The delirious woman pushed Adris firmly on his ass and pressed her large breast in his face.
Her anxious hands furrowed inside his pants finding his flacid cock.
Adris got up and pushed her away.
"Stop." He fixed his clothes.

"Adris, why are you like this?" She wailed from the floor.
"Don't you love me anymore? You loved me!"

"It's bold of your to assume I ever did." He spoke calmly.

"Adris." She said in shock. "You said we would be together forever."

"Only in your mind, darling."
Her arms squeezed his left thigh as tears filled her almond shaped eyes.
She was beautiful when she cried. In her face he saw so many others- each one as beautiful as she.

And like the many, her tears moved no part of him.
His heart remained frozen in place.
Leaning down until their noses almost touched, Adris pried her hands away and offered a pitying smile.
"Adris, if you leave now, you'll regret it."
Adris walked around her and shut the door behind him and didn't look back.
Her screams riding on the midnight air like those of a banshee.

Adris rolled his shoulders and took a peek at the clouds in the night sky as he reminisced the feeling of regret.
The years went by but his scars bled the same.
Time still held one regret to be true and everything else was nothing warranting an effort but a shrug.

Spring was fast approaching and the rich blue sky and cool weather encouraged nipping buds out on the branches.

Aphrodite ripped a statue of baby Eros off the walls with a gruttal scream.
The cherub crashed at the feet of the Adris who watched the passing clouds from the open 50 foot window.
"She's dead Adris! When will this vendetta against me end?"
Aphrodite's words drew his attention for the first time that day.
"Why do you think it's about you?"

"Because it is." Eros said, swooping in from the window.
"Thank you, Eros. You keep targeting my followers." Her rage, again, directed at Adris

"We all know that's not what I meant." Eros said.
Aphrodite touched her hair and looked away from the gods.

"I'm not to blame, Deedee. You keep sending your people to me."

"The blames is all yours." She asked. "Why wouldn't I send distractions when you fuck around ruining my young followers with the most brutal heartbreaks? How many have locked themselves in seclusion? How many have you killed!"

Adris sighed and Eros came to him defense.
"He didn't kill anyone. Those girls deserved death after what they did. You give Adris entirely too much credit."

Aphrodite scoffed surprised at the ignorance of Eros.
"It always comes back to her! He's doing this because of that ugly bitch who cheated on him then died. It was in the past! get over it."

Adris' fist clenched. "Shut up!"
The passion behind the words surprising Adris himself.
It'd been almost a century and even the idea of her still affected him.

"You will respect me. Don't forget I made you a god!" she screamed and he was forced with the memory.

His eyes were rimmed with red, his face gaunt and pale.
"Aphrodite, please. I'm begging. I don't want it."His plot for revenge fallen to the wayside.
He didn't want immortality. What he wanted was an end to his misery.
There'd been days like that after ... Days when just he couldn't.
"You don't mean it." Aphrodite cooed as she played in his hair while he knelt there a broken man.
"You'll see it's for the best. You'll thank me. We'll be a real family and you'll forget all about her."

Oh how could he forget how magnanimous she has been. Once, a long time ago, he'd wanted nothing more than to be apart of Aphrodite and Eros's immortal family.

"If you think I'm so ungrateful... Take it away." Adris smirked in her face.

It was Aphrodite who couldn't let him go and she'd chosen the worst time to deify him.
His heart has still been broken and his new power fed from that source.
He was an immortal with the broken heart: he'd become the god of heart break so he'd never forget.
Time would never heal his wound.

"I won't fight you. Take it away." His mouth growing wider, baring his pronounced canines.

Shock washed over Aphrodite's face.
"I guess I've never said this aloud." Adris chuckled.
"I'm sorry you lost a servant, Deedee. At least she offered a sacrificed at your altar before abandoning you. She wasn't ungrateful."

He turned on his heel and stepped into spring and left the weighted aroma of Aphrodite's temple.
Another weight draped over his shoulder. He was met with the bright smile of Eros with a basket of fruit.
Adris narrowed his eyes at the offering.

"It's a fine day for a picnic." Eros said.

The wine Eros offered was sweet and the bread and the oil were some of the best Adris had had in a while. His suspicions grew.

"What are you doing next week?" Eros asked.

Adris laughed slowly placing an olive in the basket.
"Thank you for the meal but I'm busy."

"C'mon."Eros grabbed him again.
"We never get to hang out."

"Again, you misplace the blame. You're the one who's been busy." Adris said. He was always off to some place like Aphrodite nothing had changed after he'd joined the "family".

"I know. That's why I need you to do me this favor ."

Adris looked at the large blue eyes and his resolve was already standing on one leg.
"What is it now?"

"Go to Thespiae and..."

"Not that place again. Eros you've sent me there thrice."

"And you never find what I sent you for."

Adris frowned. "I did everything you asked."

Adris pushed him away.
"Adris. Please. This'll be the last time."
Eros was in his face with hands holding Adris' head.
"I thought we were brothers."
For Eros he didn't hesitate.
"We are."
Eros smiled.
"But Tell the other gods no the next time they beg you for favors." Adris said and walked the other way.

"Adris, after everything I've done for you. Just this little favor. I'm shocked you'd treat me like this."

Adris eyed the long haired god of love in annoyance.
"I'm not saying yes. But, what do you want me to do this time?"

Eros hugged him rolling him around in the soft green grass.

"I didn't say yes." Adris laughed but he knew he would soon be on his way to Thespiae again.
