The result of the examinations were given after the exams and Jungkook is nervous just thinking about it. He had never been so nervous to an exam result before. They were currently sitting at their seats as they wait for their names to be called out and receive their paper.

"Jeon Jungkook"

Jungkook perks up and quickly walks to the front to get his paper. He didn't check it at first and he waited to settle down before he peeks in.

B+

As what it was written at the right corner of his Math paper in bold characters and he feels something heavy was lifted from his chest.

"Yoohoo!" He shouted while punching the air. The students stared at him in confusion and Mrs. Choi chuckled while shaking her head. He doesn't care though, he's just happy at the moment. I'll be officially back at the football field.

The raven head glances to his side when he heard a chuckle and he also smiled widely at the person. This was all possible because of him.

"Tae! I got a B plus!"

"I'm so proud of you Kookie. You really did well." Taehyung feels warm and satisfied from the look of the younger's face. Even though its not close to his, he's so proud for the younger's good score (Tae got an A+, as usual).

"I would've failed and won't join the football team if it wasn't for you." Jungkook still grinned and held Taehyung's hands.

Taehyung smiled back with a tint of red at his cheeks. He's enjoying the warmth of Jungkook's hand and pretends not to be awkward. "No, its all you. Its because of your hardwork, Kookie."

"Its a shame I didn't beat your score though. But next time, prepare to be threatened." Jungkook smirks and wiggles his eyebrows.

Taehyung laughed not minding the stares of mixed reactions from their classmates and Mrs. Choi smiling in amusement.

It's the night before the quizbee and Taehyung is now walking home. His mind thinks of the quizbee and envelope inside his backpack. Its the payment Jungkook gave him earlier for his services to him.

Taehyung didn't want to accept it and refused to receive it, but Jungkook insisted and told him to consider it as a gift from a friend who wants to apologize for his actions in the past. So in hesitation, he received the envelope, and a gorgeous smile from Jungkook.

He greeted his grandma as he enters the house and after dinner, he gave her a part of the money from the envelope. His grandma was confused at first but he quickly answered that he got a bonus from the diner.

He quickly enters his bedroom and pats under his bed searching for his piggy bank. When he found it, he stuffs the rest of the money inside and shakes it to hear the clutters of coins and shuffles of paper money inside. He had been saving money when he started working at the diner, with no particular reason to where the money would go in the future. But he just saves for future purposes.

Now as he reviews for tomorrow's contest, he tries not to panic since this will be a stepping stone towards his dream college. He cannot disappoint his grandma and will do his best to win. He still feels nervous because there are many smart students who will also be joining tomorrow, including Yugyeom. Taehyung noticed the said male had also prepared well.

A ding from his phone interrupted his thoughts and he checks it, only to see Jungkook sending a text. He slides his thumb to the side to unlock the phone (as how Jungkook taught him) and reads.

Kookie: Tae, good luck for tomorrow! I believe in you. Fighting!

Taehyung smiles at the text, and somehow, that eases the slight anxiety that was rising in his chest.

The quizbee started early and all the representatives are now seated at their respective desks. The event was held at the school's gym and each representative had their classmates supporting for them. Sadly, Taehyung couldn't find his. There was Jungkook though, together with Jimin and Hoseok sitting at the side and giving him thumbs up as he glances at them. He smiles feeling contented.

As the quiz master announced the rules, they were each given a small white board and marker in where they will write their answers and would raise when the bell rings. Taehyung glances again at Jungkook one last time to gain boost of confidence but his smile was wiped off when he sees where the raven head was looking. Yugyeom was seated not far away from him.

Sure, Jungkook said he supports Taehyung and wants him to win. But deep in his heart he knows that the younger low-key looks after his ex and also wishes the best for him.

"Let's start for the easy category!"

He readies himself as he hears the voice of the quiz master and tries to ignore the sour feeling in his chest.

Time flies and the quizbee ended. The representatives are now standing with terrified looks in front of the audience as they wait for the results to be announced. Well, only Yugyeom is smiling. He was confident in winning since he really trusts his principal of a father.

Taehyung's face is worried since he thinks he made a mistake somewhere along the quiz. But this is how Taehyung is every time he competes, he's always worried. Suddenly, the quiz master's voice is now booming around the place once again.

"The champion for the Math quizbee 2017 is no other than..."

Taehyung closes his eyes.

"Kim.."

Yugyeom grinned widely.

"...Taehyung! Congratulations!"

Taehyung snaps his eyes wide open as hears his name being called by the quiz master. He cannot believe it, he's one step closer to his dream college.

The quizmaster gave him the gold medal and certificate as champion and he was smiling so widely. Jimin and Hoseok runs to him after and tackles him into a bone crushing hug. He did not notice how Yugyeom glared at him with tears threatening to fall from his eyes.

The hug from their two friends did not last long as they give way for Jungkook. The younger then holds the brunette's waist and spins him around as he shouts, 'you did it! I told you!'. And as the raven head settled the laughing Taehyung down, both boys hug each other and Taehyung felt bliss as he closes his eyes.

But then the brunette boy opens his eyes when he hears sniffles not far from them. His eyes met Yugyeom's and he was surprised to see the burning intensity from the said male's eyes.

Yugyeom is clearly jealous. There's no doubt about that. He's jealous of Taehyung's winning and Taehyung having Jungkook. Its all clear as the day.

Taehyung's ecstatic feelings slowly dissipates at the scene and he slowly realizes he is about to lose. He felt scared all of a sudden and wants Yugyeom to realize that Jungkook isn't his anymore. He realized he doesn't want any of this to end. Even just for a while, he wants to be selfish. He wants to call Jungkook as his.

Overcome with so much emotion, Taehyung makes a move that he knows will change everything. He pulls away from the hug and then pulls Jungkook's nape closer. Jungkook didn't even have the time to react when he was pulled closer to the brunette's face.

Then he felt soft lips against his.

Both boys automatically close their eyes at the sudden tingling feeling and stayed like that, savoring the taste of one another. Taehyung's heart started to beat faster and when he was about to pull away, he felt Jungkook moves his lips and he immediately responds back. Both of their lips are now moving in sync and heads tilting, only becoming deeper by the second. Now Taehyung's arms are circled around Jungkook's neck, and the latter's arms around the older's waist, pulling closer. It was Taehyung's first kiss and just follows Jungkook as he leads the movement of their lips. Both have forgotten their surroundings and just enjoy the sweetness of one another.

As they were starting to lose their breath, they heard loud sniffles this time. It was clearly the only sound in the room now since everyone had gotten silent. Jungkook lazily opened his eyes at the sound still kissing Taehyung. But his eyes totally widened at the sight of his ex boyfriend crying.

Jungkook immediately became aware of the situation and pushed the still dazed brunette away.

"What the fuck?" He unintentionally shouts.

Why didn't he realize all of this earlier? Was he that lost in the kiss? He looks at Taehyung, whose eyes are now brimming with tears. Then he looks at Yugyeom's pitiful state, he must have been devastated to have lost the quiz and Jungkook didn't even at least comfort him.

Yugyeom suddenly runs away from them, pushing past people out of the way and out of the gym. Jungkook didn't think twice and runs after the sobbing male.

That moment Taehyung hears his heart crack. Yes, he always wins in every contest, but there is always one thing he will never win. And that is Jeon Jungkook's heart.
