Time With Val And Uriah

Time With Val And Uriah

"It's going to be a little longer for the survivors, Sir. Later this evening. I didn't get an exact time but I gave them my number. They will call. There are some that will need to be talked to and some that..." Val looked down. His hunters didn't make it. There were five wolves that were dead. Uriah's pack lost some good wolves.

"I know. The Alpha informed me before I arrived. Thanks anyway." Uriah sounded sad. He had a lot of people to deal with later.

Val cleared his throat. "We have a few hours. Let me buy you lunch."

Uriah was taken by surprise. "Oh, that's kind of you, Val." He wasn't turning this man down.

Val walked with Uriah three blocks over and sat at a table for two. It was a nice bistro. They talked and ordered their food. Val enjoyed the conversation. "So, what was it like growing up with Byron?" Uriah had to ask.

Val smiled. He felt so comfortable with Uriah. "Well, we didn't. He's older than me. He was already the Alpha when I was born. He was fourteen when he took over. He was fifteen when I was born."

"Holy shit! I had no idea he was that young when...he was Alpha!" Uriah was shocked. "I have heard stories but I just figured they were embellished." He stopped. "I don't really want to talk about him. So, you are his security?"

Val smiled. "Yes. He probably doesn't need it but I hate to let my guard down, so I keep him guarded. I love him and will protect him with my life." He cleared his throat. "Sorry."

Uriah smiled. "You're fine, Val. I just have my crazy sister! My dad and I didn't really get along but he was good to his people. He died last year and now I find myself as the pack Alpha. I never planned on it. It's a small pack so that's good. They are all wonderful and they love me."

"Sorry to hear about your dad." Val sipped his water. "Where's the food?"

Uriah looked around. He was about to pull Alpha when a server showed up with a large tray. "Right on time." The server placed the place on the table and took off.

"Not too friendly, huh?" Val smiled. He was fine with that. He wanted to just talk to Uriah.

"Good. I wanted to talk to you, not the server." Uriah watched Val blush.

Val chuckled. They ate food and talked through the meal. It was a nice afternoon and they spent it getting to know each other. Lunch ended when Val got a text that Uriah's people were ready and he had to ID some of them but that would be a couple of days. They had a lot of people to deal with.

"I will stay with you, Sir. Some things shouldn't be done alone." Val cleared his throat.

"I don't want to keep you from your job, Val." Uriah didn't want to get him in trouble with Byron.

Val smiled. "Byron's fine and he has Malcolm to guard him right now. That man is tough. I wouldn't fuck with Malcolm. They are fine without me for now. I think you need me more." He cleared his throat.

Uriah nodded. "Thanks, Val. I owe you. Thanks for lunch. Maybe we can do dinner too." And breakfast. Uriah was terrible.

Val nodded as he stared into those blue eyes. They were a pretty crystal blue. "I would like that, Sir."

"Uriah. Please, call me Uriah." Uriah looked into Val's dark eyes.

"Uriah." Val repeated. He got goosebumps.

Uriah sighed and closed his eyes. "Yes. I like that. I like it when you say my name."

Val sighed. "I'm in deep shit!" He covered his face.

Uriah looked surprised. "Oh, I figured you were into women."

"I am sometimes. I'm interested in one man right now." Val watched Uriah. He smiled.

Uriah smiled back at Val. "Good."

"So not good! Let's help your people and talk. Okay?" Val was lost.

Uriah sighed. "Right. Thanks for your support, Val. I really appreciate it." He grabbed Val's hand on the table and held it. Val just sighed.

"Always." Val was doomed. He never felt this when he touched anyone. His wolf growled and was ready to claim Val as his.
