled for the door, unlocking it.

As soon as the door clicked open, Clarke pushed through it, pushing the prisoners out of the way, making her way towards where the walkers were. She whipped out her gun, taking off the safety before shooting at the nearest walkers. She ran towards the table that they had pulled out here, and front flipped onto it.

Once straightened, Clarke kicked a walker -- that was trying to get to her -- in the head so hard that it went flying back. Daryl came up behind it and stabbed it in it's head. She nodded at him in thanks before shooting at the walkers that was coming up behind Sophia. She screamed loudly, ducking.

Clarke jumped off the table and ran towards her, bringing Sophia close to her body. Clarke cradled her head as she shot at the remaining walkers that was out in the courtyard.

Clarke grabbed Sophia's face and made her look up at her, her wide green eyes found her blue ones. "Are you okay?" She nodded her head before burying her head into Clarke's stomach. She frowned as she realized that she was shaking.

Clarke turned her head to Beth who was helping Hershel down the steps from where they locked themselves in. "Beth!" She shouted, pulling Sophia with her as she walked up to Beth, and pulled her into an embrace. The three of them were in a group hug now.

"The almost got us." Beth looked up to Clarke, her blue eyes bluer due to the tears in her eyes. "But I pushed them away." Clarke smiled a little because of the proud look on her face.

"You did good, kiddo." Clarke patted her shoulder and looked to Hershel. "What the hell happened?"

Beth was the one who answered her, "The gate was open!"

Rick looked around worriedly and that was when Clarke realized that Lori, Maggie, Carl, T, Jess, Mary, and Carol were missing. "Where's everyone else?"

Hershel answered, "Maggie led Lori and Carl into C block!"

Beth added, "And T was bit!"

Clarke's eyes widened and she took a step back in shock. Her mind went straight to the fact that Sam and Dean would kill her if they found out mom and Jess died on her watch. "Anyone else?" She choked out, worried.

Beth looked up at the Winchester, shaking her head. "I couldn't tell." More walkers then came pouring in.

"Stay put!" Clarke shouted, pushing Sophia and Beth towards Hershel. She turned around and shot a walker straight in the head, it falling onto another walker who Glenn stabbed. She felt someone come up behind her so she turned around to stab the walker but Daryl came out of nowhere and shot it in the head with his crossbow. "Thanks." Daryl nodded at her.

Glenn came up to them, panting, while looking at the fenced area where the walkers had come from. "Those chains didn't break on their own. Someone took and ax or cutters to 'em." They all looked to the prisoners who walked up to the gate. "You think they did it?"

"Who else?" Clarke asked angrily, about to storm over to them when blaring alarms went off. She covered her ears, looking around in surprise. She then angrily growled in annoyance once she saw tons of walkers came out of the woods, towards the fence. "Oh! You gotta be kidding!"

"Clarke! Daryl!" Rick shouted as he shot at the speakers that were in the courtyard. Clarke raised her gun and went to shoot one, but it just clicked, alerting her that shebwas out of bullets. She huffed angrily and threw the gun to the ground.

"How the hell can this be happening?" She turned around to see Rick holding a gun to Oscar and Axel.

Oscar held up his hands. "Whoa, whoa, it has to be the backup generators!"

Clarke scurried to a hiding spot she had in a bush, and grabbed the machete she had hidden in it. She ran towards the prisoner's and held the machete up to Oscar's neck. "Well, how in the hell do you turn those on?" She was scared and anxious. Her friends, her family were in danger.

"There's three that's connected to a diesel tank, okay? Each one controls a certain part of the prison. The hatch shut them all off when the prison was overrun!"

Rick yelled, his voice raw, "Can someone open up the main gates electronically, with full power?"

"Well, I only went in there a few days, I... I guess it might be possible," Oscar sputtered out.

"Come with us!" Clarke shouted, pushing him forward.

"Let's go!"

Thet all started running into the prison, panicking.

Minutes later, they all bursted into their cell block, panting and out of breath, but they didn't care. Adrenaline filled all of their veins and they had one thing in mind... saving their people.

"Jess! Mom! Carl!" Clarke shouted, "Maggie! Lori!"

They had taken out nine walkers, five was in the eating area, and four actually in ther cell block. Clarke gripped onto the railing of the staircase, breathing in and out shakily. She won't be able to handle losing anymore people she cares about. "They're not here!" She shouted, her voice bouncing off the walls.

