Dancing with John
My next date was with John.
He was taking me dancing.
He put on a very nice suit.
I know this isn't a photo of John in 1968, but it was hard to find a picture of him in a suit
I was getting ready in a nice dress I picked out earlier that day.
I put it on, curled my hair, accessorized of course, put on my coat and went to John.
"Are you ready, little dove?" He asked.
I nodded.
He put out his arm, I took it and we were off.
When we got there, he took off my coat, revealing my lovely dress.
He was speechless.
Like the dress?
"Wow. You look so beautiful. Pink is your color." He said.
"Thank you." I said, smiling.
We checked our coats and went inside.
The ballroom looked so lovely.
So many people dancing, wonderful music, and the décor was very nice.
"This place is so pretty and I love the dresses." I said.
John chuckled.
"I thought you would." He said.
John escorted me to a table for two.
"You know, I never knew you had an interest in dancing. We lived together for quite a while and you didn't say a word." I said to him.
"Well, I never had someone I wanted to dance with." He took my hand. "And dancing with the boys felt a little weird." He said.
I laughed.
He then stood up, still holding my hand.
"Shall we, milady?" He asked.
I stood up and followed him to the dance floor.
He held me close as we moved to the music.
I just adore this film and this dance scene.

Lyrics-
The best things happen while you're dancing
Things you would not do at home
Come naturally on the floor
For dancing soon becomes romancing
When you hold a girl in your arms
That you've never held before
Even guys with two left feet
Come out alright if the girl is sweet
If by chance their cheeks should meet while dancing
Proving that the best things happen while you dance
I was amazed by his moves.
I felt so safe in his arms.
We both smiled at each other and hugged.
When the evening was up, we went home.
I had fallen asleep in the car, leaning my head against John's shoulder.
He then picked me up, bridal style, carried me to my room, laid me on my bed, took off my shoes, and kissed me on the forehead.
"Good night, little dove." He said.
He turned off the lights and went to his room.
