The Missing Hero
(Reader's P.O.V.)
A year and a half ago, the hero Sonic the Hedgehog, went missing. Just up and left one night. No notes, no signs of kidnapping, no signs of anything really... just... gone. In that time, news stories asking for anything about the hero popped up everywhere. Even Eggman was looking for his arch-nemesis. The search parties, however, slowly trickled to a stop. Eggman was arrested and things seemed to go quiet. There's only one person still looking for the blue hero, my roommate who happens to be putting up a good fight after I suddenly scooped him up. "Dude, Tails, you need sleep. By my authority of being older than you, I command you to sleep!" I kick open our shared room and toss him on his bed. "(Y/N), I know he's still out there. Give me like 5, no, 10 minutes more." "Nope, You're sleeping or I'm locking you out of your garage." He huffs, pulls the blanket over his head, and then passes out. Gently, I shut the door of our shared room and walk past the only other room in the house, Sonic's room. I've never seen inside it but when I came to live here in the workshop Tails insisted that I share a room with him instead. I guess he wants to keep Sonic's room the way he left it. Poor fox probably lost his mind when Sonic disappeared. I better go into the garage and straighten things up... I head down to the garage where Tails set up a large corkboard with pictures and red string connecting them. It looks like something a conspiracy theorist would have. Strewn all over the floor are cut newspapers from the past year. I put the unwanted remains of daily news in the recycle bin. As I'm doing this a headline catches my attention. "Mysterious creature spotted in the woods near Mystic Mansion." Mystic Mansion? That spooky house with all the ghosts? The blurry photo in the newspaper looks like a large furry hedgehog with sharp claws. I take the paper and go back to the shared room to read it. Maybe I should look into this.