"They must have been pushed back into the prison!"

Clarke turned around to face the others, livid. "Somebody is playing games!" She screamed, "and I don't like games!"

Rick came up to ber, placing his hand on her shoulder, "We'll split up and look for the others. Whoever gets to the generators first, shut 'em down!"

"Let's go!"

They left the cellblock, running through the hallways.

It took going through a dozen or so walkers, to get to the generator room. They barged into the room, shutting the door behind then seeing as about a dozen more walkers were running after them.

"Daryl, get the door!" Clarke shouted as she struggled with keeping the door shut. Daryl's chest was against ger back due to him standing behind her, pushing the door shut.

"How do you shut these down?"

Clarke turned to Oscar, grunting, "Go help him!"

Oscar nodded. "I got it!" He ran to look at the generators, and showed something to Rick. "Right here."

Clarke could hear struggle going on behind them, but she couldn't do anything because the walkers were pushing on the door too hard. She glanced back at Daryl who looked down at her, and they both nodded.

They jumped back from the door, her body colliding with his. She jumped forward, and stabbed a walker at the same time as he did. They then pushed the door shut again, the weight on the other end a little less now but they were still struggling.

All of a sudden, everything went quiet behind then. Then.... "Shoot him! We can take back this prison. What you waiting for, do it! It's our house, shoot him!"

There was a gunshot.

Clarke ducked under Daryl's arms and turned around to see Andrew on the ground, a bullet wound on his head. She looked up from Andrew's body to see Oscar handing Rick his gun.

Rick took the gun and ran towards the generator, shutting off the alarms.

Clarke sighed and leaned up against Daryl who had managed to lock the door. At least the alarm was off and most of the walkers were put down.

"Let's go."

Clarke sstood up from Daryl and they ran back into the walker infested halls.

And they came upon two walkers eating on something.

Without thinking, Clarke threw her machete straight at one of them as Daryl shot an arrow at the other. She walked forward to grab her machete but stopped once she saw what they were eating on...

T-dog.

And right beside him was Jess' bracelet that was given to her from Sophia, and Carol's bandana.

Her vision became blurry as tears gathered in her eyes. She covered her mouth to block the sob that escaped her. She looked down beside the body to see Carol's scarf. She closed her eyes and forced back the sob before reopening them, and grabbed her machete.

"Let's find the others," she demanded. Lori, Maggie, Carl, and her mother better be okay or she will lose it.

They ran outside to see Hershel, Beth, Sophia where they had left them. And right behind them was Mary who was covered in blood and guts.

Clarke let out a breath of relief, but even though she was happy to see her mother alive, she still stepped around the woman and ran straight for the kids. "Sophia! Beth!" She pulled the two kids into a hug.

"You didn't find 'em?"

Glenn was the one that answered, "We thought maybe they came back out here."

"What about T, Carol or Jess?'

Clarke shook her head, burying her head into Sophia and Beth's hair. "They didn't make it."

"That doesn't mean the others didn't. We're going back!" Daryl, Clarke, and Glenn, you come wi--" Rick was cut off as the sound of a baby crying filled the air.

Clarke turned around to see Carl and Maggie walking towards them. Maggie was holding a baby, crying, unable to say a word. Rick moved towards them, dropping his weapons, he was starting to understand what was going on, so was everyone else.

"Where is... where is she?" Rick tried to go back in the prison, but Maggie stopped him.

"No, Rick, don't!"

Rick started to cry, and looked at Carl who was looking straight ahead, trying to show no emotion, but Clarke could see him struggling.

"Oh no...." Clarke choked out, shaking her head in denial. She knew that look. It's a look saying that he had taken someone's life, that life being Lori's, his mother.

"No! No!" Rick shouted.

Glenn tried to comfort Maggie by holding her, but she kept crying.

"Aahh! No..." Rick fell to the ground, and cried.

Clarke bite my tongue, trying to hold the tears that threatened to leave her eyes. And that's when she couldn't hold them back. First, one small crystal bead escapes from her right eye. She could feel the warmth, sliding down her cheek, and rolling off her chin. Then another. And another. Until herbeyes flood with them, coming like a rainfall. Sniffing every ten seconds, they fall, and fall, and she let them.

T-dog was dead.

Carol was dead.

Lori was dead.

And Jess was dead.
