Chapter 10

Everyone is sitting at the dining room table as always but this time is a different than any other. there is no food, no laughter, no good memories of any time. The emotions that fill this room are solemn and dark, draining all happiness away from everything in the room.

No one wants to talk, but everyone has something to say. I feel like I am intruding on their privacy because I can see everyone's emotions floating around them, but I don't know if they know that too. I open my mouth to ask but end up looking like a lost fish when I close it for the 5th time that night.

"G-Guys?" Aiko says in a soft voice.

Everyone turns their head to look at him but he keeps his head down, staring at an empty plate.

"What are we going to do with the bodies?" he asks.

"I know a guy who likes to eat dead things," Marquis says, voice void of emotion.

"O-oh," Aiko stutters before turning to throw up once more.

This earns a glare from Angel. "What the hell! You already know he's beyond scared right now and you're talking about death feeders? He's only 18!"

"And what do you care, Miss 'I have no emotions'." he says putting his hands up mocking Angel. "You never worry about anyone else other than yourself anyway."

"At least I don't go around flirting with anything that could be remotely female. I can keep it in my pants."

"Of course you can, no one would want to go in there anyway. I've heard it's a...."

Angel flies across the table and attacks Marquis. They look like there is so much hate between them. Although there is no hate, there is definitely the animosity of anger flowing through everyone here, and frankly, I can't take it.

"EVERYONE STOP!" I screamed. "Look, I know we have been through a lot tonight, believe me, I am not okay in the slightest, but attacking each other won't make anything any better. Maybe we should focus on why he was here in the first place."

They all were quietly thinking over what I said, and I waited for it to make sense to them. Angel and Marquis look over to each other with slightly apologetic glances that are filled with a hidden love. From what I remember so far, once Adam and Marquis began to sense their Alpha gene, the step dad never really came around much. When he did, it was only to beat the two boys for what was going on in the supernatural world. I never understood why they would be responsible for it, but there was always something wrong, and it seemed to always be their fault according to Stepdad.

"it was you," Aiko says. "You were the reason he came here. He said everything was going to shambles in the supernatural realm and that only happens when there's a sudden surge of power. Every supernatural being around the world felt you."

"But that doesn't make any sense. According to you, I've had these powers for the longest time so it shouldn't make a difference."

"You had baby magic, because you were a baby. It was more of your imagination than anything so it wasn't your full strength. Now that you are of age you are at your full capacity," Adam explained, sounding exasperated.

"Then what about my mother?"

"What about the wench?" Angel said. "It's her fault all of this ever happened anyway. just because we are different, that doesn't mean we wanted to embrace it. Maybe the old guy was right, it makes us weak."

"My mom did this to help you all not hurt you. you have not complained any other time so why curse her that way? She loved you guys like her own children."

"Oh yeah? Then why did she leave us to fend for ourselves? Why did she let Gus come into our lives? Why did she MAKE you leave? Is that what you call love?"

"You're right , I have a lot of stuff I need to talk to my mother about, but the only way I can do that is if we find her."

"And how do you propose we do that? She does a better job at disappearing then the Invisible Man and Casper combined," she scoffed.

"She told me where she is in a way. That's what I was trying to tell you guys before all this happened."

"Where did she say she was?" Adam asked.

"Well that's where the catch lies, she didn't say where she was she showed me. It was in this letter and the story just appeared in my head through my magic. I can't explain it."

"Well then how are we going to know how to get there?" Angel asks.

"I-I.. wait! Mama J did this thing that helped me remember how to use my magic. What if Aiko could do the same thing? You know, somehow be able to get the picture out of my head and onto paper like...like a map!"

"He can't," Marquis spoke for the first time since he was attacked by Angel.

Angel shakes her head agreeing. "He's too young and doesn't know how to harness the magic that's inside of him."

"I'm not that young, I can try," Aiko said, puffing out his chest and trying to sound confident.

I gave him a confident smile and motioned for him to come try. He walked over to me with paper and pencil in hand and closed his eyes, focusing hard. He put his other hand over my head with a concentrated look on his face. Minutes pass by slower and slower but nothing has happened. I can see that beautiful look of confidence and determination turning into fear and defeat and I couldn't stand to let it happen.

I couldn't let him feel small and weak while everyone was watching, so I imagined that he had enough power to receive the image. Not a second later, his blue magic began to absorb the image out of my head. I could feel it oozing out of my memory but still leaving a remnant of the memory for myself.

He drew the image with a boyish smile on his face. I smile back at him, making sure he doesn't see the amount of effort I had to put in for that to happen.

He stands up and hands the paper to Adam, being sure to show Marquis, "Here you go Alpha. If you will all excuse me, the runt of the pack is going to make himself a victory sandwich."

I laugh lightly and follow him to the kitchen. I am glad that there is still a small bit of happiness that I could offer today, but I wonder if it will be enough to keep us all happy.

Poor Aiko, they really should treat him better *sigh*
