We were in the car driving to a road in the middle of nowhere. That was where we were going to cut off the runaway car. While I was sitting in the backseat my friends started texting me.

Emily:So why did they drag you out of school this time?

Me: I still don't even know why.

Lauren:Why do you still not know? Did they even tell you?

Me:They didn't really tell me why. They just made up some stupid excuse that the front desk lady just happened to believe.

Lauren:Well you missed Katherine stand up to Emma.

Me:Really! That so no fair. It is a once in a life time opportunity to see someone stand up to Emma.

Emily:I know. I think someone recorded it on their phone. I will try and get it for you.

Me:Oh my god thank you. 

Emily:No problem.

Lauren:Hey do you guys want to come over later?

Emily:Sure.

Laura:Yeah.

Me:Yeah but I don't know what time I will be over with this thing that I am doing.

Laura:What are you doing anyway?

Me:My dad, Shane, and I are are trying to get these people that robbed a place.

Emily:That's fun.

Lauren:At least Shane is there to keep you company.

Me:Shut up.

"Jess put your phone down we are almost there," My dad said from the drivers seat.
"Okay dad," I said returning back to my phone.

Me:I have go talk to you guys later.

Emily:Bye.

Laura:Bye Jess.

Lauren:Bye.

When we got to a road that was middle of nowhere. My dad and Shane got out of the police car and put a spike strip on the ground to help pop the tires so the car would slow down. When they got back into the car they drove back to were some of the other police men were at.  We all got out of the car and I grabbed my black and gray 9mm handgun.

"Hey Jess why aren't you wearing your uniform?" Asked officer Dan.

I look down at my outfit and realized I had forgotten to change out of my clothes once my dad got me. So I had on jean shorts, a navy colored tang top, my black high top converse, and I still had my hair in a long braid.

"Well it's because my dad pick me up from school and I just kind of forgot to change into my uniform. Do you have a problem with that?" I asked officer Dan. He shook his head no and had a scared look on his face.

"You know it would be cool if we could be on one of those top ten deadliest chase shows," officer Pete said when we were all in position behind the wall of police cars waiting for the runaway car.

"Don't get off track guys," My dad said and then started talking about police stuff and how we shouldn't get off topic.

"It would be cool to be on one of those shows though," Shane said. I laughed and my dad gave me one of those looks like this is no laughing matter we are on the job right now.

In a blink of an eye I saw the car coming over the hill. Lets just say when the car went over the spike strip it was like we were in an action movie. The tires blew and the car started to get out of control and eventually started to roll; but soon stoped.

"Jess, if they start shooting stay behind me," Shane told me. We all waited even the police officers that were chasing the car got out and waited. We all thought they got killed; but they didn't.

Two guys started shooting at us. I kind of stayed behind Shane; but I don't always have to follow what he says. I started shooting and I nailed one right in the shoulder. Then one of them shot my dad.

Once we saw that the last guy was down and no one else was in the car. Shane and I carefully made our way over my dad to see if he was okay.

"Don't say anything to Lori," My dad said as he stood up checking where he got shot. When another one of those basterds came out from nowhere and shot my dad in the shoulder.

"No!" I yelled as I shot the guy right in the head then ran over to my dad. Shane was already next to him putting pressure on the wound and telling people to call an ambulance. Both of us were trying to get my dad to stay awake and to stay with us. That is when I thought I was going to loose one of the most important people in my life.
