Inside The Green River Pack

Inside The Green River Pack

Malcolm followed Cash down the two flights of stairs to the living room. Cash patted Malcolm's back and walked out of the house, Malcolm looked around. The living room had a giant fireplace. It looked old and had a wolf symbol carved in the bricks. Malcolm knew this was the symbol of the Green River Pack. He touched it and sighed.

He still couldn't believe he was here. Byron's office was off of the living room and visible from the front door. He was always available to his people.

The living room was decorated in a lumberjack motif. There were heads of different animals on the walls, gazelles, moose... was that a lion?! And other animals on the walls.

Two couches were in the room and they matched. Brown soft leather. They both fit four people easily. There was a love seat and a large chair beside a table. There was a pipe in an ashtray.

Did Byron smoke a pipe? Malcolm was curious. The chair smelled like Byron. He sat here. This was Byron's chair. He kinda wanted to sit in it. This was Byron McIntyre. The Alpha! Malcolm wanted to be like him when he grew up and now he wanted to kiss him.

Malcolm gave in and sat in the chair. He rubbed the arms of the chair with his hands. Byron sat here. He inhaled and smelled Byron's scent.

It was time to analyze this situation. What was his problem? He had seen hot guys before and never wanted to kiss them or have sex with them. Byron was different and he had no idea why. Hell, he never felt this way about women. He always wanted to have sex, sure but nothing this strong. He never felt so connected before. The only people he felt connected to were his brothers.

This cabin was fantastic. He could hear Byron being the Alpha and got those melting goosebumps again. He enjoyed them as he inhaled and enjoyed Byron's scent.

"Val, I need you to do some scouting for York but quietly. Take just one more, uh, Adam will be perfect. Take him with you and stay silent. Get back here by the moon. Stay safe."

Val smiled. "Always, Sir. We got this. I know that York's a sneaky bastard and we can handle this. I'm taking the phone just in case. Sir. We will stay in touch."

"Be careful and silent." Byron nodded as Val left. "Malcolm?"

Malcolm heard his deep voice and got chills. He cleared his throat and leapt out of the chair and almost ran to the office. "Hey. Just eavesdropping." He teased and walked into the office.

"Good." Byron smiled and cleared his throat. "This is my office. I live here most of the time." Byron sat. "Sit. Please."

Malcolm looked around. The walls on the left were lined with books and some of them looked old. Byron's desk was large and heavy. Oak maybe. He sat in a large brown leather chair. The chairs in front of the desk matched but they were smaller.

The walls were wood panels but lighter wood than the desk. There was a stuffed, giant black bear in the corner of the office, the opposite side from the books. There was nothing else in this room. His desk had a stack of papers in a folder and a laptop. There was no clutter.

"Nice. Maybe you need a vacation too!" He looked around as he sat in a chair. "Is that bear real?" He was looking at the large taxidermied bear standing in the corner.

"Yes. It was. I caught it myself." Byron smiled.

"And the lion?!" Malcolm had to ask. Byron nodded.

"Hot!" Malcolm smiled and shook his head. "What am I doing?"

"Flirting with the hottest guy you've ever met!" Byron winked.

"I should stop before I clear your desk and take you on it!" Malcolm shouldn't have said that out loud.

Byron laughed and covered his face. He took a breath and dropped his hands. "We are in deep shit, huh?" Malcolm nodded. "So, you want a tour?" He smoothed his beard.

"Yes. This is so exciting! I have to tell my dad about this...not all of it though." He ran his hand over his face. "I don't even know what to say about this! Whatever it is!"

"Me either. I dodged a couple questions from Trevor." Byron smiled and stood up. "Come on, Malcolm."

"Yep." He followed the Alpha without question.

"This is the kitchen and that is the dining room but we just use that for extra office space." The kitchen had a large eat-in area with a large table and eight chairs.

"We eat outside on the deck most of the time as a group. We are very social creatures, Malcolm." He thought he should warn his ...boyfriend. That word just popped in there. He was in trouble and he wanted to hate himself. He melted a little instead.

"Social? Is that another word for sexual?" Malcolm had to ask.

"No, perv!" Byron laughed with Malcolm. "We are social like wolves. We're more like them than humans. We're very family oriented. That is what I meant! I don't hide things from them and I don't just have sex with anyone and never have sex with anyone from my pack. I thought I should tell you that."

"Oh. So, you have standards?" Malcolm had to ask and he was flirting again.

"Not too high!" They were walking up stairs. Byron pulled Malcolm up the stairs and held his hand. He wasn't letting go.

"Ouch. I feel like I took a hit on that one!" Malcolm laughed with Byron.

"You're hot and you know it, Malcolm." Byron was blunt.

"Yes, I know. So are you." Malcolm almost blushed for the first time in his life.

"Yes, I am." Byron laughed.

"Uh, I have slept with a lot of girls but I never stayed with them." Malcolm wanted to clear that up.

"Thanks for the information. No guys?" Byron smiled.

"Nope. Just you, apparently." Malcolm sighed and looked at his hand. He was holding Byron's hand. "This is so weird." They turned a corner and stopped at the only door in this hall.

"My room." Byron cleared his throat. "I never bring anyone up here. I felt that I should say that. I wanted you to know that this is weird for me too."

"Let's get this over with!" Malcolm teased and walked in first as he released Byron's hand.
