Season 1 Episode 1: Our Very First Show PART 2
"So, how's your Uncle George, then?" George inquired, now satisfied since he had his cup of coffee and a donut.
"He's not doing so great," John answered, taking a sip of his coffee. "His surgery's scheduled for this Thursday. Mimi promised that she'd keep me posted about his health."
"Oh, that's a shame," Paul said, reaching for another donut.
All of them sat silently for a moment. Uncle George had played a big part in John's childhood, and it was really disheartening to see his health deteriorate. John just sat there, awkwardly drumming his fingers on his knee, waiting for someone to change the subject.
Finally, Ringo did. "Jules, do you want to play?"
Julian had been sitting among the adults, bored, while they talked about things that went past his head. His eyes lit up when he heard Ringo's voice. "Yes!"
"What do you want to play, then?" Ringo asked Julian while signaling to John, Paul, George, and Cynthia that they'd have some time alone for themselves while Ringo played with Julian.
"In the backyard!" Julian announced.
"That's just what we'll do, then!" Ringo lifted Julian up and went off to play with him.
"Are you okay, John?" George asked John with concern, touching his shoulder.
John swallowed. He didn't realize that he'd get this emotional over his aunt leaving. The aunt who'd always reprimanded and scolded him. The aunt who always told him to wear his dorky little glasses.
The aunt who loved him.
"I-I-I don't know," John blurted. "I don't think so."
Cynthia leaned against his shoulder and kissed him on the cheek. "You can tell us. We're your family."
John took a deep, shaky breath. When his mum had died, he'd been told not to cry. Not to show his emotions. To suck it up.
He didn't cry. It just wasn't... right. For him.
But before John realized it, tears were rolling down his cheeks. They just came, and he couldn't control them.
"John, what happened?" Paul asked, moving his chair closer.
"I... I'm not okay. After Mimi left, I realized that I really, really love her. Like I loved Mum. And I got emotional about it. But I'm not allowed to cry." John quickly wiped his tears, trying to pretend that everything had been all right.
"Who said that you're not allowed to cry, mate?" Paul said. "Those are stupid gender roles. You can bloody cry John. Cry a river if you want. It's not good to keep those feelings inside."
After that, John didn't wipe the tears anymore. He sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. Paul, George, and Cynthia didn't leave his side for that half an hour when his pent-up feelings were released.
"Everything's gonna be all right," George said with a smile.
"Actually, it's not, as long as George is around," Paul said.
"Why's that?" John asked him.
"Refrigerator raids, my friend," George said with a smirk. "You'll have to stock up on groceries twice a week."

And that's the end of Part 2 and therefore the end of the first episode! Sorry if that was cheesy. Not all the episodes are gonna be like that.
