The Announcement

The Announcement

It was midnight in the field again and Kitty wasn't missing this. She was excited and a little worried. This was her first werewolf meeting.

Malcolm stood beside Byron and Val. Adam stood where the Beta stood, on the Alpha's right side.

Byron smiled and looked at Malcolm as his face changed. He howled, loud and long. Kitty had to cover her ears. Malcolm loved it when his mate did this. It was so sexy and he knew that was weird.

They watched everyone gather. They were ready for this meeting because Adam had warned everyone. They wondered what the news was. There were more wolves then Kitty imagined. The field was covered in people.

"Thanks for coming. Good to see everyone on this fine night. I called this meeting for two reasons. First, I have picked a Beta to replace Skyler, Adam Winchester, and he accepted my challenge."

"Please congratulate him when you can. If you have problems, feel free to talk to him as well." Byron growled. Kitty backed away out of fear.

Byron was not to be questioned. She noticed that everyone stepped back except Malcolm. She could visibly see him move toward Byron. She had another question.

"Wonderful. Now, you all know about my mate, Malcolm." He looked at Malcolm and then looked out into the crowd. "We are getting married on Saturday." Byron smiled.

The crowd actually clapped and cheered. Clearly, they didn't have a problem with Malcolm. Kitty relaxed a little. She wondered how the news was received and could see that Val was right. They didn't seem to care. They were just happy that their Alpha had a mate.

"I have Sheila planning the celebration and she always does a wonderful job." Byron saw people nod. "I don't know about anyone else but I could use a run!" More cheering. Byron removed his clothes and Kitty gasped. Byron chuckled as he released his wolf. He took off and Malcolm laughed.

"You forgot something!" Malcolm gunted and took off running. He caught the wolf, dove on him and they were in a pile on the grass. The wolf rolled and stood as Malcolm hopped on. They were gone into the forest somewhere.

Others were naked and changing to wolves as Kitty watched. It was a lot of nudity and no one seemed to notice. She watched people turn to wolves in amazement. There was a lot of howling and Malcolm was somewhere laughing.

Kitty was shocked because she never saw a werewolf before. She had no idea what they looked like, never really thought about it. They didn't look like wolves at all. She was shocked.

These were big and tall and their paws were not paws, they were more like leathery hands with claws. Some of them had fur on the top of their feet. They had a tail but it was not a long happy dog tail, it was short and stubby. She wasn't sure if they wagged but she wasn't asking.

These things were scary. They all had creepy, scary yellow eyes. These were not normal animal eyes. She shivered and Aspen wrapped an arm around her. He probably thought she was cold.

Val smiled at Kitty and stripped. "Nothing to be afraid of, Kitty. No one will hurt you." Val promised and he was a wolf.

He looked at her as he walked past. He nuzzled Aspen and Kitty to let them know they were safe, he trotted off and howled. He was gone in the woods.

Kitty thought he looked like Byron's wolf. They were almost the same silver but Byron was shinier and bigger. His wolf was huge. Much bigger than the other wolves. He was the Alpha.

"I have never seen Malcolm that happy!" Kitty was amazed.

"Me neither." Aspen was wrapped around Kitty. "It's one reason I didn't freak out."

"How did they tell you?" Kitty watched Aspen. Wolves were still howling somewhere.

Aspen laughed. "They didn't. I was looking for Tucker a couple of days after the funeral and walked into the living room. They were wrapped up together, kissing. I was shocked to say the least. I figured he had been with men before but this was different."

"Byron was holding Malcolm so tight, like he couldn't survive without him. I never saw two people that intimate. I was pissed because Tucker was dealing with Trish's death and I thought Malcolm was being, well, Malcolm. I yelled at him and Byron defended him and never released him."

"Malcolm is a strong man. I think only an Alpha could tame him." Kitty smiled.

"They are not close to tame, Kitty, but I know what you mean. He would never love anyone less than an Alpha." Aspen sighed. "Our son is going to marry a man."

Kitty laughed until she had tears. "Naylene is going to have a field day with this information." Kitty smiled. They will be the talk of the town.

"She thinks she is so great because her daughter married a football star! Wait until I tell her my son married an Alpha. The Alpha! I can't wait to rub that in her face!" Kitty smiled. She was winning this contest.

"Kitty, this is about Malcolm being happy not about your weird feud with Naylene!" Aspen was amazed at his wife sometimes.

Kitty smiled. "I know but I win!" She was proud of her dysfunctional family.

Malcolm rode back on the wolf to Byron's pile of clothes and watched him change as the sun was rising. Byron threw his jeans on and kissed Malcolm and never intended to release him.

People made it back to their piles of clothes and watched the couple as they changed. Kitty and Aspen were well rested. They slept all night while the wolves were running.

Byron smiled at Malcolm. "What did you do last night?"

Malcolm smiled. He loved that question. "I got engaged and ran with my wolf. What did you do last night?"

Byron growled. "I fell more in love with you." He held Malcolm's face and kissed him softly.

Kitty cleared her throat. "Uh, Malcolm."

Byron released Malcolm and cleared his throat. "Sorry about that, well not really. I had to kiss my fiance."

"I just, I have something for you if you are interested. I was saving it for one of you boys." She held out a ring. "It was my great grandmother's but I figured you could use the stone and put it in a different ring."

Malcolm just stared.

"Unless you have a ring already?" She was ready to put it away if they didn't want it. Maybe give it to Ruth or Emma.

"Mom! Are you sure?" Malcolm was shocked.

Kitty smiled. "I am positive. I talked to your brothers and they were good with it. I think this would be a perfect gift and I want to pay for the ring."

"Kitty! You don't have to do any of that. I can get the ring for Malcolm. It would be my pleasure." Byron promised.

"No way! I am helping whether you like it or not." Kitty promised.

Byron smiled. "Okay." He relented. "We can go today, the four of us." Byron was casual.

Kitty looked confused. "Four?"

"My mom will want to join us." Byron pointed. Jill was marching toward them. Kitty saw a pretty woman walking towards them. She had Byron's dark eyes and pretty brown hair with streaks of grey.

"Byron! Why didn't you tell me you set a date!" Jill hugged him and then Malcolm.

"Sorry. It just happened and then I was making arrangements all day. I'm sorry." Byron smiled. "Mom, this is Kitty. Malcolm's mom."

Jill gasped and hugged Kitty. Kitty hugged her back. "Nice to meet you! I'm Jill."

"It is nice to meet you, Jill. Are you okay with these two?" Kitty asked.

Jill smiled. "Anyone that can make my son that happy and make him laughed like that, I am in heaven. I love Malcolm for Byron, Kitty. I hope you are okay. Are you okay?"

"I would have never thought so but yes. I agree with you. They are perfect for each other." Kitty smiled.

Malcolm lost interest in their conversation because he was tangled up in Byron. Byron kissed Malcolm and sighed. He bit Malcolm's ear and whispered in it. "We have things to do today but later tonight, in the woods..." He didn't need to finish the thought.

Malcolm nodded. He whispered in Byron's ear as he bit it. "I can't wait. You better mark me." He bit Byron's ear hard and ran his tongue over it.

Byron moaned. "Hell yes, my love! We have five days and we will be married!" He got goosebumps.

Someone groaned. Cash. "Come on!" Cash complained. He was wrapped around Emma. She laughed.

Malcolm just smiled but he didn't look away from Byron. "When we are alone." He smiled.

Byron nodded and turned to the group he forgot about. "Oops." He smiled with Malcolm. "We were making plans."

"Don't ask!" Trevor, Tucker and Cash all shouted at Kitty. She was going to ask. The men laughed.
