Headquarters

Headquarters

After Emma and Cash kissed in the den, Cash and Malcolm went to clear out their apartment. They were moving in to keep everyone in one place. They had thirty days to plan. Emma wanted to get this bastard, York. Find out who he was and kill him. Stop him from hurting people.

She was trying not to think about Cash. Trying to keep herself together. No one ever kissed anyone the way that Cash kissed her. She couldn't wait to kiss him again but she was trying to keep her distance.

What would Trevor do? He was always in control and steady. Level headed, that is what she would call it. Level headed. He never did anything without thinking it through and writing a report in triplicate. He was very sensible and she admired that.

She was going to be more like her brother and take this slow. She spent the day working out and trying to be sensible. She thought that Trevor would be proud.

Cash and Malcolm were in their place packing. Cash finally called Tucker. This call was a week overdue and Tucker would be upset.

"Hey, how are things? What has taken so long? I was getting a little worried." Tucker smiled into his phone. He knew those boys were fine. They were never foolish.

Well, Malcolm was sometimes but never Cash. He never worried about Cash. Cash knew how to keep Malcolm focused, that was something that Tucker couldn't do.

Malcolm smiled. "We have a lot to talk about really! Oh, we found York's compound but he was gone and we found that hunter that was rumored to be running around alone." Cash glared at Malcolm.

"Really! Okay. First, York got away. You let that bastard get away? How did that happen and do you need me? I can be there in a week." Tucker was ready. Actually two days if they needed him.

"Uh, no. Don't worry. We have this handled. Soon." Cash said it really fast. He didn't want Tucker to come here. He glared at his twin. Malcolm better not say anything about Emma.

"Uh, right. We have this. So far. We just called to let you know we're moving. I'll give you the address later, when it can be encrypted. My phone sucks and I'm not sure what the address is yet." Cash should have stopped talking.

"You are moving and don't know where?" Tucker was surprised. "What's going on?"

"Well. We know where but we don't know the address." Malcolm helped out. "Uh, nothing is going on. Nothing that Cash needs to tell you." Cash glared at his brother. He was punching him in the face later or stabbing him in the leg.

"Okay...start talking." Tucker had to know now. He was getting worried. "Or I'm on my way."

Cash sighed. "We found the hunter. The one we were looking for..." Duh. Of course, stupid. He motioned for Malcolm to tell the story. Cash was stupid right now.

Normally, Cash handled the briefing but he had Emma on his brain and it wasn't working. Malcolm got to the date he had with Candy and derailed.

"She was hot. Her dress was so tight that I could tell she wasn't wearing any panties! I was dying to get her back to my place. Tucker! She was no joke...sexiest woman. I peeled that dress off her and I was not disappointed!"

"Malcolm! That's enough about the girl. Was she the hunter?" Tucker figured she may have been because that was all Malcolm talked about. Candy. Tucker sighed. "You are such a whore! Cash, is there any way you can just tell me about the hunter?"

Malcolm almost lost it. Cash was the whore this time. Cash smiled and shook his head. Tucker wasn't going to enjoy this. "So, that doctor. Dr. Emma Beckett. I..."

"What does she have to do with anything? This is the doctor from the morgue that saw you kill the vampire?" Tucker was trying to get information from these guys but it was like pulling teeth.

"Right. Emma." Cash flinched.

"Emma? Damn it. Can't either of you keep it in your pants?" Tucker smiled. Cash was calling a doctor by her first name. He never got personal.

"It gets better!" Malcolm laughed.

"Shut up!" Cash glared. "It's not important. Really. We found the compound and the hunter at the same time. The hunter helped us. She saved my life. Killed a vampire that was coming for me. I almost didn't know it was there. She got it and I stabbed her. It was an accident."

"The hunter is a woman? Are you sure about that? From my reports, the hunter is a man. It's what all the vampires swear to." Tucker was confused.

"No. She is a woman. Ask Cash. He knows." Malcolm was enjoying this.

"What? What does that mean, Cash?" Tucker was confused again and getting concerned. "Do I need to come to you?"

"No. It's nothing. Malcolm is stupid. It's nothing. Nothing happened." Cash swore.

"He made out with the doctor, Emma, in the morgue and as it turns out, she is the hunter we were looking for and there is more!" Malcolm was really enjoying this.

"Shut up!" Cash hated his brother right now.

"What!? I'm coming. You made out with a doctor in the morgue? Gross! The hunter is a woman, the doctor and please say that the hunter isn't a man!" Tucker was annoyed. "So, you made out with said doctor...in the morgue? Then found out that she was the hunter?"

"Yes. Emma Beckett is the hunter." Malcolm was all smiles. "Oh, we met Byron McIntyre. The legend. You know the Alpha from the Green River Pack. We met him. They know him. Can you believe it? He is awesome. I have never met a man that was that hot!" Malcolm smiled. He was kind of worried that he had a man crush on Byron. Who didn't though?

"So, the hunter is a woman and she helped you with the compound and you met The Alpha! Cool!" Tucker wished he went. "Please say that you didn't hit on the Alpha, Malcolm!"

"No!" Malcolm thought about it. "Uh, I may have but he's very hot! I may have hit on him a little! Oh, there's more...Cash, you want to tell him?" Malcolm nudged his brother.

"No. That's all. Nothing else is important." Cash reassured Tucker.

Tucker knew he was lying. Cash was a bad liar. "What?"

"Well...Emma...the hunter is so successful because..." Cash sighed. He didn't want to say it out loud.

"She is a vampire! Can you believe that shit!" Malcolm yelled into the phone. They heard a click. Tucker had hung up. "He's coming, huh?"

"Yes. Thanks to you. You made him worry. Let's get out of here!" Cash sighed and loaded the last of the computer stuff and they drove to the Beckett house.
